This trail is great. Gorgeous views. Very well marked. The trail is all gravel except for a couple of short, wood bridges, so if you have a stroller, make sure it is made for off-roading.

Great beginners hike or a hike with your dog. Loved it. Had quite a few beautiful lake front spots to let your dogs loose and have a blast.

Fun trail with wide paths.

I hiked this one starting from Coopers Furnace via the connector trail. It’s longer then the west loop but isn’t as scenic IMO, it lacks the rock features you’ll see on the other side. Not a bad hike though.

Beautiful hike, I agree with the moderate rating. Easy trail head access from I-75, free parking with lots of spots. The trail is very clean and clearly marked. I hiked the west loop on an early Sunday morning, great view of the sunrise on the summit and lots of space up at the top. Try going early because it gets VERY busy around 10-11AM.

great easy trail...you can take a stroller on the trail great for kids. this trail can get pretty busy in the spring and summer months.

Did something crazy and hiked every trail at Red Top one Sunday. This review will cover the entire experience. Well marked, nicely maintained, and surprisingly quiet considering how popular it is. The views were gorgeous and there is enough of a variety in the trails to really give you a workout. Great place to train for more strenuous hikes and events.

These are really good trails with lots to see. We did both loops combined with Coopers Furnace trail, it ended up being a 7.3 miles all together.

One of my favorite trails! Well maintained and full of beautiful views of the lake. There's a side trail towards the northeastern corner of the trail that leads down to a solitary bench right at the shore of the lake. Love to stop there, eat a snack, and enjoy the view of the lake!

Nice paved trail. Would be great for families with kids since it's a very easy trail and has a play area along the way. There are loads of benches and picnic tables nearby. Nice views of the lake too!

Beautiful!

First time on this trail. It was clean and well-marked throughout. Views of the lake almost the entire time - lots of little paths off the main walk that can take you closer to the water. Beautiful in spring time! Trail begins down off to the left of the parking lot.

Great trail for some miles.

The trail is clearly marked and there’s a lot to see. The uphill is decently steep and the summit is beautiful. Be aware that the mileage listed seems to be incorrect. It’s closer to 3.9 miles around the loop and to the summit round trip.

Near Iron Hill Trail. I like to run Iron Hill then hike this right after. A bit challenging at a few spots. Several spots to veer off and sit on small somewhat-secluded beaches and modest overlooks of the lake. Very nice scenery.

Easy walk/jog. Very nice escape. Easy-to-follow path. Couple good spots for dogs to swim too.

Beautiful views, easy walk and not too crowded. Highly recommend. Don’t forget you need $5 for parking.

Nice little easy hike with mild hills and good views of the lake. Follows the lake almost the entire trail. We stopped for lunch at the tip of the peninsula. The picnic tables could use some work and the trail could be marked a little better, but I’m definitely going to come back at some point. I would like to bring my bike next time!

Done both loops, this one is significantly better. Less traffic, better views on the way up.

always a wonderful visit
