super easy loop with a waterfall

Went on a Tuesday around 5pm, there was only one car in the parking lot and we passed that one person at the very beginning of the trek. We only did the west loop because it would've gotten close to dark if we had done both loops. The west loop has great up and down's and it's nice to be up on the Ridgeline. There was a huge tree down in the train and lots of overgrowth so carry a stick to knock down all of the cobwebs because you're going to walk into ALOT of them, but you're outside and it's lightly trafficked so it's to be expected. Really loved this trail and can't wait to come back and see the east loop with the quarry. Also, can't wait for the leaves to change because it's going to be gorgeous. It's only 40 minutes from my house and will be well worth coming back several more times.

Went in from the parking lot for Raven Cliff Falls. Had to ford the creek a couple times which made it more fun.Would suggest doing it from proper trailhead if you're not very adventurous.

This trail has it all without busting your hump.
The only thing missing is a big expansive view hence not (busting your hump) but it certainly gives you everything else. Jacks river is a clean and healthy river with lots of shallow swimming holes. Rhododendrons abound alongside wild azaleas under large trees of every kind.
Very nice campsites with fire rings.
There are trees down from a recent storm.
We didn’t see anyone during the week and only a few over the weekend.
A Great leisure trail for hikers of all kind.

Nice enough trail with a mix of pavement and gravel. Part of it is currently under construction though.

Nice broad paved trail that goes through woods, fields, and has beautiful views of the lake. Though, it can get very busy on nice weekends with walkers, runners, and cyclists.

I love it here. My dog and I walk it at least once a week, sometimes two or three times. You can make it tougher and longer by parking at the first parking lot on the right and going up the hill before hitting the loop.

Nice little trail, though a bit confusing at times on which path is part of the trail vs. a path to disc golf holes.

Fantastic run and elevation training! I wish I had started earlier because it was quite hot by the time I ended but the crowd wasn't hard to navigate. Can't wait to go back. Xx

as of july 2018 they have improved their parkand is still upgrading.

they put in a dog park and a huge kidy park and a new parking lot with two covered seating areas now they just have to fix some trails due to treei
s falling but over all its fun. for everyone and fur babies

Great little hike. Didn’t take but 1.5 hours to get to the falls. Pack a swimsuit as it a beautiful place to swim if the weather is right. Great because it follows the trail. Trail can get slippery when wet. Saw two snakes so best to be on the lookout.

Trail in great shape, easy, hope they fix the primary viewing deck soon.

We only had time to do 1 hike, and we were so glad we chose this one.

This was a Super Hike! We only hiked to the Panther Creek Falls, which was plenty!
7 miles round trip and we had no desire to go beyond the falls. It was a warm day and there were plenty of people and dogs! We had lunch and waded into the water. Delightful! The hike was pretty energetic with so many uphills, and downhills with tree roots for steps and boulders to slide down or climb up. We will definitely hike this trail again in October or November. There are many visitors to these falls and it was pretty busy on the Sunday we were there. Next time we’ll go during the week.

Beautiful Gorge and great hike.

I'm assuming the "hard" rating is relative to the area. Compared to other hikes in N GA, I guess it's hard. If you are not in shape and new to hiking an incline, it could be challenging. 1,500 feet in 2 miles is not easy, but with a decent pair of shoes, most should be able to summit and enjoy spectacular views. As with any activity, bring enough water. even though it was 68 degrees, the humidity under the canopy is quite high, and you will sweat.

Nice day hike with moderate incline. Beautiful 360 view from tower at the summit. Will do again soon.

So the actual hike wasn't difficult. The views from Preacher's Rock are pretty awesome. We went early to try and catch the sunrise... but what we actually caught was a nice walk in the clouds. The temperature was very pleasant and the added moisture from the clouds was nature's A/C. However the map from Alltrails was a bit misleading. The was our first trip so I relied solely on the app. It had us walking an extra mile thinking there was more to see... There was not. So unless you are planning on hiking to Blood Mountain don't go past Preacher's Rock.

Easy walk.

It is completely overgrown! Not knowing all the other trails were closed we decided to checkout Horseshoe bend only to find that the majority of the trail is thorns. When we were finished her clothes were completely destroyed and my legs were scratched raw. We had planned to hike Beech Bottom which is a shorts/leggings friendly trail but I wouldn't even hike this trail with my boots and thickest pants. You can't take more than a step before having to liberate yourself from a bush which makes for a physically and mentally exhausting hike.

Beautiful views! Nice challenging trail. First two miles is all incline. I started from Pigeon Hill Trail off of Burnt Hickory Road.

beautiful camp, check before you go. some of the trails are closed due to storm damage

great trail for a family with small kids

Definitely a favorite of mine. Very scenic! While the waterfall is beautiful it’s not the only thing to see.

I had fun exploring, because I got lost. Everything everyone said about the poorly marked trails is true! Doesn’t take away from the fact that it is beautiful once you get good on the trails.

We enjoyed the trail until it got extremely rocky. After deciding to turn back, we noticed a sign was knocked down stating the road is closed. Didn’t see much wildlife either. All in all it was fun.

Very nice hike when combined with Preachers rock.

Options for bilking/hiking and hiking only. Limited parking.

it's paved

Hiked yesterday September 22. The first marker was hard to spot. We ended up hiking the wrong creek for about a mile, before we back tracked, we did find the trail. Other than that the falls were beautiful. It would make a great weekend backpacking trip too
