Due to the volume of tourists there are safety concerns. They are making repairs and improvements. I live in Kailua, it’s a great little trail. it’s not easy and you need good shoes. Once you’re up there the views of Lanikai are beautiful

Beautiful hike! Saw a monk seal! We went a little too late in the morning, it got super hot by the time we finished. Ended up being 7 miles after walking around the water and trail!

Amazing view!!!!

We loved this hike! We had lots of fun there but make sure to wear really good hiking shoes because it gets very slippery.

The crater is dry and not green. You have to pay to park and walk it. Bring cash bc nothing there takes credit cards. I would park at a lookout point and walk up. It only costs a $1 if you walk through and not drive. In the heat the hike was not easy. Moderate for sure if you take the steps. More on the easy side if you take the ramp.

Very easy to lose the trail. Great views though. Also, I don’t think the distance is correct.

Did ir this morning, DO IT THROUGH ANCHOR CHURCH, best emtrance, security doesnt care, police is all over Haiku Village

I am leaving Hawaii the eve on the 25th. and I'd like to find someone that would join me on the Stairway to Heaven Trail.
Any interest, send me an email to aholenstein@hotmail.com

Loved this hike! Definitely a leg workout with the up and down ridges but the views are worth it!

Took us 1.5 hrs to reach the end of trail. A bit on the cloudy side. We could see ( with my telephoto lens) tanks and amphibious vehicles all along Bellows Beach and the tarmac area. It must be the RIMPAC exercise going on at the present moment. Quite a good cardio workout and its been awhile since we came up here the last time in 2016.
Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail is very similiar to Hawaii Loa Ridge , Kuli’ou’ou Ridge Trail and Mariner’s Ridge ( closed). A longer version of these are the Waahila Ridge Trail to Awa’awa’loa or Olympus and Mau’umae Trail to Lanipo.

Nice and steep but worth the views! Recommend non-soft soled shoes. On the way down, your feet will be sore with soft soles. Great hike!

Great hike trail slippery at points but doable we got to the top in about 50 min and it took about that long to go down. Be careful going down. This was quite taxing physically.

Disappointed the entrance past the golf course gate is closed to hikers after 4pm

Looking to summit this gem around July 26-31! Schedule wise I’m flexible, obviously weather conditions are a major factor DM me instagram: @blount.j

Amazing. Best trail ever in Hawaii ! Must Do !

This trail is marked as Moderate . While it is completely paved it is uphill for 1/2 the loop, whether going clockwise or counter clockwise. And can be a challenge in the heat of the day. But worth the trek

Short and sweet. Dont underestimate the climb up to the arch. Its steep. It's a climb. Not a walk.

Muddiest trail of my life to date. So much mud that people were leaving shoes behind. Beautiful though.

This was an awesome one. I actually didn't finish the trail because I noticed people going down to some tidepools and the climb back up to the trail was intense once I was done down at the pools. It was absolutely worth it though. Watching 30ft waves crash on the rocks was just amazing. No shade on this trail. Parking sucks too. Still so worth it.

I loved this. It was my first solo hike in Hawaii. It was muddy, it rained on me and I dried instantly once out of the rain. It was blissful. Loved the views.

great little hike for kids. we went when it was raining so it was extra muddy, but so much fun with good views and waterfall

I was not prepared for this. I did no research before going and did not have the proper footwear. That said, it was amazing. We saw whales, seals, coral beaches, and great views. The beach at the start was moderately busy. We made it back to the beach by sunset and watched it on the beach. It was New Years Eve and the fireworks during the drive home were insane. Oahu takes their new years fireworks seriously.

Aloha! Hiked the last 4 days this week and will be hiking both days this weekend too! Had an awesome time hiking this past weekend and last week as well. I have hiked most of the hikes on this island many many times! It is often windy and/or rainy but we never have issues as we always have the right gear when we go. If you're looking to hike and want to link up or get some ideas of what this trail looks like feel free to reach out to me on my Instagram @mike.karas or mikekarasphotography@gmail.com. Bring plenty of water for this hike and other hikes out here in Hawaii.

This is a HARD trail. Challenging in every aspect but the views are well worth it

Anyone keen for the hike morning of Saturday, July 21 :)

Not a review - coming from Cali to Hawaii during the week of August 13-18 and hoping to find some adventurous people who are willing to do this hike! I love conversations and am willing to buy you coffee if you’ve done it before:) I’ll also be scuba diving so if anyone has any amazing sites let me know. DM me on instagram: @smartiehardie thanks!!

Very fun family friendly trail! There were so many great views from each of the pill boxes. The trail isn't too hard, it's a little steep at first but it evens itself out and the views are worth it. It was nice to see the bunkers the soldiers worked in. There was also old parts of buildings that lay up there. All in all very great views of sunset beach and a nice short workout!

Great hike, paved all the way. Access to the tide pools is possible from just past the whale watching outpost however DO NOT TAKE BACK PACK KIDS OR THOSE TO SMALL TO CLIMB ON THEIR OWN!

Awesome hike! The trail was in great condition, ropes were secure, weather was gorgeous, not much water on the trail. This is a difficult hike—likes of vertical scrambling, and it’s length makes it tiring. We did the trail in 6 hours, 15 min. We are avid hikers, but we are not super athletes and we don’t move really fast. Beautiful views. Really great way to see the legal way to Haiku stairs.
