Awesome views and great shrimp trucks!

Just wow, I can’t believe places like this exist. The waterfalls are gorgeous and they fall in to such a beautiful canyon. Be careful at the end of the trail, it looks like it would be easy to slip and fall off the cliffs.

This trail is amazing, the hike back is very arduous, but the views are so worth it. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing at the end of the trail, it felt like we were on another planet.

This is the Maunawili Trail.

No need to squeeze thru the gate. Start from the Pali Hwy hairpin turn trailhead or from Waimanalo side. You can also start from Maunawili Falls trailhead and use the connector trail to connect to Maunawili Trail.

Maunawili Trail and Maunawili Falls Trail are two different trails.

Is there someone whos up to do it together and make the White Road Hike to the waterslide aswell?

I dont know if there are guards, would be nice if someone can give Information about the situation

Will anyone be doing the hike tomorrow, 9/24? I know it’s last minute but I’d love a buddy. I have a great camera and I’m a skilled photographer who can take pictures of you! Dm me on Instagram @davidinaustralia

Stay on the trail and don’t try like I did to go to the left right under the summit to do a loop to go thru this waterfall valley. I wasted a ton of time on an overgrown trail and had to go back anyways and use a headlight at the very end of the hike which wasn’t fun.
After the landslide it still looks pretty fine.

Yes I think it should be rated as Difficult primarily due to the length and the last section before the Koolau where it can be very unkempt and slow going.

Amazing snorkeling, swam upon 3 green sea turtles and psychedelic fish.

Magical beach, absolute worth spending a full day at with lunch and beers. Hike through exposed black lava fields so lather up on sunscreen in/out.

underwhelming. would do for sunrise or if you're already stopped at the blowholes but not as a single destination hike.

enjoyed this little trafficked trail. the start is easy to find and then either direction a steep climb up to the ridgeline. trail is mostly well marked and fairly wide with the exception of a small portion leading up to KST via the wailupe middle ridge and KST itself. view from the top great on a clear day. took about three hours for an experienced hiker on a dry day

Beautiful hiking spot along the cost line of Ke'aana point especially afternoon sunset is "AMAZING... You can do it

My best hiking spot here in Oahu...You need tons of energy. Not good for the beginner

This was a great hike with a mini Koko Head at the top of the trail. Best views of the island!

Wow we only did the first peak but it was so worth it. My wife decided NOT to do the vertical climb, which was a good decision as she would probably not been able to get down or the shear ridge part. I would have continued if I had more water and she was on top of the first peak. Bring LOTS of water, I had 2 litres and ran out at the end. There is some good parking beside the bus stop. Do not park anywhere that says no parking or on the sidewalk across from the bus shelter as you will get towed or a ticket. Thankfully some locals gave us the heads up.

Aloha! I will be hiking this weekend and possibly during the week. We went the last two days and it was amazing out! I have went 13 times the last three weeks. I have hiked most of the hikes on this island many many times! I have probably done this particular hike more than anyone else on island. It is often windy and/or rainy but we never have issues as we always have the right gear which is supplied by me when we go. If you're looking to hike and want to link up or get some ideas of what this trail looks like feel free to reach out to me on my Instagram @mike.karas or mikekarasphotography@gmail.com. Bring plenty of water for this hike and other hikes out here in Hawaii.

k1 and k2 are the twin peaks of Konahuanui, the highest point on the Koolau range.

A pretty walk to check out the Banyan Trees and there is also a pillbox. Very easy to check off the list. You can walk along the beach, so bring your suit and get in the water.

Wasn’t expecting that. Clockwise feels like a cheat code because the tough part of the hike was the East side up Wailupe ridge (done both directions). Did counterclockwise and it was overgrown on the upper half. We elected to go back the way we came because it was raining hard at the top with no view and the saddle ridge between Wailupe overlook and Williwilinui was muddy and not worth the risk. Unless you hike all the time and have lungs of steel this hike will probably take you 5-6 hours, (took us 6). Take plenty of water. Lots of orchids and native plants. Wish the app showed me which direction I’m facing on the map. Path was washed out from a recent TS so got lost for 10 minutes. Overall, challenging, steep, long hike for all of 5+ miles with some great views any all directions of the East side.

Jet lagged, I left the north shore at 5 AM. I stopped at Starbucks in Lihue and then again at Ishihara Market in Waimea for snacks along the way. I arrived at the trailhead at 7:30 and there was only 1 other car there already. The viewpoint at the end of this trail, past the guardrail, is absolutely stunning! I lingered at the view point for maybe 20-30 minutes and took a casual pace throughout, arriving back at my car around 12:30. I passed plenty of people on my way back and the parking lot was overflowing when I returned, so start early if you'd like some solitude!

The canyon trail is a must to see in Kauai !! Wonderdul landscapes canyon and the falls are amazing

This trail is cool if you want to access to a nice snorckelling spot, first part in the forest and second part in the stones decor with nice view on the ocean, if you go at 17:00-18:00 you can see a wonderdul sunset !!

We did this trail at 6pm , as the sun was setting. You get the best breezes & what a great view!! A little steep at the beginning, but it gets easier- or you get used to it- as you go up. Kid friendly trail we will do again for sure. Don’t forget flashlights if you go in the evening, as the way down it not lit & the path runs along the cliff at some points.
