this was a beautiful trail! it follows the river most of the way around the loop so it offers some really pretty views. I used my snowshoes on this trail, it was fully covered with deep beautiful snow, that has been packed down so the trail is easy to follow. WARNING as of right now (Feb. 17, 2020) a section of the trail is washed over by the creek. there is a sign marking the re-route, make sure you follow the plowed pathway back to the Forest road, DO NOT follow the trail as it is mapped in all trails because it will take you through the creek. all in all this was a beautiful trail, easy to follow, and well mainted.

Beautiful, peaceful trail. Saw lots of swans on the lake which really added another element of serenity to the experience. There’s several different loops you can take from the lake to “custom fit” the hike you want to do that day. I’ve been there in both summer and late fall (with snow on the trail and ice on the lake) and loved both seasons equally. Nature therapy at its best!

This is a great trail. We bushwacked a lot of it. It was a great hike. We saw lots of elk, 3 or 4 big bulls, and heard lots of elk bugling.

My wife and I are in our 60s and we hiked this trail on Oct. 16. 2019. The temperature warmed from the 30s to the 50s as we hiked. Most of the trail was quite muddy from recent snow but not too bad. This is a beautiful hike and we only saw 2 other people. Wonderful view from the top. We were not in a hurry and it took us about 3:45. Didn't see any wildlife except birds on Silver Lake.

This was a fun snowy hike, but there were some icy spots we had to navigate around. Saw a lot of ducks and what we think were moose tracks (sadly no actual moose sighting). It was just slightly too long for our 9 month old to stay in his carrier the whole time without needing to get out and take a break.

great easy trail. I have done this trail in the summer and the winter on cross country skis. I always enjoy it.

I wouldn’t drive all the way out here just for this. It’s a short, leisurely stroll, at best.

Nice place for bird-watching and stretching the legs. Other than that.... yawn.

A very nice simple trail. At times pretty narrow, but overall relaxing and simple. Great hike

Harriman is a beautiful park, and this trail lets you get a view of the area. On a clear day, you get a beautiful sight of the Tetons as well. It looks like a great place to mountain bike and we want to come back with our bikes. Beautiful ponds but there are some mosquitos so bring bug spray. There is also a lot of horse poop so be aware of that, and there will be horses on the trail. A little bit rocky at the end but nothing too bothersome.

Super easy walk - not a hike. Wooden path makes it convenient and easy for everyone... Beautiful river but also quite busy area...

Beautiful walk and beautiful area... very easy paved road and short distance makes it perfect for a short walk if youre anyway in area... large trout under the bridge btw

Trails much longer than all trails at shows. You can keep going for significant distance. Well-maintained, right next to the river, really pretty surroundings… Good times

Trail goes by Mount Jefferson, not up it. It meets the CDT below Jefferson. The last bit—and practically all the elevation gain—is straight up the cirque to the ridge and then on to the peak. I went back down the ridge to where it meets the trail., skipping the slide down the cirque. If I hiked it again, I would go up and down the ridge and bypass Rock Creek altogether. Meadows, wildflowers and panoramic views, this route has a lot of appeal.

This hike is beautiful, lots of wild flowers and beautiful scenery, lots of shade and the path is clear though narrow. I even saw a porcupine! The trail had a LOT of horse poop and bugs especially mosquitoes who seemed immune to my bug spray. I would recommend wearing pants and having water proof shoes of some kind.

This state park is fantastic!! As an out-of-towner, I was very impressed. You do have to pay a $5 entrance fee if you don’t have a year pass. There are a variety of trails and you can make this hike what you want from it. My favorite was that the trails were so clearly marked! There was a sign at every intersection. The staff was friendly, there were flush toilets at the visitor center (if drop ones freak you out), and the scenery was beautiful! No Mountain view’s, but amazing meadows and wildflowers!

Great trail for the family! It is well marked with lots of options to extend your hike if you’d like. Beautiful scenery! Bug spray is a must!

Fun trail to go on. It was a little rocky and pretty steep at the beginning, but well worth it. It’s not a long hike and if you go at the right time, you can stop and forage for huckleberries. Climbed the lookout tower and the views were amazing!

This is a great hike for families! It was easy & had beautiful views of forest, rivers, & wildflowers. We even saw a moose in the meadow.

Clearly laid out series of trails make it easy to make your own route through the park while tracking mileage. I took a more strenuous route than this one describes... but, was on this path for a significant portion of my hike. HIGHLY recommend bug spray. I walked away with over 100 mosquito bites. That said, views and foliage were gorgeous!

This was a fun, easy trail to go on. It was well maintained and had a beautiful view of the river the whole time. Lots of flowers, huckleberries, and other wildlife to see! We took our dogs and they also loved it. It wasn’t busy at all. We saw only one other group of people on the trail. It’s one I’ll definitely do again!

As a point of clarification, dogs are only allowed in parking lots and on a leash. As a wildlife and waterfowl refuge dogs are not allowed on the trails or in the historic building portion of the park.

Beautiful walk. flowers, birds, gorgeous river. easy walk.
