I ran across this trail by accident and it was just perfect to stretch my legs

This trail is nicely shaded and goes by the lake for a small part of the trail. It is overgrown and the bridges are covered with soil and branches. It could be a wonderful easy hike but it needs attention. There was a porta-john available.

Nice for a .5 mile hike. Behind the pond is snakey, uncut and full of ticks. I climbed over several fallen trees, and grass was as tall as four or five feet. I will.not come back here again.

The trail is not serviced past its first half and overgrown with vegetation. Could be nice for a family walk but not worth much in its current shape.

Why can't AllTrails get the place names right? This is the Whelchel Reservoir (also locally called Ballground because of the baseball fields). It is not much of a trail, but in winter it is often a really good place for Birding/Ducks.
