Easy paved path along the river

This is all sidewalk and a beautiful walk. Very busy.

Pets not recommended unless they've spent plenty of time walking in shoes already. Definitely make sure they are a good fit too! We've gone out with our dog, but turned back because his shoes kept coming off. Lava rock is not ok on bare dog paws, its sharp and gets hot. Set your dog up to have a good time outside.

If its windy in Idaho Falls, its windy A.F. out here.

The scene out here is pretty awesome if you haven't grown up here and haven't seen lava fields before.

Take plenty of water. The lava rocks reflect a lot of heat and you will need it. I would never take my dog out there!!! Rough trail and sharp rocks. Always pack a flashlight just in case and understand that it is impossible to follow the poles in the dark and the trail is not like a dirt trail that's easy to follow. I did a search and rescue mission out there. It's real easy to twist an ankle and get lost. That's my 2 cents.

amazing views in may and the cherry blossoms smell amazing easy walk definitely a tourist trap.

Began this loop at the Sunnyside fish pond. Kids did great. Beautiful scenery a little ways past the overpass.

On our way from Salt Lake City to Grand Teton National Park, we took a break in Idaho Falls. This park and walkway is pretty much right off the highway. If you're looking for a fun, easy, scenic stop off on the road and you are passing through Idaho Falls, stop here! It is not only a nice place to walk around to stretch your legs, but the street that parallels one part of the walk way has several restaurants and hotels. We ate at the Mexican restaurant there. It was really good!

It’s a nice hike and decent workout, but somewhat bland scenery. The patterns of the lava flow are interesting, but create a rugged terrain.
I wouldn’t recommend it for dogs, there’s several sharp rocks and small cacti hidden between them. A few families were there with small children (under 10yrs) who seemed to be struggling because of the large crevasses and loose uphill rocks.

Nice easy walk for beginners. Beautiful scenery and clean landscape

Cool hike but do not take dogs onto any volcanic rock lightly. People only! Dogs will need booties. Also, it can get windy out here, windy enough that any hats need to be physically strapped on and jackets need to be zipped or they can catch gusts that will knock you off your feet.

The falls are great and the trail is alright. Highlight of this Greenbelt is the garden on the rock just south of the Broadway bridge.

Beautifully set

Used for marathon training. I wouldn't consider it a hike, but it's good for running.

Great hike and some very odd scenery but the trail said it was pet friendly and my Great Dane' s paws would definitely disagree

Great in town walk/run.

Poles are hard to follow for the trail. Very rocky and dry. Bring water and shoes you don't mind getting trashed. Big volcano crater at the end which is pretty cool.

It was fun.

Fantastic hike in late spring. Lots of wildflowers and blooming cacti to see along the way. Navigating some parts of the trail can be difficult spotting some of the trail markers.

It says dog friendly but you better protect those little pooches soft pads because the ah'ah' lava will cut them up

An urban wide paved path, frequent tourist destination year round, now parallels the farmers market from Spring to Fall. Beautiful scenery year round, in the summer they extend the path under Hwy 20 with a floating bridge so we are able to bike into Freeman Park. If you go the south-west across WBroadway St towards Snake River landing, the gardens are amazing. Sportsman park and the "rock garden" down further alongside the river, those are well worth exploring the places away from the tourist trap but beautiful waterfalls and temple views

Be careful of temperature on the trail. Start early. It gets hot! Take lots of water. It is a little difficult to see some trail markers.

Really pretty. A more difficult hike because you're scaling lava fields. Not good for dogs, cactus everywhere and a little rough on the pads.
