Awesome trail

Amazing views. This hike is a must do for the southern Boise National Forest. The gravel road out to the trailhead can be rough in spots once you pass Bogus Basin.

Mores Ridge trail. Easy 3+ mile put and back with beautiful vistas overlooking the Boise National Forest. Can easily be tacked on to the Mores Mountain Loop trail for those looking to extend mileage.

Great trail. Plenty of shade, wonderful views, and lots of flowers still!

Kind of difficult to find the trailhead, it looks like a private property area with a gate in front of it and barely any room to park on the side of the road. Decent amount of Mormon crickets but not too bad. Super cool abandoned shack at the end of the trail, total vibes. No shade at all and it gets kind of steep for the last three quarters of a mile. One of the harder moderates that I’ve been on.

Turn onto Shaffer Butte to get to trail head. $5 parking for day use. A lot cooler up there than in the valley. Kids and dogs completed the hike.

Loved this trail! Hiked it in mid-May. Recommend doing before it gets too hot because there is hardly any shade. Also, lots of crickets.

Incredible views . Strenuous short hike . Totally worth it ! I’ll do it again for sure . Bring plenty of water and hiking poles .

Did this one on my path to do the grand Slam . Good hike yesterday . Bring some hiking poles . I forgot mine and I regretted it . Plenty of water is needed during summer . Brought half a gallon and ran out before the end - Almost no shade on the trail . I might not do it again though . Views were even better on Cervidae peak trail; so I’d likely choose this one !

Not a "Mountain" bike ride, but a paved multi-use pathway next to the Boise River. PERFECT way to spend an hour or a full day.

Probably shouldn’t have drank as much as we did the night before but the views were beautiful. This one kicked our butts

I did this the first weekend of July. The reviews clearly state it, it’s steep! I actually wore chacos which was a ridiculous choice but my feet weren’t torn up after, so it’s a win! If you’re easily annoyed w bugs don’t choose this route, but the bugs are actually hilarious! They jump but never seem to land on their feet haha! Hard hike, bring hat, sunscreen, sunnies, sun shirt and lots of water- a hard earned jump in the lake afterwards tops it off!

Good running trail. You can make this trail a lot longer. Watch for signs in order to get back to the parking lot, without going miles the opposite direction :)

First time for this hike and we really enjoyed it. Thank goodness there were some clouds or I could imagine the sun would have been beating down on us the entire time. The first mile is a slight uphill and the second mile gets fairly steep. Glad we had our poles for the trip down. Giant grasshoppers or crickets (not sure what they were) were everywhere! Still some wild flowers on the trail. (7/7). We would do this hike again.

The trail map on here is pretty accurate, start on the trail at the lot on the left hand side of Bogus Basin road after mile marker 13. Follow that down what seems to be a road for a couple miles until the first T in the path. Stick left although it seems like you shouldn’t. Follow that until you get to another T, take another left going up Freddy’s stack rock trail and that will take you all the way to Stack Rock. Friends and I climbed to the top of Stack Rock in tennis shoes, although it is really sketchy in spots! If you have climbing experience or an adventurous spirit, you should be able to make it to the top! Beautiful hike, awesome wildflowers right now. Enjoy!

amazing don't think about it just go kill it.

Great trail run with some shade on the Brewers bypass portion. we ran ccw on Brewers first, took Elk Meadow immediately at the junction instead of taking the cabin traverse and meeting up with Elk meadow. also took Tempest under the top of Pine Creek Express #6 instead of backtracking on the switchbacks up to the top of Shafer Butte. total distance was 5.3 miles with those changes. Only a small patch of snow seen off the side of the last couple switchbacks up to the top of Shafer Butte.

This is a great trail. Nice views, lots of shade in the beginning miles, and not overly crowded.
