Beautiful, secluded trails. They advise you watch out for rattlesnakes, but personally the spider population is more way active.

Nice views on this hike. Unfortunately, the trail has not been kept up well, so keeping on the trail got more and more difficult the further out we got. We made it to sign post 33 and decided to turn around. We were probably only a few tenths of a mile from the end, but the trail became hard to find. We followed the advice in a prior review and found the trail head across from campsite 4 in loop A. Nice spot, just needs TLC.

Good trail I started at the rock hawk effigy and ran green to blue to yellow and 6.3 miles coming back to rockhawk parking area. Nice trail, pretty wide ,tall grass in a couple places. I think tail is great for hiking, but for trail running I kept hitting spiderwebs constantly! Would be an awesome trail if it had more traffic. Probably try again in fall. Map is very good trail marked good.

The trailhead is in fact there but other internet directions were incorrect. The trailhead is in the campground at Sinclair Lake Recreation area. It is on loop A directly across from site #4 (site numbers are on the picnic tables) where there is a post labeled “trail”. The trail was a pleasant romp through the woods -1.8 miles one way according to other posted signs. It has clearly not been super well maintained lately but you could reasonably find the way using a combination of the faded white paint marks on the trees, the numbered posts that once marked a self led tour of sorts, and the footpath that was once well trodden. I read that there are nine bridges on this trail but we only made it over six of them and just past the 31 post, maybe 1.3 miles down tops, before giving up on the trail which was becoming increasingly overgrown and difficult to follow. Trees were downed across it a number of times. I would certainly still recommend it. The lake is visible on your left the majority of the time and it was quiet and filled with songbirds. Plus it seems to be the only trail within the recreation area! Smelled wonderful and fairly flat. Having the lake as a reference had me less concerned about losing the trail also. Saw beautiful blue herons. Enjoy!

Great hike. Lots of trail options. Flat and well maintained. We did get a little off track on the red trail. No blades on trees. Did the orange + red loops. Family friendly.

Very nice trail. We completed the orange trail with the red loop. We showed we completed 4.05 miles in 1.5 hours. We took one small short cut. We took a cell phone picture of the posted map at the trail head and that helped us to not get turned around a couple times. We really enjoyed the hike and will definitely come back.

Went back for a second hike. Took a map provided at the start, glad I did; still found arrows pointing in wrong directions. But finished the Orange + Red trails. Beautiful trail; great look at Lake Oconee. Can't wait to build up stamina so I can add other trail sections to my hike.

I really like this trail and found the markings very easy to follow. There's a nice pass of the lake, too. You'll need to watch your step, though, for some well-camouflaged roots and rocks in spots!

Orange trail is a nice trail for a beginner, except the trail isn't marked well. I followed an arrow on an orange sign, which took me down a short cut trail, instead of keeping in the proper trail, it lead me back to where I started. :/

We never found a trail head and had lots of problems with the GPS getting there. I'm so surprised there aren't more trials in this area. What a missed opportunity.

Walked the orange trail starting at the rock eagle viewing post and too the shortcut back from 3. Nice, easy walk. Didn't see any wildlife other than s couple birds. Caught some nice glimpses of the water from the trail.

This was a WONDERFUL hiking trail! It is actually beneficial to visit in the winter; hardly anyone on the trail, and some beautiful views of numerous species of birds, the water, and if you are lucky like us, you will see a stunning red fox! Will be back, it was perfect!

Trail? What trail? Completely unmanaged. GPS showed we were where the trail used to be but...no longer. Sadly, this had so much promise but, do not waste your time on this one.

Primitive trails in many places but easy enough to pick up if you get off for a ways. Signs for no hunting and no trespassing posted everywhere on the northern loop. A little daunting at first but not so bad when you figure out the trail.

Great recreational lake, great fishing. Fantastic photo opportunities especially by boat. Wildlife is abundant. There are several places to camp on the lake and many creeks to explore.

Great for recreational boating and fishing. The lake presents some fantastic views and wildlife is abundant. The area has many areas around the lake for hiking, biking, scenic trails, and an archery trail.
