Very busy with lots of other walkers. Great views though.

Might have given this a five star except it was so cloudy when we did this hike so didn’t get any views at the top, also poured on the way down making the trail muddy and a bit treacherous. Definitely recommend hiking shoes in any weather given the grade. Good workout but doable for moderately fit novice hikers.

My family and I had an amazing experience. It is kid and dog friendly and as well very easy to make it up with a stroller. I recommend this trail to all age groups .

The canal can be pretty if you catch it at the right time and the the right angle, was no garbage interview. Sad because it COULD BE an urban gem.

This trail is absolutely awesome. Be ready for lots of mud in spots, and if you have trail shoes you’ll be fine. It felt like we went through several different climates along this trail. It starts out in a beautiful forest, turns into brush with steep climbs and descents (not the most fun part- you will get scratched by bushes), then the dryer areas toward the end which is mostly clay but there are random patches of grassy areas with some trees. You’re hiking mostly down on the way out, mostly up on the way back. Make it to the end because the view is the best I’ve ever seen. There is nothing like it!!

It is recommended that you are quiet, stealthy, and respectful if you come to this strange and beautiful place, not only because you are trespassing, but because there is some non-corporeal entity watching you. It is not recommended that you leave your trash behind on the trail, but if you decide to, it pleases me to remove it for you.

Tired of the monotony of getting dirty and having near death experiences trying to reach some jaw dropping view? This peaceful and beautiful walk through the woods can help break that up. Sadly there was not as much garbage to pick up as I'm used to, until detouring over to the 'Ualaka'a loop, where people seem to find it a more suitable environment to leave their trash behind. Say hello to the cats and chickens living in harmony in the parking lot.

It was ok. There was a chance to go through a creek and interesting to see the different types of tree.

This trail is a great hike and the views are breathtaking the whole way up. I was glad I was wearing hiking shoes as it definitely helps to have some extra traction. We started up the trail at 7:45 am, stopping a lot to take pictures. Just after we left the top the clouds and a light rain came in making the trail very slippery and muddy. Total time on the trail was 3 1/2 hours.

Our hike was a bit of a bummer. We started at 9:30 am. The cloud cover was so thick that you couldn't see any of the beautiful views that you read about in other reviews. The trail was also very muddy due to recent rains, so it was difficult for small children to navigate. I have no doubt that it is a beautiful hike on a clear, dry day. But we didn't have that. I would start this hike early in the morning so that you beat the cloud cover, and pay attention to the weather before heading out. if you go on a day like we had, it's just a moderately difficult up and back hike with nothing much to see.

Pretty windy up at the top, but the view was wonderful!

We were here today with our 4 and 6 year old Girls and it was hard. For hiking the trail with kids i‘d like to recommend the age of the kids with 6 or older. The waterfall was much fun.

Awesome views! It took me 2.5 hours to finish the hike but I stopped to take pictures along the way. Make sure if you bring your dog they don’t slip down the edge. Most of the time there’s a steep cliff on one of your sides. I parked at the bottom of the gate and walked up to the starting point then when I finished I had a shorter walk down to my car.

Awesome views! Quick to the top! 1-2 hours, depending on pace.

Great hike! Definitely agree with some of the reviewers that rec. to go right to start with the steep uphill climb. At the top before going down definitely rec. to take the Moleka Trail. It’s a great out and back trail through a bamboo forest.

It was the best part of Maui for us, well this and snorkeling. The lookouts were absolutely stunning. Try to beat the fog rolling in or you won’t have much views from the top. Also this is rated moderate, but it’s basically 2 miles up hill and then 2 miles down hill. (I did just have a baby 4 months ago, but I would rate it hard for the fact that it’s ALL uphill, then your poor knees going down) but totally worth it, if you need to stop, wait until the wooden built lookout past 1 mile, it’s a gorgeous view even if you can’t make it farther :)

Please don't "climb over the rocks" to get a better view. We have had rain here everyday for over a month. I work across the street- the river is fast and high.

Very easy and fast hike... there was no parking near it though, all the old parking is now blocked off

The Brochure to Kamananui Valley Road.

We started on Kamahele and hiked through, then looped back to our starting point via residential streets. Great hike!

Quick and easy view. Not really a hike at all. Except to go up the stairs to see it from the top.

A beautiful hike! Able to see the coast line, which is one of the best parts of the island. It was a bit muddy when we went in March, but with careful footing it was not too bad. Would recommend this hike.

The hike was absolutely beautiful! It was like no other hike I have ever been on. My family and I went right after it had rained so the trail was very muddy and slippery, making it hard to hike up and even harder to hike down, but it was totally worth it! It took us just over two hours.

This track is not complete. It’s an 11 mile out and back from the Aiea Loop Trail to the KST (Ko’olau Summit Trail).

Overall, not bad for an 11 miler. I caught it on a dry day. There was mud, but not too many crazy puddles. I managed to complete it in about 5.5 hours. Views at the summit at the KST are awesome, getting a great perspective of both sides of the island.

Went today and it was beautiful! Lots of roots and rocks, on the harder side of moderate. Not much to look at along the hike but the waterfall is nice and cold. Saw many kids doing the hike. Don’t let the easy beginning fool you.

A nice quick run up and down the trail this morning. It was slightly wet and muddy in places. I can’t imagine what this place looks like after rainfall. There were families, including young and old, climbing and descending. Everyone looked like the were having a good time.

The view from the top is ok. Nothing to write home about.... but this is Hawaii and experiences and memories are what makes life so special.

Best panoramic views I’ve seen on Oahu. My knees took a beating but it was a really fun trail with a few exciting rope scrambling spots, beautiful ridge views and sweeping island views.

It was alright. Not the pretty hike along the water we were hoping for. The highlight was the Alan Davis Beach.
