Very fun and scenic trail

Great trail, very rough climb on the way back. Saw a black bear around mile 4.4 so keep a look, apparently he likes to stay around those parts. Nice campsites all over the trail (obviously, it’s the AT!) Great intermediate backpacking trail.

very well marked and maintained trail. i do advise if going hiking in the rain. the trail likes to keep alot of standing water on the marked path. other than beautiful trail.

Neither trail is closed. We went today 07/08/2018. Definitely worth seeing both falls. The upper fall is the best one and you’re able to climb up into the fall. And there are several places along the way to let kids get into the water which is cold but feels great on a hot day.

Fun trail! Hiked with my dad and a friend. Came across a copperhead on the lower part of the trail. Be extremely careful if you try to reach the higher tiers of the fall. It is very slick and straight up with no clear or easy pathway.

Great trails.

Beautiful falls and great camp grounds!

beautiful falls

Beautiful trail with surprising little vignettes to pause and take in the views. Excellent workout

This is a nice walk. It’s more like a walk through the woods vs a hike. No views or nice scenery.

Wasn’t really a hike, or at least I didn’t see the trails. People were mainly there for fishing and swimming in the waterfall. Great area to swim around in.

No switchbacks a lot of straight up and down and not much reward for the effort.
but it is well maintained.

Trail was easy to find. The porta potty had a sign on it that said due to lack of donation they are unable to keep up with the maintenance. Started walking the trail, and it was very pleasant, but NOT clearly marked. There are no trees marked in between trail markers and it is very easy to end up off course. We ended up miles off the loop turning a 9 mile loop into a 13.5 mile hike before we finally called forestry because we were running out of light.

it's open

Sure was pretty! and hard too!

Fantastic very diverse trail system. Time flies while hiking it. Lots of surprises along the way.

Trail is open (3/31/18).

I take the dogs here a lot and we hike/walk the road. Havent been past the concrete bridge by the small falls, but it's a lovely walk. Very pretty and easy. We usually park in the lot by the main falls and swimming area. I haven't come across an actual trail, just the road and a few defunct service roads. Bring water, trail snacks, and definitely a camera. The wildlife is spectacular.

had an awesome time fishing over the summer. beautiful lake.

Good easy/moderate hike to just be outside. Trail was in decent shape but no views. No indication in description that we would have to cross a creek. Found a tree that had fallen across upstream & climbed over that way.

The trailhead location is accurate on this site and easy to find. It has a detailed map, parking and even a porta-potty.

The trails have a good mix of downhill sections, climbs and flowy single track. There is probably 50miles of riding out there.

I like to think I'm in good shape but haven't been on my bike in a long time. Even riding a heavier bike (trek remedy 8) I was able to ride continuously and had a good time.

I will definitely return and met some locals who say they ride there nearly every weekend without getting bored of it.

Hiked this a few months ago and enjoyed the peaceful environment. Enough up and downhills to get your heart pumping but not too strenuous.

Great Autumn hike. The Jake Mountain Trail Loop has moderate downhills and uphills. Nothing too strenuous. We encounters two Jones Creeks crossings, One was mid shin (we removed our hiking boots to cross) and the other we used rocks to cross.

Gnarly simple trail lots of hill and camp sites not much water

Great relaxing hike. Beautiful scenery. You do have to walk along the side of a busy highway if you make the loop, but it feels so remote as soon as you hit the trail.

Great trail for a short hike. Nice incline. To make the full loop you have to hike along the highway. Dog friendly!
