I liked that the steeper inclines were mixed with some traversing trails. There was a bit of snow and ice, and the trail is very worn in some areas from the dirt bikers. Amazing view at the top. It was easy to navigate with the app, but would have been difficult without it.

Excuse my language, but FUCK! I went with a 7 yr old, and two 6 yr olds.. phone died took us two hours to complete, scared to death because I didn't know which way.. A suggestion: placing maps here and there that would be helpful, good thing I looked at the map before my phone died. Last hr had to give these kids a piggy back ride going down hill, went off trail and fell a few times and it was freezing cold! BUT can I say how proud I am of these tiny human beings! TWO HRS of hiking for them! HECK YEA!

Today was a perfect day in November to hike this trail. I started at 7a and the sun was just coming up. I had plenty of light and it was brisk but not freezing; even though the temp was around 30 degrees when I started. I layered up so I stayed cozy. Lots of frost but it was beautiful. I finished the hike in a little over 4 hours. It was fabulous. I loved it and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good workout. The whole hike might be difficult for children but any adult should be able to complete it without trouble-just don’t rush and keep an eye on where you step.

I think this might be one of my new favorite hikes! I wish I lived closer. The sun was out, even those it hovered around freezing temps today. Great easy hike, and a nice step into the wilderness for being so close to downtown!

Recommend this place mountain to lake rain or shine beautiful place to relax. I have had fun with my 13 yrs old beagle to this park.

A perfectly moderate trail with beautiful views. A great hike to do in the early fall with a light jacket. This would also be a great trail for mountain bikers

Trail was good for family only ran into two other groups hiking as we were leaving. Only down side was when we arrived to the parking area trail head. Some skinny bearded guy was smoking meth in his rusted mini van. He decided to leave when I took photos of his plates on his van.

Beautiful views. Me and the gf had a great hike here and met some awesome people.

Great hike this sunny afternoon. It is a solid 4 hrs to the top and back down. How ever the over look is only an hour ish from the camp ground.

This is the BEST place to spend a hot summer afternoon, soaking up some sun on the rocks and splashing in the water (or taking a big jump into the water from the tall rocks, if you’re suited to that)... Heavily trafficked during the summer, for SURE. Usually, to get a good comfy spot on the rocks, my boyfriend and I try to get there before 10am on any given summer day. There will be lots of foot traffic during nice weather like that— large families and families with young kids, teenagers, younger and older adults, lots of dogs (most of which are leashed........)... Wouldn’t recommend bringing a dog that’s unfriendly/protective during those peak hours, but during quieter seasons, it proves to be a great trip that the whole family can enjoy! Splashing in the water, skipping rocks, amazing views of the water..... 10/10, this is a quintessential Pacific Northwest experience!

LOVED IT! We only had time today to trek about 30 minutes up, but my boyfriend and I both enthusiastically agreed that we need a rematch with this hike! At least speaking for the first portion of it that we covered today, there were some rocks, tree roots, etc... but enough variety that it was just FUN hiking! The weather was a little damp and cool this morning, so we did come across a few spots where it was important to pay attention to our footing (mainly on the bigger rocks) but all in all, that was a FUN start to the trail that we’re excited to come back very soon and explore more fully!! Our dog loved it too, although we didn’t run into anyone else (hikers or wildlife) for her to make friends with on this trip. Maybe next time!

Beautiful hike with great views of the lake. Highly recommended. Good for most ages, can be a bit slippery with the rocks and snow.

Fall is one of the best times to hike this trail. The golden fall colors are gorgeous! The trail itself is a 2.9 mile loop with gradual switch backs to the top. After reaching Caribu Cabin the trail goes west along the ridge. There are a few views along the top but the best view is at the end of the ridge before heading down. There you will find an inviting bench that looks out over Beauty Bay. Sit awhile and soak up the beauty before heading down.

This is a very good and challenging trail. Very nice views in the first few miles. We went when it was raining so it was cold but still very pretty.

beautiful views all around!!! gets the blood pumping but not to difficult

Nice day for a short Fall Hike with fall colors

Several trail crossovers with no markings making it difficult to stay on one specific trail. Very nice overlook of the lake and benches built by the Eagle Scouts. Trail ended at the burial sight of John Pointer.
