Awesome day of hiking today. There’s even a small cave to explore. The tortoises were a nice bonus as well. The views... well words can’t express it. You have to see it for yourself!!

This is hike hosts my favorite views in Kaua’i!

If you are in Kaua’i this is a must see. If you can get here slightly before sunrise this will be one of the best memories you take home with you.

It’s an easy walk but if you go far enough it can be good exercise. There are multiple trails leading to the same place. Many people jog it as well but you miss some of the views on the jogging trail. Not easy enough for those who can’t go up hill around rocks when necessary but good for adults and children.

Awesome hike, kids would love it too(8 and above). We saw lots of turtles along the beautiful coastline. Not too long and not very strenuous, a must if on Kauai.

Amazing views along the trail, ocean breeze and all types of terrain to hike along. Easy with the right shoes and lots if water if course. Great way to spend the day.

It’s somewhere between easy and moderate. You don’t need hiking boots but you should wear shoes and not sandals. The path has some inclines and declines (not difficult), and part of it is alongside the golf course. The challenge for us was where the side brush was so overgrown, it was hard to see the trail. That part lasted a quarter mile, so we were beginning to wonder if it would stay like that the rest of the hike.

Beyond that, there were several lookout spots to get great pictures. Overall, a fun walk.

We loved this hike. It was fairly easy and great ocean views all along the trail. I believe the total round trip was 7.5 miles. If you don’t hike with the app AllTrails- you should give it a try. It will keep you on the right path.

Good workout, pretty view

Get there early if you’re looking for secluded hike.
Very dandy at beginning. Beautiful views, highly recommend.

Easy, beautiful, interesting trail. We did this as a whole family with hikers of all skill levels, and we all enjoyed it. Great views of the coastline throughout. Recommend doing hike in the morning to avoid the heat and the crowds.

This trail was a better workout than I had expected based on reviews. Lots of walking along sand, and it gets really warm with little shade. Very beautiful and scenic hike so worth the views. I was expecting to hike down to a sandy, swimmable beach, and although it was pretty, there were signs saying the bacteria levels were high in the water. So if you’re looking to hike to a secret beach to take a dip in, this isn’t for you. But the views and good workout was worth it for me!

Beautiful hike along the coast with scenic views. Definitely an easy hike.

July, 24, 2018. Great hike along the coast. Tallied up 6.26 RT mileage and suprisedly 1,555' elevation from the trailhead, next the golf club to Makau'wahi Cave Reserve out/back. Although, trekking along the beach, expect to get your sweat on with the tropical humidity and rough terrain when you get to lava trail part. I loved it.

Beautiful views, great for trail running. Gets really hot, I ran early in the morning (before 8am) and it was already hot

A nice and easy walk with an amazing view!

Nice trail for a beautiful leisurely stroll. My husband and I went mid-morning and took a lite snack and water. Not very challenging but views were definitely worth it! Bring water, Not very shady

The views, secluded (compared to Maui) beaches, and 4 sea turtles and 3 monk seals made this hike nothing short of amazing. Flat trail with rocks throughout, don't wear flip flops.

Easy and beautiful
Roughly 5 miles along the Ocean and partially along a great golf course. Would have given 5 stars but it’s not very challenging. The views are great!

Viewz On viewz On viewz. Not very challenging tho.

Great hike but beware of tons of mosquitoes when passing the golf course in the afternoon.

It gets very hot on the trail. I’d recommend a hike in early morning.
The views were very nice.
These is no signs marking the trail anywhere.

Not well marked. Very hot bring lots of water

Definitely do this Trail. As always the earlier the better. Less foot traffic. Trail is not really marked and don’t be concerned about getting lost just keep going east when going out and west when coming back. Near the horseback riding ranch stay high on the trail as there will be less rock hopping. Go all the way to the beach and watch for wedge-tailed shearwater marine birds that nest in that area. Impressive, large marine bird. During whale season I’m sure you will have many sightings. Turtles can be seen from any of the high cliff vantage points. I did see one. Definitely take water as always.

Incredible views the entire route. Great walk/hike for the entire family.

Great ocean views of the crashing waves. Also some spots where you can climb down close to the water and explore small caves.

The view from this trail is amazing! You can see the waves crashing on the cliffs and you can even find some natural pools and a “secret beach” on its way.

Easy trail with awesome view points along the way

very nice views, spectacular area

Great trail. Great view. Well worth the walk. Pack sunscreen. We really enjoyed that walk/hike. Walk til the end to the beach.
