But please get in the water! Nice waves on some spot for boards, and nice snorkeling too.

Beautiful scenery. Areas of the trail had many options and were not well marked. Recommend using the app to stay on track.

went 12/26/18 with family. if your decide to go here be warned that it can become quite crowded. there is rock reef for snorkling. a cool deli across the street had amazing delicious sandwiches. if your go I advise either early morning to noon or 3 to night fall. anything from 11-2 is crucial and will sunburn!!! around 3ish the tide comes in and it can bring see turtles. please give your distance and respect. the 7 year old and 19 month old had a blast in the water. it stays shallow all the way to the rock reef.

Great for those not wanting to hike or just wanting a beach stroll

Beautiful views and very enjoyable.

April 2018- Unreal beauty. We saw monk seals at sunrise. No dicey/ unsafe sections. Expect lots of webs (but ample parking) first thing in the morning. Loved the turtle enclosure. It could be marked a little better in the beginning. Overall, a can’t miss in Kauai in our opinion! Took us about 4 hours.

easy walk, beautiful coastal views, fun trail for family, and couples.

This is not a trail. Not sure why it is listed as such. Literally just a paved walkway to the beach that you can see from the parking lot. The beach can be very crowded but is one of the nicer spots for swimming on the island.

Great hike. Awesome views. But beware of a dangerous river crossing near the Makauwahi cave. There is something like quicksand at the bottom of the creek near the beach, and my wife nearly drowned. There is a bridge. Make sure you use it.

Past the bay trying to ascend to ridge looking over kipu kai. Keawe and lantana thorns everywhere. And the cairns of 10 years ago all gone. Hand over food scramble to top. Easy to get lost. Not a true trail. Difficult.

Easy Hike along the coast with scenic views. We hiked all the way to Gillin’s Beach and were lucky to see a Monk Seal on the beach there.

The beach is beautiful with lots of turtles and surfers in the waves. As you follow the trail you come across an awesome vantage point for sunrise and the spot doubles as a great cliff jumping spot! Walking along the coastline you will get a magnificent view of the Kauai coastline. Great all around hike!

The views were great once we got past the golf course!

Mostly Flat, not a very challenging trail.
Part of the trail is along the cart path of the Poipu bay golf course.

We hiked it right after a little rain so parts of the trail where very slippery.

I do feel that the "moderate" tag is a little dramatic, it was a fairly easy trail, if you have done any type of hiking you will be fine.

Word of advice, wear proper shoes, we passed a gal she had cut her foot when she slipped while wearing flip flops.

Like other users wrote, a “moderate” rating is a bit too high for this trail, as it is mostly flat and not super technical. However, seeing as though this trail takes you along the cliffs and ocean, you can easily make it anything from moderate to deadly depending on your skill level and stupidity.

The trail is not well marked but we found the user trails all generally ended up in the right place and you can easily make course adjustments for a better view or easier terrain depending on preference. As long as you are “generally” headed east/north on the way out or west/south on return you’ll get there.

The part by the golf course is a bit lame but quick; otherwise mostly spectacular coast and mountain / valley views the whole time. Keep an eye out for sea life along the way, and peak into the tide pools if accessible to find hidden surprises. Don’t forget to explore the cave area and spend some time looking at the tortoises just on the other side of the footbridge. Past the footbridge I’d recommend staying on the beach around the point instead of following the trail - the trail takes you down a utility road and the beach is ultimately more scenic. We were fortunate enough to see a mother monk seal and her two day old pup on the beach this way - never would have seen that on the trail!

Overall, a nice low-key hike. Not challenging or technical but don’t wear sandals or flip flops. Being mostly exposed wear a hat and bring lots of water. Pick a spot on the cliffs after the beach for lunch and continue on or turn back.

Great easy walk to shipwreck beach and beyond - definitely climb up the point and go out to the end for an amazing view.

Great easy and huge high rock jump at the end, caves, tide pools, beautiful beach! Lovely walk great if you have little kids and our teens loved it!

It was a really nice and easy hike of about 6 miles round trip and some rewarding coastal sites as well as a cave and tortoises. There is full sun exposure pretty much the whole hike so I recommend either early in the morning or really cover up. I also recommend taking fluids as you are crossing a mini desert out there. Otherwise, take in the great views and lack of muddy rocks (it was a relief not to have that obstacle in the hike)

Beautiful vistas. Extend the hike past the stables two more beaches.

My 20 week pregnant wife and I did this hike early last week. Conditions were dry with a little wind. For sure an easy skill level. This is a great trail to get you 'warmed up' for the others on the island. We found ourselves staring in awe at the natural beauty along the coastline.

This was a reasonably easy hike. We did see some wearing slippers, but not recommended. Start hike at bluff at east end of Shipwrecks Beach, otherwise you will miss a good portion of the beautiful sea cliffs—and stay back from the edge!

It's a hike not a bike path. Wear good shoes. Tennis shoes should be fine. Do not wear flip flops!!!! Pay attention there are sharp rocks around. Take water
