This is the first trail I’ve tried out after downloading the app. The reviews were on point. The park is great. I’ll be back with a mountain bike someday. It looks as tho there will be additions to the trail in the future. But the scenery is great. I didn’t feel lost at any point. I only saw two people on the trail the entire time.

I liked this hike for a casual Friday morning, as it was decently quiet and serene. You can take the full hike or do a loop that’s shorter, so I liked the options for different lengths. The only negative was part of the path had overflow from the Chattahoochee covering up parts of the lower path, but I was able to easily choose another way to go to avoid the flooding.

muddy

The first 3.9 miles is a good moderate run. After crossing the main road it got muddy and I chose to return along the road. If it’s cold, the mud is solid and passable, but warmer weather beware!

A good trail around a beautiful lake. The trail is almost overmarked with blue paint and signs as far as the eye can see, this makes it easy to follow but does disrupt the being in nature a bit. Overall a fantastic trail and the pup loved it as well

Rain makes for a muddy hike on this one.

Beautiful trail, nice terrain. Didn’t realize the overlook was towards the beginning (if you take the trail right as opposed to left from the trailhead). Nonetheless, the weather was clear so the view was beautiful. I wouldn’t recommend going on an overcast day, as the overlook would probably be a little anticlimactic. Definitely worth checking out if you’re like me and don’t need to have constant views to keep you entertained throughout a hike.

We parked at the Ranger station (they had a turtle inside and maps!) and walked across the bridge to Marble Mine Trail towards the left, but not the trail that follows along the lake (maps at the Ranger station). The trail is rough due to a lot of turned up dirt and clay clumps left by a backhoe or excavator. The steep part of the trail is worth the experience of the marble mine.

This was my first time hiking this trail in the winter. I loved seeing the open views. There were a couple places where a tree had fallen over the trail and there was still a couple icy areas. But, for the most part, it was maintained well. I guess I haven’t been hiking enough lately since the hike up kicked my butt. Coming down was a breeze. It took me 2.5 hours from start to finish (including my little lounging at the top on the tower). Will do again soon since I’m training to do an 8 mile hike in April.

Do not make a right turn after the end of the boardwalk. There are a lot of homeless people living in that area!

W Kim, Valentine’s Day 2018. Lunch at Canoe: view of river! Steep climb! Winter, but warm, in the 60’s

trail closed about halfway thru due to hurricane damage. Nice enjoyable trail.

Fun trail along the the stream that often turns into water falls. When you reach the end and before turning around make sure to go all the way to the top and around the corner to see the full height of the cliff.

I thought this trail was really boring. No vistas and it was winter. Would not do again

Parking at the Andrew Cove so I parked to the side of the road. The walk up to Indian Gap was all up hill. Or at least it felt like it. There is a stream that runs most of the way up so there is plenty of water. I joined the AT at the top of the trail and headed to Tray Mt. Super clear, sunny, but windy day. Finished off my trail data to complete the GA section of the AT. 9.4 round trip, good hike to shake out my legs for my Foothills Trail hike.

this trail is close to my house, so the convenience is nice. Decent hike. Half of it is uphill - just a warning!

I like to bring a grocery bag to PACK OUT ALL THE BLUE DOG WASTE BAGS PEOPLE LEAVE EVERYWHERE. It's a great little area except for all the trash and dog shit.

Did this yesterday solo. I hiked clockwise and swapped the bottom part of the CBT with the Bear Hair Trail for the views and the additional mileage. Great hike, only saw two other hikers (hiking together). Hiking clockwise gets the ascents out of the way first while you're still fresh. The views from the summit of the Bear Hair trail are awesome. Also there are winter views from the trail on the east side of Slaughter Mountain. My total mileage was 14.34 and time was 5:59:25. Be advised there are lots of blow-down on the way up Slaughter from the south.

Trail is still blocked off by fence and signs saying to turn around. trail info should be updated to reflect this.

The mill is really cool. Fair warning there are way too many snakes here in the summer.

Great day hike from Warwoman Dell to Pinnacle Knob! We wandered around a little looking for the correct trail head since there are many trails in that area, we found what we were looking for right near the parking area closest to the road. Two beautiful waterfalls on the lower portion of the hike with a couple great campsites and then a nice climb to the top of Pinnacle Knob with a great campsite at the very top. Definitely will be going back to camp!

Finding the trail from the parking lot took us a little bit because it’s pretty confusing. The hike itself is great and I’m surprised it’s not more popular. Two waterfalls and a nice overlook. There’s at least two campsites, maybe three, that would be great for backpacking.

This is a great little trail. About 5mi if you do the entire white trail. As others have stated it can get crowded. The further you get from the visitor center, and/or the red trail, the lighter the crowd of course. If you swap over to the red trail it gets a little rocky along the river. Probably tough for small dogs/kids. The trail is well marked, with a green and brown trail cut-throughs if you want to shorten the trail a bit.

This trail is more than meets the eye. You will enjoy the backside of the mountain once you ascend the first leg of the mountain. I recommend this trail for anyone who is up for a challenge because the vistas are amazing!

Wide trail that has a lot of gravel in the first .75 miles down, making for a good grip and easy walk. The waterfalls can be heard the second you get out of the car. Recognize that this is a downhill-first hike, so it may be a little bit of a pain in the butt if you have young kids.
