Super awesome falls. Its easy to get lost so here’s some good directions. I hiked so much more Han needed due to hard to find based on it’s all jungle and blend. Someone recent posted directions so park at the Koolou golf course as you face mountains trail starts upper left corner. When you get to the graffiti tank take a left follow the rocky road up. .1 miles later there a big tree to right of you with a arrow carved in pointing right. Go right. Walk 2 mins and there it is! Super beautiful

It was an ok hike, a lot longer than I expected it to be but it’s a nice hike for beginners.

My wife and I were visiting from Washington State and wanted to do something different on this trip.
I’m an avid hiker and she agreed to go on a hike with me so long as we could see a waterfall.
I picked this one because it didn’t look too difficult and we could hit the beach later in the day.
We started at the Pali lookout and had trouble finding the trailhead. It’s to the right of the viewpoint but you have to jump over barricades and past the “Danger Falling Rocks” signs.

My reaction “this trail is going to be awesome!”
Wife’s reaction “you didn’t say we were in danger!”
We followed the trail for about a mile and came to a junction. This is where it got tricky. We passed along behind a fence and down the trail for about .75 miles before I realized we should have went left. Doubled back and found that the trail that goes under the highway.
You will go down a ladder and duck walk under the overpass.
My reaction “yay, and extra couple of miles!”
Wife’s reaction “I’m going to kill you in your sleep!”
It follows an old road and then gets “difficult”.
Now the trail is pretty overgrown and takes a couple of switchbacks.

My reaction “what an awesome adventure”.
Wife’s reaction, “we are going to die”.
The trail goes up a steep muddy hill, then keeps winding around the trees and mud. Did I mention the mud?
My reaction, “this trail is pretty neat and different from those in Washington”.
My wife's reaction, “this might be the last waterfall I ever see before I die!”

We came to another Y in the trail just before the falls. We found out from other hikers that this trail goes for about .5 miles to a church and large parking lot. This news didn’t bode well for me. Once we found out there was a shortcut I was a wanted man.
We checked out the waterfall took some pictures and went out via the “shortcut” to the church, called and Uber and made it back to our car.
All in all we did just under 5 miles.
My wife did not die, but she did slip in the mud pretty good. She hasn’t divorced me yet. We will see how her legs feel in the morning though.

Bottom line, this is not a beginner hike. Wanna see the falls with a rookie hiker? Take the shortcut and stay married.

Great Day for Likeke Falls hike today. For a short hike to a nice waterfall park at Koolau Golf course. As you face the mountains the trail head starts in upper left corner of parking lot. Short hike to graffiti water tank. Go left up trail at water tank. Follow trail over old rock road until coming to large tree on right of trail with carved black arrow. Turn right on trail towards falls. Great view of Kaneohe Bay from falls. Trail continues past falls if you follow stream down hill and get trail on left.

Very easy hike, but worth the view! You can park at the church/golf parking lot after 11:30am. They're super strict on that! Bring bug spray!

Love this one. Muddy and buggy but so much fun

More an easy hike instead of moderate, had large group of kids ages between 4 and 9 and they had no problem walking, some even in slippers although I would not recommend that. Nice little waterfall, bring bug spray!

Great hike for children my 3 year old was able to hike the whole way tot he waterfall unassisted. Needed hand holding on the way back down because of the mud. Lots of mosquitoes so bug spray is a must. Recommend to anyone with children who wants to get them out for a quick afternoon adventure.

Fantastic choice for first timers or visitors wanting to get a bird’s eye view of the island! It’s extremely windy, so be prepared to get blown around a bit.
My favorite part of this location is the history. I first visited as a field trip for my college class, and it’s amazing to picture the important battles that took place on the mountain sides. It’s also a bit scary to imagine the men who jumped rather than be taken prisoner!
It gives a gorgeous view of the oceanfront and mountainsides, and you can usually spot a storm rolling in over the valley.

Nice hike. Interesting to start downhigh and return uphill. You can also approach the falls from below (search Likeke Falls Trail), which is an easier and shorter hike.

I’d say easy over moderate. Very nice little waterfall though.

Very nice hike. Easy and short enough for my 3 and 6 year olds. It was muddy in places, so take a bag for your shoes...unless you don't mind getting your car muddy.

Lots of mosquitoes so don't forget the bug spray!

Wonderful hike! Great in the morning got there around 8 took about an hour to the top and back. We got lost twice. When driving to the trailhead it seems like your going to the Pali golf course and the First Presbyterian Church. Parking at the church is free and easy to get to the trail take the trail on the left with the chain. The reason we got lost is because we made it to the graffitied water tower if you make it there turn around. There is a trail up a hill to the left before the water tower take this to the big tree and make a right there is an arrow. Not too far after the tree to get to the beautiful falls. It does gets muddy in spots and a walking stick is very helpful have fun and be safe!

Out of the short hikes I have done on the island, this one is my favorite. The waterfall is awesome! The path wasn’t even too muddy. We parked at the Koolau Conference Center to get to the trailhead.

The reviews on this site were extremely helpful in navigating the trail. When you get the graffiti tower look to the left for the trail. Once you hit the cobblestone path, keep going until you see a large tree on your right with an arrow carved into it, pointing right to the falls. Enjoy!

Wonderful short hike with a great reward. When you get to the graffitied tower look to your left. That’s where the trail starts... eventually the trail becomes cobblestoned. After around 7 mins you’ll come to big tree in your right. Has an arrow carved in. Make a right.

I did get also confused and ended up hiking an extra half of mile in a very hard route . Extra exercise :) . Very nice and short hike and good for the family . Plenty of parking on a Sunday afternoon . We saw a few other hikers which is always nice .

yup we miss that right turn by the big tree. But it was okay. It wasn’t just us. Six other people missed it too

The trail is very poorly marked. You have to make a right turn off of the cobblestone portion towards the beginning of the hike. If you miss the turn and try to go by the maps on here you will get lost like we did. A leisurely hike in the woods turned into an 4 mile uphill jungle excursion with my 65 y/o parents.
So be very careful not to miss the right turn at the big tree and it should be a good time.

Very pretty lookout over the city by the waterfall. When you get to the graffitied water tower go left up the path (not around the tower). A little ways up the cobble stone you need to take a right. There’s a tree with a small carved arrow.

Nice short hike even for mid day

Beautiful little hike. Best part is the walk to the falls and seeing all the beautiful trees. The waterfall itself didn't blow anyone away but it was a really short and sweet hike. Good for babywearing.

Fun trail!! Kids luv’d the waterfall at the top!!

great short hike with a beautiful small waterfall

Great views. Good hike.

Nice easy hike with kids. Nice guy on the trail advised us to ensure and take the first trail on the right while on the rock path. Great advice.

missed the turn off to the right and got lost in the jungle! the map in this app also goes here there and everywhere so be careful. look for a massive thick tree with a scratched arrow. ...go right there

Nice short hike, the falls won't blow you away but hiking anywhere in Hawaii nei is always an awesome time.
