Relatively easy and short hike to the overlook. Beautiful views and trail is well maintained. Dog friendly. Outhouse available in parking area.

Fun trail with a great water source at Gooch shelter.

It was a good hike. Overlook from Preachers Rock was nice and then about a 1/4 mile further was a barely maintained trail to the right that went to another overlook.

Great trail. Awesome views.

Absolutely loved the view!!! This hike is a MUST!

Great place. Steep at places, but well worth the view.

my favorite hike so far! beautiful

The hike is pretty easy and the view is lovely.

Awesome trail. At trail head take the trail to the right. Amazing canopy along the way. Dog friendly. Amazing views at the top! Well worth it! Will do this again!

This place is beautiful! I didn’t do much walking but it’s very quiet on a Sunday afternoon. It feels like a quiet hideaway but still near civilization.

Great trail and view. we took our dog and she enjoyed it too. I would suggest getting there early if you plan on hiking during a nice weekend day as the parking area was full by 1130am yesterday.

great trail, beautiful view, moderate level

We stated this section with car camping at Woody. Nice views!

2/27/18: It was not as impressive as Big Cedar Mountain but still fun.

Pretty dope trail. Super easy. Amazing view!

Pleasant afternoon hike for Wife and I to Preachers Rock (approx 1 Mile to rock). Great views along they way, particularly from top of rock. Will do this one again! Moderate to Easy.

Was a great short hike for the family. Youngest being seven years old. Nice trail, great views and not crowded on a weekday in February.

Such a beautiful view at Preachers Rock! When you first come up to the trail you can go left of right... no idea where left goes, but right goes up to Preachers Rock so if that’s where you’re trying to go, take the trail to the right!

Absolutely stunning views at Preachers Rock

Nice hike with different types of forest. Very little traffic - I’ve hiked twice in Dec the past two years and have yet to see another hiker. Mill Shoals Trail seems to be the steeper ascent, so you can choose you level of difficulty to a degree. There is notice from the Ranger station (Dec 2017) that Yellow Mountain trail is closed between Addie Gap and Shope Gap trail. There are a lot of recent downed trees that have been cleared, but we found the trail passable from west to the log bridge over Bryant Creek. The log bridge is in disrepair and while still standing, is probably not safe passage. As long as you are willing to forego the last 0.5 mi to Addie Gap turnaround, this is still a nice day hike..

Hiked this the day after it snowed. Beautiful hike with great views!

Easy hike. I used this trail to connect from Coosa Back Country to Duncan and over to the AT

Perfect hike with a huge pay off at the summit. Perfect for beginners and a must do for the seasoned hiker.

Been a few times now. Little bit of something for everyone. First 3/4 mile gentle easy hike then next 1/4 mile tough uphill for most. Great overlook approximately a mile from woody gap.

Spectacular view from Preachers Rock!!!! Would love to go back at peak fall color next year.

Great trail with a moderate incline in the middle. Preachers Rock view is well worth the hike

This trail was very pretty during the autumn when I hiked it, it leads to a large flat rocked area with a beautiful view. Wasn't a very hard hike either

preachers rock overlook was great, the rest was so so... Great hike with fur babies or older kids though
