My husband, dog, and I really enjoyed this trail. Parked by the theater and walked through the pet cemetery (not along the road). We went counterclockwise, so the steep part was out of the way at the beginning. The views were good, and we were the only ones on the trail. The beehives were easily avoidable except for one, and we just patiently waited for them to do their thing. We enjoyed this one more than Aiea and Pupukea.

Bring bug spray.

Trail starts off steep and muddy so be sure to grab a walking stick at the beginning of the trail. After the muddy start the trail dries up and flattens our with a few random steep areas. The view at the top is breathtaking and worth the hike.

Short trail with an easy to follow path and lots of shade. Not a whole lot to see, although many of the trees were labeled. There’s a nice view of Kaneohe Bay at the lookout. It’s really more of a nature walk than a hike and the signs warning about ticketing if you park at all on the paved road made me nervous.

Well-groomed trail with a nice waterfall at the end. Trail gets a little slick during rain.
Mosquitos weren’t as bad as other reviews lead me to believe.

The views are amazing at the top, as are the WW2 bunkers! It started raining as we were coming down and if it is wet, it makes it very slick coming down in the mud! Be prepared to slip and slide if wet.

Our favorite on the island so far. Great views but parking is sooooo limited.

Definitely go when it hasn’t been raining! Great hike and the views at the end are awesome. This trail can be very muddy and a challenge at the beginning and end. Not many look-out spots and also nicely shaded.

Great trail, very muddy, and amazing views at the end make all the slipping around worth it. Make sure you have god hiking shoes or spikes to go over shoes to make this an easier hike on yourself. Ropes are along the trail in the rough spots, but if it’s been raining then shoes are the better beat.

Good hike that was great for a 7.5 year old boy

Easy, good for kids.

It’s a very beautiful fun for kids. Can feed the ducks and fish.

Had a blast! Did this in the light rain which was fun. Bring water shoes and something to swim in. The waterfall at the end makes for some great photo ops. There is a “pool” you can swim in and set up a fire for a party as well. Good times ya

The trail was very muddy! I think it will would have been more enjoyable if I had brought some hiking poles. The mud didn't bother us, but it makes the trail really slick. Nice views of kaneohe and Kailua

amazing views. I did this hike with my 3 year old. she walked half the way the other half I had her on my back. We all loved it and will be doing this hike again.

Look up HTMC Kawa’ea’e (Friendship Garden/Kokokahi/Oneawa Hills) hike schedule and it should be cleared before they hike it. They will usually hike it in a loop.

Great Trail. Trailhead is hard to find. There are ropes near the street. It was muddy but big fun and nice vieles. Thanks to the guys who have marked the trail so well!

Nice little hike, easy to navigate since most of the trail is paved or well-traversed. It’s a little sketchy because there’s “No Trespassing” signs everywhere, but a local who lives in the neighborhood said everyone goes anyways. We had great weather, but as soon as we left it looked like the rain clouds were rolling in. Trails could get slippery very fast!

FYI - A local resident put a self-serve vending machine in their front yard, so if you forgot a drink, seek that out!

11/22/2018-Started around 0800 and encountered 5 groups and one friendly pit bull mix who followed us until he found his owner. (Super cute dog.) The trail was a little wet with some slick areas but it was a pretty awesome Thanksgiving Day!

11/12/2018-Started around 0745 and came across 3 groups of people. Weather was overcast and drizzled on us a little on the way back. Unfortunately, we only made it about halfway through the trail before having to turn back because of all the overgrowth (trail definitely isn’t maintained on a regular basis); grasses were easily 6’ tall along the narrow trail path.

Great easy trail with an amazing waterfall at the end! Second half was a little steep but nothing a hiking newbie couldn’t handle. It is on private property but as long as you’re respectful it isn’t a problem.

Not too difficult, but definitely you will need a hiking boots. Gets slippery after the rain. No scenic views, since you are going through the woods. However the waterfall is amazing.

This is a pretty easy, cool trail with many different sections and cool plants. The bamboo forest is really interesting to walk through. It's good to go once or twice for a quick, easy nature hike.

It rained the day before. The trail was extremely muddy and slick. Definitely recommend having good hiking shoes for this trail just for the sake of traction. Lots of roots and big branches you have to duck underneath towards the middle of the hike. The view is amazing. We had a decent breeze. But very humid. Started off around 9 am. It was about 89 degrees when we finished. You just hit these pockets of hot air during the hike. Bring a bottle of water with you. Not sure if I’d do this one again. The view is gorgeous but I personally don’t like this much mud on my hikes. Call me dainty if ya want. Ha.

Protip: make sure to use bug spray. We sprayed before the hike and I still managed about a dozen bites. Imagine if I didn’t have any spray on.

Pretty muddy for the first 1000 yds. After that it dried out. My 10 yr old twins and 7 yr old had a good time.

First half of the hike is easy and the hills get relatively steep for the second half. The waterfall is worth the trek.

A beautiful place to relax and stay for some hours. The nature is amazing and the whole area is pretty clean.

Slippery and muddy if it rains but the views are well worth the hike
