Great hikes to lovely waterfalls with pools to lie in. Clayton, Ga

I wouldn’t go out of my way to hike this short trail, especially with all of the other waterfalls in the area. Still, it’s a worthwhile walk to a high-elevation, trickling waterfall if you’re staying in the park (which I recommend). The easy rating is confusing, even considering the trail’s length, as it is a sharp descent via steps with very little relief along the way, a kind of miniature version of the nearby and more rewarding hike to Hurricane Falls in Tallulah Gorge.

Drive up until you reach the gate on the gravel road. the walk up is long but with it. I flew my drone and grabbed incredible footage

Beautiful hike along the river that’s nice and secluded. I would recommend you have some agility skills because there are a number of trees down across the trail. After this hike we walked north for several miles on the road along the Tallulah River.... a beautiful hike as well and no trees to climb over.

Once you parker stay on the gravel road. Do not take the road/trail in the curve when parking.

Cool little hike. Small falls but worth the hike. Wouldn’t recommend small children as to steep in & out.

Really nice trail. Happy to find that the “Easy” rating was accurate. A few creek crossings, but not deep (maybe 12” at most).
My recommendations: Drive with the windows down and you’ll be able to hear where you can view some waterfalls. Explore the camping areas for some access to the creek. Bring a picnic basket and make a day of it.

Loved this park! Ada-hi was a nice short hike.

Simple uphill slight grade hike on a road/trail lined with wild flowers. The top has an observatory which offers a stunning 360 view of the North Georgia Appalachians. Good for all skill levels!

Easy walk and a little over grown but not too bad!

Nothing special. Really short and easy hike. Small waterfall isn’t really worth it.

Steep climb down and back with more than 250 stairs to a nice landing near a waterfall at the bottom. Short hike, nice leg workout. Well maintained as is all the Black Rock Mtn state park. Recommended for all ages and pets.

Lovely water fall and nice picnic area

easy first mile nearly downhill until the sharp left. As of 6/23/2018, large tree fall across trail around 1/2 mile from trailhead. You must ford Holcomb creek 50 yards upstream from the slot waterfall to get to next section (not shown on this site's map) to see actual Three Forks. This section of the trail had several (we counted six) tree falls which made us turn around. Chainsaw anyone? Still, the first falls at Holcomb is worth the relatively easy hike. One campsite near this falls is tight, a few trees for hammocks, a small firepit but close to the edge near the falls (loud).

Beautiful area with a local myth; the headless raccoon hunter! Legend has it, that if you go coon hunting up in this area, that the headless raccoon hunter chases you off the mountain!
All in all, I enjoyed the hike and my time at the fire tower.

Quiet, easy trail. It’s a little overgrown like maybe it’s not used much. It’s a great trail for grandkids and has a waterfall.

This is a pleasant easy walk culminating in a nice waterfall. Take the low trail back to stay near the brook.

perfect for my area.

A nice short hike in the woods along the river. Very easy trail to follow. The forest has recovered nicely from the fire.

Nice little walk. Comparatively speaking, not all that much to see, but a pleasant walk nonetheless.

love it

Thanks to this app we found another trail that lead us up to one of my favorite things to explore a Fire Tower. We drove up the narrow well maintained gravel road to the trailhead gate and hiked up the wide gravel road to the top. We experienced a great butt and lung burning workout in a beautiful 55* weather sunny day. Was pleasantly surprised that you could actually go to the top of this tower and even explore inside the upper room, for most of the towers we have explored stop you just underneath those rooms. Great views at the top of Lake Burton and the many mountains that we have explored and have yet to. After enjoying the tower view, we hiked down to start on the other gated old road bed path a little over a mile and checked out a beautiful waterfall that flows down and over the path. Glassy Mtn trails gave us around 5 miles of hiking.

Liked this but wish it wasn't just a walk up a gravel road. My kids ages 4 and 8 liked it but the tower steps were a bit scary for the 4 year old. The view at the top was amazing! There is definitely not much parking by the gate.

However extremely short I️t had an incredible view! If you’re looking for an easy but beautiful hike this is the one.

Good for a short, nice walk.

had a great time will definitely will be back. camp site where clean and well taken care of restroom were clean and well taken care of.

Despite the fact that this hike is up a forest service road and not an actual trail, the scenery is nice and the views from the top are spectacular. Well worth the drive and walk up. There are signs that say the area will be closed to the public if illegal activity continues and that video surveillance is in use. Please behave yourself up there and help preserve use of this area by the public.

Also, there is not ample parking as some have stated. I saw space for 1-2 cars before the gate, not much more. Carpool if you are headed up with a group.

we went for the eclipse and scouted it out the day before. They blocked the road off over a mile before where the trailhead actually starts. This made the hike over double what it normally is so it was way more intense than we were expecting. It was amazing once we got there but didn't make it for the eclipse the next day. Just be cautious if expecting a mile.

Great trail in the beginning but definitely gets difficult if you are going to the actual 3 forks but well worth the effort.
