6/25/20 Really enjoyed this hike! Alpine Lake is gorgeous. Trail is well marked and clear. Did come across some snow towards the north end, nothing crazy. You can see the whole lake on the way to Sawtooth Lake and the view is spectacular.

Really enjoyed this hike & especially the view at the lake. Only a few patches of snow today & some muddy areas. Mosquitoes as we approached the lake. Saw some other hikers like us going out & back, backpackers, mountain bicyclists, and someone on a motorcycle so it was a bit busy. Would’ve liked to have gone further if we had the time.

Good trail up to overlook of Redfish Lake and then up to 2nd lake. Steady incline and partially shaded. The hike to 3rd lake was quite difficult with downed trees and boulders. Mosquitos were biting heavy so we headed back. Fished at 2nd lake and caught 4 lake trout in an hour. Good parking at trail head. We agree this was a moderate.

Hiked this last week (June28th.) Most of the trail was very visible till around 3.3 miles, hit a small patch of snow. Took us 3 hours to get to the top, hailed near the top. 2 hours to get down. Tried to keep our distance from the goats. Very pesky. The view is worth it!

Pleasant hike, paved part of the way and it continues as a boardwalk.

Did this trail on 6/30. Awesome views of Redfish Lake and the Sawtooth's as you hike the ridge. Went as far as the 2nd lake then turn'd back as it was getting late. Overall an easy hike that took around 3 hours.

I absolutely love this hike. The views are spectacular and you go from forest to open meadow and back into forest and meadow again. There’s a variety of terrain and it is mostly an easy hike until you reach where the trail ends. Hard to navigate from here and a group who has done it several times says the hike up to the lake is tough. It’s a great scenic trail though until it ends. A bit of mud but not too bad. This is one to take some less experienced hikers on. We did around 7 miles. Beautiful.

my husband and I did this hike about a week ago and LOVED it! The mosquitos are terrible though. We both had about 50 bites by the end. Bring more bug spray than you ever thought was necessary. The hot springs is really fun though and the hike is beautiful. It rained quite a bit which made it very wet and muddy but the nice warm hot springs at the end makes it worth it. I definitely recommend downloading the trail though. There are quite a few trails that lead from this one and it can be a little tricky in spots to know where you're going.

This was a nice trail for a hike close to home. Mixed use mountain bikers and trail runners. Fairly busy, everyone was friendly. No shade, being plenty of water.

Fantastic trail! I love the challenge because it is indeed straight up for the majority of the trail. The view on the peak is worth the effort though!

Depends are what you are riding. For a sport quad with a clutch the rocks are no joke. Was very worried about getting a flat. Outside of the rocks a beautiful and peaceful ride, but there was a lot of rocks.

Lovely little trail loop in the pines with gentle elevation changes. The kids (ages 5-14) were able to complete this hike easily with many stops to see the different wild flowers and loads of butterflies. We we’re happy that it was a wide trail the entire way so grandma (who is social distancing) was able to be part of the group and still able to be several feet spaced. There were a few large puddles in the middle of the trail, but we were able to skirt around them and keep shoes dry.

Great trail to get up to Lucky Peak faster than any other!

Just ok for biking

Wonderful hike- we have fallen in love with Idaho! would rate it on the easier side of “moderate”. Lots of easy flat and inclines. Shaded for much of the trail. Pass over shallow creeks. Alpine Lake is an epic view: mountains and snow and clear water. We spent an hour enjoying the view and fishing (no bites) before heading back. This was our easy day before a more difficult hike tomorrow. Some mosquitoes at the beginning of the trail. Overall trail was dry. Got there at 10 and got one of the last parking spots in the lot. (Difficult for us is the High Line in Glacier).

Fantastic loop connecting with Ricochet and Whistling Pig. Consistent vertical with easy-moderate terrain. Not a lot of shade but fairly open to wind. Great loop that could be extended to 5 miles or more with others. I ran this, I did not hike.

Great trail with amazing lakes at the end. As others commented, the first few lakes are easy to find but the last is the hardest as the path has been covered by fallen trees and boulders. The scramble up can be a wee bit challenging, but not too difficult if you are used to hiking. The view and access to the final lake is 100% worth the effort!
