Simple walking path with a small creek that crosses it. I liked the many mushrooms/toadstools along the trail, but maybe much better as a biking trail.

So so, more for biking

According to my Apple health data this was 3.6 miles and 16 flights of stairs so lots of elevation changes. I agree should be considered moderate, plus it was 85 and very humid today.

Trekked East from the Appalachian Highway 76 in Cherry Log on section seven. Very easy walk starting out with gravel roads. Talked to some nice folks while hiking!

Had a blast, nice open trail, few stream crossings and an old free standing chimney! Not far from home and easily accessible!

Amazing!
Tough yes but, totally worth it for the views and the breathtaking scenery.

Hiked this section of the AT at the beginning of last April. Due to my line of work, I am unable to take off an extended amount of time to allow me to thru-hike.. so I’m forced to section hike it. They claim that this is the toughest part of the Appalachian Trail. I’m not so sure about all of that, but it is rather tough in certain spots. A lot of elevation gain/loss in a short distance, but the rewards (views) are so worth it. 10/10.. after I have completed the whole trail, I’d love to do Georgia again. I like to day-hike portions of it. Preachers Rock and Blood Mountain to Neels Gap are awesome day hikes.

Nice little loop in the Aska area. Be sure to keep your eyes open for the old chimney and wall just off the trail. Fun to explore!

Easy hike. Minor trail construction. Very muddy in a few sections. Slight trail rerouting which added a few extra hiking yards

Great easy trail. Connects to Green Mtn trail easily but you would have to park cars at both trailheads.

Great trail to hike on a rainy day.

This trail should be rated moderate, not easy. From the trail head, walking clockwise, it's a pretty steep half mile climb to the BM trail. Then a nice ridge walk before a long descent to the Fall River Falls, which are very nice. Then over a mile, mostly uphill, on Rock Creek Road. It's an OK walk but not spectacular and not "easy."

John Young, are you still looking for hikers for this trip? I tried to email you.

Sept 28 looking for folks doing the same. Unsure of this site but trying. Springer to nc border trip. I live in florida. Contact me at johnyoung063@gmail.com

After bearing left at the loop junction we enjoyed a tranquil uphill slope along the ridge On the South side of the small wooded valley. We stopped often to photograph fungi and moss. Looping back on the north side it warmed to 84 as we followed the opposite ridge then descended. We were pleasantly surprised to reach a lovely stream with rocks for sitting midstream and cooling our warm feet. The cold water was rejuvenating and there were decent photo opportunities as i sketched the tiny waterfall and swirling water. This was the best part of the trail..time spent 3 hrs because of the creek.

Hard as F@&$ but well worth it

Nice loop ride for a new MTB rider, especially the western side of the loop. Eastern side was narrow, rocky, slippery, and muddy (heavy rains this week). I made multiple loops in counterclockwise direction to get a good workout. Would definitely do this again.

Hi
I am hiking from Springer to Smoky Mountain.Anyone else going round about the 18 the September 2017?
I have 12 days to see how far I can get. Any suggestions on weather and gear needed? pauloppel@gmail.com

We weren't able to access this trail, as the address given was behind gates and private property signs (uploaded a picture). There was a pull-off just before this to the right, so we went there and did the shorter waterfall hike, then took a little of the Benton Mackaye Trail route. Much of these were uphill, but the BMT had a nice ridgeline walk for awhile. The area is beautiful. There was a more "official" Aska trail head earlier on the road, too.

Our family is hiking in sections. We have made it GA to NC border in 3 years. It is a great cheap family vacation with lots of bonding time.

Pleasant trail. Easy grade. Not many blazes but the trail is very simple to follow.

Rough, and mud driven slopes and the heat in the summer of 2015-2016 was a beast. Did in segments until reaching NC/GA/TN.

The stairs suck.... but, you can find a lot of good gear that idiot thru hikers toss to the side....I'm not picking that crap up.
