Nice trail. Just a little short. Going downhill sucked Beautiful falls though and well worth the short walk!

Beautiful trail. Took two hours at a reasonable pace. Hit the trail after 3 days of heavy rain, so there was no avoiding getting wet crossing 5 roaring streams. The overlook is awe inspiring, so be sure to take that little five minute detour. The trail markers can get confusing, as there are 3 at times: green rectangle, green diamond, and red rectangle. The park needs to redo the trail map so the markers match what the map says there are, as the map says Coosa is blue. Do this one counter clockwise, as clockwise would be like climbing stairs. Definitely going back.

It’s great for trail running. Challenging ups and downs and the signs clearly mark where you are. There are short inner loop and longer outer loop options.

There is no trail here. Someone just recorded their walk around the campground. The campground is for campers only. The campground is great for camping though.

Awesome property and super awesome history. Love this place, will be back next time I'm down. It took awhile to find the falls, I guess we were a bit sleepy or something as they can almost be seen from the main entrance. Lots of rocks and roots so keep your toes up! I stubbed a toe and almost crashed. This is a must hike or trail run for everyone in Atlanta. Come on, get out there, do it!

nice history and view

very steep, just take your time. The views are amazing!

lovely wildflowers and other bonuses for the explorer...

This trail was well worth the wonderful waterfall view. Hemlock was beautiful. Downfalls though include being heavily populated and it claims to be dog friendly but the metal grate stairs are far from friendly on the dog's feet. I wouldn't do it again with my dog unless he had some type of boot.

This trail was Great! Lots of good views. Gave us both a good workout. Crowded at first but once you get on the actual loop people are fairly spaced out and not too crowded. Good for dogs too!

Walking trail with marsh on both sides of trail. An observation tower and two wooden bridges make viewing water for turtles and even alligators an easy task. Perfect for dogs on leash.

This is a pretty nice trail for a quick jog. There's some very nice lakes and picnic tables around. I saw a sick mountain bike trail that I'd love to try! There's also little streams around which was nice to hear during my walk.

Love this area. Quiet and secluded camping and high shoals falls has always been a favorite of mine. Short fun hike down to the falls and worth the treck back!

OK. This is a bit of a surprise. Easy walk down and back up. Well maintained. But the waterfall at the end is amazing. You get to see one of the best falls in the area and it's only a mile or so there. Much better than hiking 8 miles through crazy terrain for a little trickle of water! This one is HUGE. The kids loved it - great picture opportunity !

Trail was mostly uphill the whole way. We weren’t expecting the stone stairs at the top but they aren’t too bad, just wish the railing extended up the whole stairway. The fall is a little anticlimactic but there’s an awesome spot where you can sit and hang out behind the fall and cool off before you head back down. Seemed like it took us an hour to get to the top and about 15 minutes back to the car. Going out is way quicker and easier than the hike up. Altogether had a great time, I wouldn’t want to do it in the hotter summer months but the weather was beautiful so we got a little sun without dying of heat stroke

Absolutely love this trail! We went Saturday 4/21... reading the other reviews I thought there would be a lot more flowers then there were. I would wait another week or two and it should be fully bloomed... but still beautiful! The best time to go is early am when the birds are waking. I love watching the sun rise through the canopy. Whole trail is well covered all the way back to the falls. Which we’re running quite well. Took a 4 year old and she did good, still learning to watch where she’s placing her feet so a few spills but nothing major.

Hike from hog mountain to cow rock mountain. Cool hike as the fog was sticking to the trees.

Fun hike- beautiful scenery at the bottom.

Easy, short hike!

This trail is 10 minutes from me and I take my husky here for exercise 2-3 times a week. Well kept, nice scenery, and plenty of rest areas if needed.

Great hike, easy with a “moderate” section or two. Falls all along the creek are gorgeous. The falls at the cliff (especially up inside) are worth the climb.

Great hike, pretty landscape. Killer climb out... after you go down to the river, the walk out is steep but an amazing workout.

This was a great hike. The walk along the river was one of the prettiest we have seen. The views and sounds felt like you were a million miles away. Be sure and get a Land Use pass or take ur fishing/hunting license. This is state land and they are checking for the permit. It helps support the upkeep. You cannot buy it on site.

Trail was easy to find. The porta potty had a sign on it that said due to lack of donation they are unable to keep up with the maintenance. Started walking the trail, and it was very pleasant, but NOT clearly marked. There are no trees marked in between trail markers and it is very easy to end up off course. We ended up miles off the loop turning a 9 mile loop into a 13.5 mile hike before we finally called forestry because we were running out of light.

nice trail. can easily become a 3 points of contact scramble if you get off the trail. beautiful waterfall.

Amazing waterfall! Keep this in mind: there are two ways to get the waterfall. One is via a trail in the woods which you get to by entering the visitor center and going out the back door. The other is via stairs that run next to the waterfall. To get to the stairs you need to go past the visitor center and walk up the road a bit. The trail is fairly steep with some moderate terrain if you are amateurs like us. NOT recommended for dogs or kids. Nonetheless it only takes about 40 minutes to get to the top of the waterfall via the trail. We walked back to the visitors center via the stairs which offers some amazing photo opportunities.

Very hard trail but well maintained and marked.

vista maravillosa, el lugar muy bonito...

I am definitely out of shape.
