2/10/19 was a good hike, with some knee deep snow toward the top! very fun.

Easy for everyone, it is a path that has been paved. You loop around behind the springs and it is a short, great little walk. the cabin is worth the visit as well. No need to take supplies.

Definitely recommend this trail, the canton all the way back to the falls is epic, definitely tempting to scale the walls but follow the rules. Will hike it again and go beyond the falls.

Easy walk around magnificent Bath Rock, or as the natives call it "Bath tub Rock".

Beautiful place. I do this hike every year. The only thing is that it is not even close to Malta. The reserve is between Almo and Oakley. I wish All Trails would get it right.

Amazing place to hike and climb. I go there at least once a year. So beautiful. Don't know why they say it is close to Albion, as it is located between Almo and Oakley. Not even close to Albion.

I usually do this one for day hikes and to hike a ridge or 2 in the area above the lake.

Quite easy going into Fourth of July Lake, but you are greeted with spectacular mountains and a beautiful lake.

Closed

The road to get to the trailhead was closed due to snow. I look forward to hiking here this spring.

Hiked on Feb 1...perfect hike for a winter afternoon. Pretty views and saw mule deer and Hawks. Wide open with no shade...dog friendly on leash. Well marked with good footing.

Did this trail with the family. 18 month old in a pack and a 4 year old hiking. As you get higher up, the trail does get icy. Need to skirt the side of the trail for traction. Great views! I’d recommend some ice cleats or something for traction towards the top. Will probably be a 5 star in the warmer/dryer months but the ice is a slight cause for concern.

This was a fairly difficult trail with good elevation gain. It was well maintained, but due to snow we did lose the trail near the top for a few minutes and had to improvise. Made it to the top however and down to the first two lakes where we camped for the night before making our way back out in the morning. We heard a bear growl/roar echo off the cliff face in the distance (probably at the next mountain lake over) and had a large hoofed visiter in the night pass on by. All in all a great hike!

Walking

Nice walk, a lot of people let there dogs run off leash though, which makes it difficult for those of us bringing our pets, on leash.

I absolutely love this area! This area is rich in history as it used to be a mining town, although you won't notice unless you know what to look for (much of the town was destroyed for metal during WWII). Still you can find foundations, mining carts, machinery, and coal around here (the museum in Driggs has the history of this area if you want to check it out). They plough to the parking lot, so you can get back here even during the winter (good idea to have 4 wheel drive) if you like to cross-country ski or snowshoe. The road coming in is narrow, so be wary of traffic. Great place to go all year round.

Running

Great trail! It’s a flat trail with no up or downhill. Beautiful scenery and if you’re looking to find out what your running speed is, this is a solid trail. I ran 6.55 in and 6.55 out. Good stuff.

Hiked this trail at the end of January. So far this has been my toughest hike (I’m a rookie hiker). It’s only difficult because the trail was absolutely covered in ice. I think it would have been much better in the spring. As for the views, there isn’t much to look at. You walk around on a skinny trail on the side of a hill. I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you are close by or are looking to cross another hike off the list. I should also mention the return portion of the trail is a bit hard to find. I logged 2.77 miles.

First time up Shaw mountain it was fantastic. We saw lots of deer and elk. A little snow along the way, but it was absolutely the perfect day to hike. I can’t wait to do it again in the spring time

This is a good trail but kind of boring for my taste. I have an irrational fear that I am going to hurt the trails feelings if I rate it only 3 stars. The weather was nice and there was not much mud on the trail.

Beautiful place, completely different feel in winter but you need snowshoes and 4wd to get around.
