very pretty walk. great for kids.

The route shown in the map follows along the lake. it isn't really a trail; it's a 'road'. There are no trees along the trail, and your view will be mostly the highway and a coal plant. I'd rate this hike easy as it's completely flat. More of an easy walk around the lake than a hike. Dogs and 6 year old had fun, though.

great park for running and family activities

One of my favorite forest preserves in Lake County. Quiet and very peaceful. Great place to relax and have a casual morning/afternoon on Lake Michigan

Even though the grassy trails are still closed, the views of the lake are fantastic.

Good outdoor space for going museum-to-museum/etc with city skyline views and the lake!

Easy walk on a gravel road. Some wildlife. Can see downtown St. Louis.

Good trail but no water available.

This is my favorite trail so far! Loved how nice and flat it is and the option of biking off the trail to look at the houses especially the Frank Lloyd Wright homes in the Ravine Bluffs neighborhood of Glencoe as well as some of the ravine neighborhoods in the Ravinia section of Highland Park. The only negative I have is the narrow path right when you get on from Wilmette. But that is just a short while and the rest is worth it. Make sure you check out the Butterfly Hatchery along the way.

Very pretty. The hike takes you north along Lake Michigan. The area seems very well managed for invasive plant removal. The trail connects to the trails in Illinois a State Beach for an extended hike. The southwest trail is a foot path through vegetation.

The Lake Glendale trail system is not for the inexperienced. There is no signage, the trails go all over the place, and it is incredibly easy to get lost. With that said, it is some of the most fun riding that we have in the area. It is ruff. There are a few good drops, nice jumps, high speed down hills, very tight single track, it has everything, it’s not for the faint of heart nor the inexperienced. This trail is best to use with a local that knows their way around. You can do a nice 10 mile loop that is fairly exhausting. This trail I believe has the longest climbs of anywhere within a 45 minute drive.

Go in the morning on a weekday, and you'll nearly have this area to yourself! Enjoy the many moods of Lake Michigan, great views of the city, and plenty of swamp and water birds

Didn't walk the full trail but this is an amazing way to get around outside of the city streets if you don't mind walking.

Nice wide, well-groomed trails. Plenty of wildflowers, birds, and frogs. Lots of bicyclists since it's a bike trail.

Scenic flat concrete trail next to Lake Michigan. Can be warm later in the day so I recommend early morning running. You can meet the River Walk as part of your run.

This is a great path for biking, I don’t recommend for hiking. There is a lot of bike traffic. The Chicago Botanic Gardens opened a path on Lake Cook Rd in Glencoe, so now you can enter the gardens. I highly recommend visiting the gardens.

Nice trail but VERY confusing. There is a complete lack of signage in certain areas. We got lost more than once and had to ask anyone we saw on a bike where to go. Part of the trail was closed and we needed to carry our bikes up a huge flight of stairs. The trail itself is well maintained and very wide with interesting things along the way. Better direction signs would help!

The best way to discover the beauty of Chicago’s skyline and Lake Michigan! If you’re a local or out of town tourist, I recommend this to anyone who would like to run or bike towards the heart of downtown or their first time in Chicago.

Beat to do on a weekday as the park gets crowded with beachgoers and tourists, especially around Navy Pier. The flyover at the pier is running way behind schedule, now estimated for sometime in 2019.
