stay away from this trail of you're riding a horse. BMX and motorcycles pay no attention, accident waiting to happen!

It was a good hike, however I would rate it as easy to moderate. The camp ground where I parked was perfect for me, the trail wasn’t marked very well so I ended up exploring a bit more, nice switchbacks, very well maintained trails, and very popular....... many people were hiking it when I was there. Another great thing, the road into the camp ground is paved!

Love this hike!!

Great trail to take with our 7 and 4 year old.

Well maintained trail with great views.
I wish people wouldn’t cut the switchbacks though, sad!

As everyone has said, the first two miles are hiked along a fairly narrow ridge with some challenging terrain. Afterwards the trail becomes well groomed for easy cruising. The dense

Part of the greater North Idaho Centennial Trail, it gives a nice view of the lake. It does get a little crowded and there is one hill that might stop you, but still worth the ride.

great, easy access from downtown. the main trail is designed to by about 75% wheelchair accessible.

Very fun. New sights around every corner. Great semi-private beaches to take a dip at. Love this hike.

First time hiking here and loved It! Great maintained trail, perfect for the dog. The beginning is all uphill then will decline downhill to a meadow full of butterflies. I hiked this August 4th and got an early start. Plenty of shade and places along the creek to hang your hammock. About 4 or so miles in the trail gets muddy and trail is covered in water. Didn't see any wildlife, but the Wasps and hornets are bad. It was challenging to rest without them swarming us. I loved this hike and look forward to going back.

Enjoyed the hike. A bit hazy from the smoke, but still very beautiful. Went off on the Wilson trail for a ways. Nice viewpoints from there.

This was actually longer than stated (about 12 at least). Some nice ridge walking in the early part of walk. We were disappointed that there was no noticeable summit. Early August walk included lots of wasps/yellow jackets. Trail was quiet and easy to navigate. We would consider it a moderately difficult trail.

Great way to take in the lake. Our 3 year old loved it.

Excellent way to spend an afternoon. Crowded but still fun.

mountain biking

This is a technical strenuous moderate mountain bike ride. We started the trail from the Packsaddle area and climbed up to the top then rode down to the parking lot and out. The climb was more than I was used to and there were numerous root and rock steps to navigate. Not heavily trafficked but did run into hikers, trail runners and other mountain bikers on the trail. The trail is quite narrow in places. The trail marking isn’t as clear as I would have liked so bring a map with you. The weather finally cooled down a bit which was nice.

Did this on Aug 2 and had the trail to myself. Very quiet and peaceful. Trail was in good shape . It hasnt rained in weeks so no problem in crossing creeks. First 0.9 is uphill and peaks at a bench. Then down to the creek. Meadow and campsites were at 1.8 mi. I turned around at 3 mi where there is a junction sign. Both trails from there appeared unmaintained and overgrown. Overall a nice hike in mostly forest and some meadow.

When Siri says you’ve arrived at the TH take the right fork off of 202. Potholes and ruts but doable in a car if you take it slow.

Excellent trail, breathtaking views enjoyed every minute of our time here
Highly recommended

Wasn’t feeling to swell this day, so I did not make it to the top with the rest of my family. Didn’t feel like an “easy” trail either, definitely was a moderate with the huge incline.

Beautiful trail. Busy after 9:00 in the morning. Well maintained trail. Would be a nice stroll around the island for walking as well.

Bees only at the beginning of the trail. Lots of good climbs. Not too bad with ruts from bikes. Went early in the morning before the heat and really enjoyed it. No magnificent views. No amazing caves. But nice run through the forest.

Went with a good friend today. It's weird I've never done the whole loop before. Lots of people, but great up and down with some climbs. Really fun.

Amazing hike to do. The views are amazing and the trail is perfectly shaded for those hot days. You could even enjoy a little picnic if you packed a snack or lunch

Great views!

great hike. lovely views from the top. our 11 year old loved it. plenty of spots to rest if needed.

WOULDNT RECCOMEND IT. bees all ove the place the hole trail dusty and the pictures are bull shit and the trail they have a red doesnt even follow a real trail sometime it a bs trail bees where the worst as soon as you get out of your car so if your allergic DONT GO!!!!!!

Great easy trail for all ages! Usually pretty crowded during the day but still a great mellow hike with amazing views of Lake CDA.

Very short and easy. Nice that it is so close to town. Trail partly is in trees and shady but nearer trailhead is exposed and was hot today. I look forward to doing this in winter with cleats. No one else there while we hiked.

NOT easy trail and confusing to follow with lots of little trails to follow. No lake views but pretty meadows. Got off trail a few times so glad I had GPS map to guide us.

This was a great trail! My 8 year old son enjoyed it as well! Great views and a great trail!

Great trail for kids! We took our crew (aged: 8, 7, 6, and 5 - plus infant in a carrier) and did the trail in about 80 minutes (that includes a 15 min huckleberry picking stop). We even saw a bald eagle!
