Great hike close to town for kids. Both open and Forrest sections.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TRAIL. It is impassable after just a few 100 yards. There is a heavy rock slide that is dangerous to try and cross. We tried going down to the creek and getting across but again, totally impassable. The climb down is not clear and there is brush, thorns and lots of areas to break an ankle. This needs to be cleared on taken off the trail map before someone gets seriously hurt - nothing moderate about it - dangerous unless you are an extreme hiker that wants to blaze your own trail.

Better than Baker - which was awesome. Do the loop and get all three lakes.

**40 min drive on dirt road to get to trail head from 75. Great hike, incredible scenery. The lake is amazing and a refreshing swim.

Incline is easier if you start at right entrance to loop.

Definitely worth the significant effort required. Went to first and second lakes. First one was prettier with many trout jumping and feeding. Beautiful, crystal clear water. Beautiful wild flowers. Trail to second lake was not marked so watch for well worn trail branching to the right once first lake is reached. Drive to the trailhead puts you back in the wilderness a ways before you even start hiking. No signage at trailhead. Per earlier comments, take a right had turn right after the bridge just after leaving the parking lot.

Great loop trail - well maintained and clearly marked. Very limited parking. More at the Fox Creek trailhead and can access loop from there. My recommendation is to go counterclockwise so you have bulk of elevation gain early in hike and in the shade. While there are some up and downs later in trail, you will have sun at your back and will finish walking along the creek which is refreshing. Trail is easy for anyone in decent shape. Anyone out of shape or with bad knees will find it a bit more challenging. No need for poles. Beautiful views at several points. About 1/2 the trail features shade

Great trail! This is actually a loop. Runs along the Big Wood for a while. Just the right amount of elevation gain and mileage for a great day hike.

Most enjoyable 6.2 mile loop I've done so far. We did the loop clockwise (shady first) Loved how wide the first stretch was, lots of nice Bridges and creek access for the pup. although the last half was on the "sunny side" of the loop we were lucky to have cooler weather and nice strong breezes. great hike

We hiked the trail today exactly as it’s marked in red in the app. This was excellent as so much fun. We started on the shady side and worked our way to the top. So much fun and wonderful views. Enjoy.

Loved the diversity of green live trees, burnt trees and wildflowers. The lake was gorgeous. Had a picnic and watched the fish pop out of the water .

Start with a climb then it’s open fields of flowers, practically flat area. Small up and down inside forest. Beware of bikers. It’s narrow and they go fast!! A post indicating the trail direction was down. Take a left at that spot.

This trail is good for anyone. The incline is not steep and consistent until the lake. The setting is quite different than other hikes. It's like walking through a graveyard of trees. The path is very good and the parking area has a bathroom. It took us about 1 hour to reach Baker Lake, heading out just before 10am. We didn't see a soul until our way back down but crossed paths with a couple deer. The lake is so calm you can see the fish pop up and eat insects. One thing to note is that the drive is a good 40 minutes on a dirt road once you turn off 75. We had zero cell signal.

I would recommend this trail. It is fairly steep. We had a group of seven ranging in age to 42 and everyone was able to complete it however the younger ones had some difficulty. I recommend bringing water because the well there is tree covered there’s also a lot of sun exposure. There were tons of wildflowers and the lake is absolutely beautiful.

This should be definitely ranked as Moderate due to the steep trail, although short. It is 98% up hill but shaded. We were two days from California coast and not acclimated. Hikers age was 79 but in good to excellent condition. First lake was buzzing with fish.

We took our 6&7 year old children on this hike as an intro to the area. Incline was fine. Limited shade areas for breaks. Saw many examples of wild flowers. Lots of other people biking or running with dogs on the trail. Everyone was very friendly. The start of the trail was located in a residential area. Parking was ok.

Incredibly beautiful hike to a delightful lake. Short steady grind that’s pleasant and entirely worth it.

Very nice hike. Great views of the Sawtooths on the back side. Challenging at times but all in all nice hike in around 2 hours.

We took the gondola and Christmas chair up and hiked down. Pretty views. Rock scramble at top transitions to forest path.

I recorded 1.9 miles each way. Note the a longer hike to Titus Lake starts at Galena Lodge. The flowers were still excellent. Some flys but no mosquitoes. A nice little hike.

If you are new to this trail, after the bridge turn right on the trail. No signs are posted on the trailhead. my wife and I ended up going straight and ended up hiking 15 miles. other than that, the lakes were awesome! We backpacked over night only one other person was on the other side of the lake. very peaceful and away from civilization.
