Tried doing this hike in October 13th but the snow covered the trail and I was not able to find the path nor my footing so I gave up. I ended up doing the very easy hike around Blue lake close by. The view on that lake was gorgeous.
Setting the hike to 3 stars since I cannot leave this empty to post a review.

great place. was quite a few people when we went couldnt get to the bigger pools they were packed with people... but we found a small one and the kids enjoyed it still!

I'll add some pictures, but they don't do the scenery justice. At all. This hike is gorgeous. I only made it to the first lake before turning around, but that lake was gorgeous. Like another reviewer said, the way back was MUCH more strenuous than the way in due to the hike back being all uphill. I took my time and admired the amazing scenery. I will absolutely be adding this to my list of regular hikes. I brought my dog and he did really well.

Very nice easy 1 mike hike. The road up to the trail is rough and requires a 4wd. Not much parking at the trailhead so go on a non busy day.

Beautiful hike! It was a little more strenuous on the way back just because the way there was mainly downhill. Went to the first lake, I believe was hidden lake.lots of frogs, our dogs loved it.

great trail for a ATV or side by side, although the trail is big enough for a full size truck or SUV.

The road FS410 to get there is rough but they were working on improving it. The weekend we were there a group of volunteers were maintaining the trail. It is an enjoyable short route.

This is a beautiful trail however it ends in 2.5 miles. The sign says temporary closure. The county is negotiating with the property owners to allow public use of the trail.

Beautiful hike! The road is definitely rougher so I’d recommend taking a SUV, a sedan could make it but you’ll want to take your time. The landslide mentioned a couple years ago isn’t much now so don’t let that stop you from continuing to the TH.

The hike itself is great, I wouldn’t say it’s challenging. You get a lot of breaks with flat parts. The ground is pretty soft and compact with lots of larger rocks that act as aids in stepping up steeper parts.

Lake is beautiful, MAKE SURE to bring Bug Spray!!! We got eaten alive by mosquitos when the sun went away. My husband fished, there are a ton of fish up there.

We took our 5 week old and 22 month old kids up there so parents, bring your kids on this hike!

The Crown Point Rail-Trail is a nice and easy walking path. The trailhead starts at the Crown Point campgrounds in Lake Cascade State Park. The trail offers some nice views of the clear water lake, small inlet sandy beaches, pine woods, small meadows and ponds. As mentioned below, there are many smaller trails that take you down to the water’s edge as well as some that go off into the wooded areas.

Fun easy hike. Out and back add far as you would like to go. Relatively flat. Bikeable.

Not technically a “hike” but it is an incredibly awesome hot springs. There are two small pools that are usually full of people. The water is great and it is relaxing. Definitely going back.

very easy trail

Very beautiful lake with mountain at edge of the lake. The hike in is short but beautiful with beautiful wild flowers in July.

very easy trail with many side paths to discover. Not very many good hammock spots and the trail was very busy. But a really fun and easy trail for a day hike.

Easy for everyone, beautiful views. We walk it, geocache, bike and horseback ride here regularly!

The road is now posted as private property.

Very family friendly, and easy. Lots of nature, and site seeing.
I like that this trail is easily accessible to crown point campground.
If you go be sure to journey onto some of the side trails leading to the lake. Some have really nice beaches.

Easy family ride with great views.

I gave it three stars because of the unexpected adventure that we had getting to Skein and Raft Lakes.

As mentioned before, the FS 438 road is closed about 2 to 2 1/2 miles from the actual trail head. I had 4WD, but was with three other cars that did not and they were unable to get up to the point where the road was actually closed. There was a truck all the way up at the actual trail head and they said they made it there with 4WD. A group of about 15 of us decided to hike the road and then the trail.

The road was a constant climb, not hard but an extra 2+ miles makes it more than an "Easy" hike. We were passed by some ATVs that had no difficulty getting up the road.

The actual trail was a climb, but was not too hard. The lakes are nice at the end and it looked like there could be some good fishing at either lake although I was unable to fish. Skein Lake is the first lake to the left after you pass an old destroyed cabin. If you branch off and head out for another 1/2 - 3/4 of a mile you will get to Raft Lake which had lily pads, frogs, and fish jumping.

Overall, not all of our group made it all the way to the lakes, but the majority made it and loved the adventure! When most expected a 2 3/4 mile hike, it turned into an 8-9 mile hike.

It is basically a service road with minimal to no elevation gain. The views of Cascade Lake are nice with multiple opportunities to walk down to sandy beaches but if you want a challenge do not go on this trail. It's not so much a hiking trail as it is a walking path.

The FS 438 road is closed due to a landslide about half way up the trail head. It looks like an ATV can get around the slide.

Overall great day hike and great destination. However, the "road" (forest road 438) is actually more like an atv trail. Very bumpy and pretty narrow in spots. Do recommend 4wd and high clearance, but a sedan did make it up so it is possible. That being said, the overall experience was a 9/10. The hike itself in incredible. Suitable for most anyone, the lakes are both awesome. I found it to be about a mile to skein lake and an extra 3/4 mile to raft lake with about 900 ft elevation gain to raft lake. Would highly recommend for anyone.
