If I could, this would be a 3.5 star. At the split at the beginning we went left and there was very few markers and we got a bit off course. You have to cross two roads and it would have been nice to have signs. After getting back, the walk along the river was great. Lots of nice views. Just before you head back the trail goes farther than what is on the map. I think we logged 3.7 miles in total. This is the second time here and definitely enjoy the hike. We only saw one other person and that was in the parking lot.

nice hike in the woods not many views but plenty of distance options for all level of hiking.

nice hike and great views

This is a great hike with lots of amazing views of the water. Plenty of places to stop and take pictures. The reason for the four stars is that the entire second half is on a very skinny trail with not much to see. Again, this is a wonderful hike that I truly enjoy. There is also a point on the second half where you walk on a sidewalk for .1 or .2 miles. Definitely worth exploring and will be back.

I gave this one because we could not get the trail because the road leading to the trail is impassable. We got our car stuck about 100 yards into the drive. Thankfully a local gentleman pulled us out. The scenery we did see on the outskirts were beautiful but unless you have snow shoes. we spent some time in Tom's Tavern in town while the car was being pulled out, wonderful people. Don't try to tackle this trail until spring.

Beautiful trail to hike. Some tight spots and if you turn you climb up a pretty steep foothill. Would do it again!

This was a fun hike even with all of the snow in mid-January. The trail was extremely well marked and has been the easiest to follow so far (10 hikes in). There isn't much of a view but if you are looking for a nice hike through the woods, this is the place. I was the only one out here on a Monday and didn't see anyone except in the parking lot. Definitely a fun one to do again.

Pretty area but the trail was difficult to follow due to multiple branches. Good parking at the trail head. Was close to town, so a nice alternative to the busier trails.

Went in early January and plenty of people on the trail. Very easy to follow with only a slight elevation gain at the end. It was nice to have one trail for hiking and another for bikes and horses. Trail was in good condition considering the time of year. Only giving it four stars because the views aren’t all that great due to not getting close to the water.

Nice hike! Very peaceful, gorgeous views!!

Dog owners: if your dog isn't controlled, please keep on a leash! My dog is on a leash for a reason, which is defeated by those rambunctious canines who come running full speed to us out of the control of their humans.

Was not impressed, it was very muddy. No views and dog poop everywhere

Wonderful hike. Trails are endless and you can go so much farther than the actual loop. Went and took three kids who all loved it. Would definitely go back again and explore even more.

Great trail for a quick hike. Not too muddy and light traffic during the week.

Beautiful place to sit and have a picnic or take a peaceful walk. Family friendly with a chalkboard wall under one of the bridges. Kids loved it! Nice little day out with family.

The trail loops near the top where you’ll find a small water stream. It has great views of snake river and surroundings! I’d recommend hiking the trail in the winter time to get some great photos of the snow.

ive done this hike every other year since i was 4 years old and its just as good every time we go! every time i go there are no people at the lake let alone the whole trail, the fishing is great too!

It is beautiful out there, but there is not much to see beyond the bridge.

good trail to walk with your dog. could be difficult to walk if you are a senior. I've done several 2 mile loops on this Trail, steep Trail up, moderate down Trail back to the bridge. I'm in my 70s.

Beautiful hike, just not in the heat of the summer.

Nice and easy walk to take with the kids and dog with a wonderful view and great outdoor artwork.

December - Early Winter, Light Snow

This trail makes for a decent scenic little loop through a densely forested area.

There isn’t much to see on this trail unfortunately. The forest is healthy, and there is some solitude to be found this time of year, but with a poor view of the lake and no notable fauna, there isn’t anything to make it stand out.

The trail is very flat and accessible. Though, due to recent weather and high activity there was a lot of ice on the trail. Would recommend bringing some extra traction in the winter.

We only hiked the trail, but it seems like it would make for a good running or mountain biking trail. I also saw a sign that says horses are allowed.

Like I say for all these types of trails, not something to go out of the way for, but a good place to go if you live near by.

Did this hike with my ten year old on January 2nd. There was lots of snow on the ground and some parts were pretty slick. The trail is narrow in places and I wouldn’t recommend taking a pet or little kids in the winter. The view was very nice in several spots. We were the only ones there but I expect that would be different in the summer. I’d definitely come back and do it again.

Fun easy hike. Lots of signs to tell you about the wildlife and foliage in the area. A short portion of the hike takes you down by the water and a giant house. Looks like there are some smaller trails to explore as well.

Easy paved trail that takes you down to a river. Not a lot to see and very short.

Dec. 31 2018, 22 degrees, sunny and no wind at all. Beautiful day to be out on this trail with about 14 inches of powder. There are some really wonderful views along this trail.

Very easy hike for kids. Lots of historical information and a great shot of the falls. There is an area for kids to play as well.

Good hike with some elevation. Hike to the river is a bit lackluster but still a decent hike.

This is not much of a hike, per se, but it is a nice spot to picnic or play in the lovely park next to the falls. I always make this a stop, while riding bikes on the nearby trails.

Not for "serious" hikers, but if you want to climb around some cool rock formations and wear out your doggo with fun landscape to explore, it's definitely a good time.

Not much of a trail for part and then no trail for the other half. Definitely don’t bring kids as they can easily slide off the very narrow trail if it is slick. It seems like most of the area for hiking is actually a frisbee golf course.
