I have walked the scenic and historic riverfront many times, living just up the coast in Charleston for years. I also never missed a chance to make a stop in Savannah’s Candy Kitchen...both impressive and very delicious!

Not a trail. Can be crowded with tourists. Come back for St. Patrick's Day celebration.

Make it a figure 8 by crossing over through the middle of the park and enjoy the Fountain.

Great walk along the river with good views and many historic buildings.

Very few people, came with our two dogs who both have some leash anxiety and found that it was a pretty great location for some on leash training. Lots of options for making the trails shorter or longer.

Overall fun trail. Once you get past the curve where the river is you loose the breeze and the normal GA bugs come out to attack.

Beautiful trail and state park over all! I also camped here overnight, and the service and facilities were well kept and amazingly clean. The state park also does group hikes, such as the night hike I attended for part of the trail. Would recommend! There was one downed tree impeding part of the Earthworks trail, but it was easy enough to go around.

Great track for running! 2.5 times around is the equivalent of a 5K for training purposes. Watch out for the snakes on the wooded part in the late evening and early morning.

Pretty easy hike, would hesitate to call this trail “moderate.” Nice shade, placards along the way describing points of interest.

The sidewalk is less than 1 mile .9 to exact. very difficult at times to run. Tourists, SCAD students, and lots vehicle traffic. At the bottom of my list as a place to run.

Very simple and very easy. Do bring bug spray.

The trail was pretty good me and my friends went out there and completed it. Some issues on the trail though lots of the area was damaged and are unsafe to cross I don’t recommenced that you attempt unless you are confident with your balance and bring friends

We loved walking this trail with our dog! There is a $5 parking fee, but it’s worth it to spend a couple hours walking nicely kept, well marked trail. Will definitely be back as it’s the best nature walks we’ve found close to Savannah!

The trail itself is well established, narrow, shaded, and the forks are unmarked. You’ll have to pay attention to what turns you take so you can make it back. I might just be a wuss but this trail had a large amount of wildlife that made me nervous walking it with my dog. We saw an alligator right on the edge of the pond and a pretty darn large (2-3 ft long) snake right on the trail. Not to mention all the bugs this time of year. Much more of a “natural” trail then the near by state park trails.

I did this trail after getting done with a work conference in Savanah. I was looking for something that wasn't out in the open, around 3 to 4 miles in length and within an hrs drive. To my surprise there's not a whole lot of hikes around that meet this criteria. At least that I could find. So, this was it. Very pretty park overall. They really maintain it well, making the $10 fee worthwhile. Staff was also friendly. I found the all trails map lined up well with the trail. The trail is in the shade almost the entire time which was great and there was a decent breeze. Bathrooms and little store are at ther visitor center. Don't bother with their trail maps. They are barely legible. My cell service worked throughout the park so I just used the all trails map. While the trail is nice, well marked and maintained it was almost boring. Way too easy. It was enough to get the blood moving though so hard to complain.

Doesn’t look like 2 miles. Looks like the loop on the map is drawn twice around the trail. I believe it’s only a mile.

Definitely a good trail.

Basic trail with a couple nice views. Super flat and welcoming to all skill levels.

Dog friendly shaded trail with pretty views of the marsh. This trail was an easy loop. There were a few tree roots otherwise pretty easy walk.

bridge out

Loved the location. Parked by the bridge to the fort and ran west. There has not been any maintenance done for the first 3 miles. A few bridges out ... had to shimmy across a 30 foot long pole and a board on another bridge. Lots of crabs skittering and birds all around. If you go in the morning bushes and palm trees block the sun keeping it less hot ;).

One of the better trails in the Savannah area. It’s enjoyable with some good views. Strictly flat terrain. Bring $5 for a parking pass to get into the park. It’s well worth it!

It is a beautiful walk on the Savannah River. Very crowded when I was there, both in the afternoon and at night. I went again in the early morning (6:00 AM) and there were only a couple of runners out (along with people cleaning up trash and a few homeless persons). Definitely humid and sweaty in June, but that's the southern U.S. in the summer. Lots of historic plaques and sculptures. If you start at the west end, this trail's turnaround point will be near the famous Waving Girl statue.

Beautiful trail! Definitely use a GPS app because none of the cross trails are marked and it could be confusing. Got a few ticks on me since it's June, I'll dress more appropriately next time. No parking fee as it is not in Skidaway State Park. Right next to the river.

nice trail but the mosquitoes were kind of crazy. only did big ferry trail because of the mosquitoes. saw a deer, 4 armadillos, black snake, and fiddler crabs.
