This is our "every night" trail, we see deer, beavers, Great Blue Herons, hawks, snakes, fish, turtles. Such a great place for an evening walk. Mostly shaded.

There’s a drive through a small shallow creek and a long windy drive. Decently not meant for a small car. Hike was beautiful. Would do it again. Not too long and not to high of an elevation. Water fall was amazing!! There are also a few short cuts for people who don’t want to hike the whole way

My favorite hike so far. The drive up is cool. Lots of beautiful homes. The trail is through a very green forest. I was waiting for elves and fairies to start jumping out at us! The waterfall at the end empties into a clear, shallow pool that’s not scary if you have kids or dogs. We went early and were completely alone. On the way back we ran into quite a few people. So, go before lunchtime if you like to be alone. Afternoon if you like to have people around.

Excellent hike along the river. You pass several swimming holes. Great for families!

Get there early to avoid crowds

slightly challenging but fun! it was muddy and humid when we went but nothing unbearable. Wearing dri fit clothing helped with that. There were about 5 campsites along the trail before the warerfall that I think would be great to stay at.

Short but uphill hike to the falls. One bench about halfway up to rest. Path is well maintained. Falls are pretty but I thought they would be bigger. Lots of white rhododendrons in bloom first week in July.

great easy trail for kids :) we had out of town guests and this was a perfect trail to fit everyone's skill level.

The previous gentleman was not kidding about the ticks - I have pulled NO LESS than two dozen off my dog and me since yesterday, and that was after repeated coats of bug spray! The trail is not well trafficked and so there are spots that are a bit overgrown, which adds to the charm. I walk with a cane and there are parts that were too narrow to use my cane next to me. This is not a complaint, just be prepared for it. One tree covers the path, but it has been there for a while and is not too much of a challenge to get over. The trail follows a pretty strenuous down, and then up, hill hike in a relatively short period of time. Even my four-legged companion was wiped after this one. The lack of city noise and other hikers make this a top hike in my opinion.

An AMAZING trail if you’re a sucker for water and nice views.

Scenic dog friendly trail. Clean paths. Nice lake views.

Worth the trip!

Easy drive to trailhead. Short, easy hike. Refreshing cold water! Will return with more people to enjoy!

Relatively easy and short hike to the overlook. Beautiful views and trail is well maintained. Dog friendly. Outhouse available in parking area.

Loved the hike- especially the waterfall!

Took the family. We went to the falls, then a bit up the Benton-Mackey for only a total of ~2 miles. Nice little hike. The falls was the best part.

This trail is very cool but make sure you wear pants because there is a lot of poison ivy and the weeds are really high in some parts

trail running

Never saw a river. We went for a trail run and I believe we walked most of the paths there. Came out once in what looked like someone's cornfield...still no river. Where did we go wrong?

backpacking

This was our first trail to backpack overnight. The scenery is beautiful. It is a pretty hard trail the first 2 miles and the last 2 miles. There are 4 campsites. The campsites just have a flat spot for your tent and a fire pit. The only complaint was that campsite one was not marked and was right on the trail. The trail is a little grown over at places with tall grass and poison oat so be sure to wear appropriate clothing and bring bug spray. This is black bear country so be smart. We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful falls! Also beautiful, natural trail, although very short. Be prepared though, there are no bathrooms nearby. The drive over is also nice, because the lake is very pretty.

Beautiful hike !

Decent walk. A lot of shade from trees, which is nice on a summer day in Georgia. Walked after a rainy day and some areas were muddy.

Worthwhile trip to see the falls. Great workout. Thankfully dogs are welcome on the hike.

difficult, but gets easier the more you do it. It starts off easy but that changes quickly. Pace yourself on the way up and down. it's like you're going straight up, so on the way down it's straight down. The view is beautiful at the top. There's an old war grave/memorial which is what the Disney Trail was named after. Once you pass it you come to almost like an outdoor church area with benches and a podium. It is beautiful! Hard but worth it! Trails are not smoothed out or anything like that. There are rocks, roots, dips etc.

Great overlook of the river.

A fun hike, but it lacks a view and a “payoff” for the climb.
