Very hard in 91 degree weather! But absolutely beautiful and worth it I guess lol

This was one of my favorite trails, at least when I went. there were lots of wildflowers (this was 2-3 weeks ago). Was a steady incline with switchbacks the whole way up and then nice view at the top. Connects to lucky Peak trail. Went early morning on a weekday and saw a couple cyclists and hikers. have to park on street, no actual parking lot.

Did part of this trail in April and went back yesterday for the full hike and so glad I did! the middle part of the hike can feel a bit long/boring but it's fairly easy. The part that loops before you head back was cool, different rock features and nice views of the city and foothills. I jogged most of the middle flatter section on the way out both times because it's fairly easy to do so when it's not too busy. There's also some shady spots along the way especially if you go in the morning. I went around 9am on a weekday and it was not crowded at all. Overall enjoyable trail that I would say is on the easier side of moderate.

Nice easy trail. Close to home. No shade and heavy traffic. Beautiful view of the city at the top.

Great trail to get a quick hike in. Go earlier in the morning as it gets a little crowded with bikers. Great for dogs.

The new Stack Rock trail, in my opinion, is much better than the previous one. Although adding a few more miles, the drastic incline/decline has decreased making it a longer but easier hike. Many great views with a mix of sunny and shades areas. It is a very popular location for both hikers and mountain bikers so always be ready to be passed by both. Dogs are able to go offleash here which is always fun if your dog is trained to do so!

Great 3.2 mile hike. There is about 3 miles of dirt road till you reach the trailhead, so vehicles that can offroad may have an easier time, but it is still doable by any car! The hike itself is beautiful. A fairly easy incline, with a couple shaded areas and showed a great view of rolling hills and various shrubbery. There is also a little creek where my dog stopped and played in!

Great short hike! Drive in is a bit gravely, but easy to drive. Few parts have small creek crossings. Gorgeous end view! Easy to do on a week day.

I absolutely loved this trail. Lots of shade and a beautiful view of Boise. My only complaint would be several mountain bikers going very fast around the corners. Had one close call. Other than that perfect!

Awesome hike! I never realized this beautiful piece of country was available to the public, thanks to the Noble family! Check out the videos I have made of the hike on my YouTube channel: IdahoMaddie https://youtu.be/EJy8ix2yY0Q

I enjoyed this hike- we saw a number of bikers and other hikers but it was Memorial Day, so perhaps busier than normal. A small stream crosses the trail that my dog enjoyed splashing in before continuing on.

Blowdown has been cleared. Did most of the out and back portion hiking and it was great. Saw a handful of other groups

We absolutely loved this hike. It was the perfect distance and it wasn’t too challenging for me and I’m not in great shape. It took us about 2.5 hours with a few quick stops. It was nice to be able to have our lab off-leash. I loved hearing the creek along the way, and there were some rocks full of lizards kids would love. There were some shady spots along the way, but I definitely recommend early morning.

Good trail. Single track. Watch out for mountain bikers.

Our family and dog loved this loop. It had a few challenging spots but was beautiful and always love how this area is dog friendly. We ended up a little off the loop a few times so it was 4.75 miles for us.

So many bicyclists. Not a great hike with them flying around all the bends. We had to step off the trail approximately every 5 minutes to let a Mountain bike pass by.

A good family hike with views of downtown Boise. The final approx 1/4 leg is steep for small children, and parts of the trail have slippery silt like sand. It’s a great sunny hike with moderate traffic. Far off views of snow capped mtn range. It’s nice to see a cross still stands somewhere for the public to enjoy!

Great morning hike! Nice trail conditions.

This was a nice trail. The first portion was a fairly steady incline on a hiking trail, but when you head the cross-path it evened out and was more like a small dirt road. Lots of cows on this path! I would suggest going earlier in the morning to beat the heat as there isn’t much shade on the trail

Much better than the original Stack Rock trail!

Definitely more of a technical trail for the intermediate to advanced mountain bikers. Lots of rocks to navigate in the beginning and the trail criss-crossing the creek several times. Getting wet is unavoidable on this trail as it literally takes you through the creek at points and you have no choice but to walk your bike. The elevation gain is intense on the ascent.

Nice moderately trafficked trail close to Boise. Neat rocky area at the beginning with views of Boise after that. No trees on this foothill hike, but well worth it!
