Beautiful, well maintained and enjoyable trail to hike! Our children (11 & 5) did well hiking it as well! The waterfall is awesome and offers a swim hole to cool off in and large rocks to climb/relax on! Truly an awesome trail and will definitely return!

Nice walk. It had a few small hills but was a very easy stroll.

Nice trail through the forest on a warm day. Lots of shade and several water crossings. Gentle slope uphill if you stay right at the trailhead, then down to the creek and back up (of course) to complete the loop. Pretty wide most of the way. Highlight was seeing 2 bears very close to the trail!

Nice shaded hike. It is paved so it was very easy and kid friendly. Pretty glimpses of the lake at certain areas.

Great trail with two side scrambles down to waterfalls before getting to the main falls. The road is as bumpy as everyone else here has said. Parking is on the roadside.

Good trail with areas of moderate elevation. Then flat areas to recover. Mild to moderate. Wooded and no real view while the leaves are on the trees. There is an old portion of the trail at top that takes you to majestic view of the lake through the trees ( best in the fall) but the trail after that basically ends. Looks like the old upper trail that is no longer maintained. When going to Lake and you come around a new house construction, you will come to gravel road/driveway. Cross and to left pick trail up again. Then one more time you will hit a road. Cross and to the left of the private house driveway you will pick up the trail again. Well marked for this one. Once pass these houses - with friendly but loud barking dogs - you will be back into the tranquil woods to the lake. No great view but a couple of creek crossings.

Cute little hike for beginners. Hard to find because the gps takes you to the boat entrance instead of the trail. Once on there the hike itself is easy. Needs some benches so you can enjoy the view.

Thoroughly enjoyed this trail. It’s completely in shade. It’s a little bit boring on the views but nice creeks a small bridge to relax and have lunch.

Great trail with lots of camping spots and amazing waterfall!

We did this trail twice. First time as a warm up after a long car ride. The second time we took the connector to Green Mt. then we continued the trail to the Blue Ridge Lake. It was a moderate hike in the woods. The lake views were well worth it. The trail itself is a little confusing but with close attention you find the right way. The trail crosses by a couple cabins being constructed and wraps around these for less than half a mile. When you get to a rocky road look forward towards the left of the house/driveway and you pick up the trail easily again. This is an out and back trail when you do it this way. When you return, pick up the loop where you left off. Enjoy the journey. It was about 6 miles total.

All trails map is wrong at some points. Be careful it will say off trial when you are actually good. Maybe Check our guthook if you’re doing the whole thing

We did this trail on mothers day...It is NOT closed. The trail was terrific

Beautiful little hike. We had less than an hour until it rained and we finished the trail with plenty of time with so many gorgeous lake views along the way.

Beautiful shady trail. It is not too long (about 20-30 min one way) but about half way through the elevation increases so it will get your heart pumping. The waterfall is totally worth making the hike. The trail is somewhat narrow so it was hard to keep 6ft distance from others when passing by people. The trail follows the creek so there are plenty of spots to rest, camp, picnic by the day after along the trail. We hiked it with my 3yo in a hiking backpack. Easy peasy. No designated parking, so everyone was parked along a gravel road. Re getting there - the trail is 5 miles off the main road and the 5 miles are a narrow uneven gravel road so plan accordingly re appropriate vehicles.

Beautiful day and great family trail. 2 waterfalls prior to Long Creek Falls. We went in 2.5 miles on Benton MacKaye following Long Creek to where the trail leaves the creek side and heads to higher elevations. Really easy and enjoyable.

Beautiful, short walk. Lovely to go along the water and it had some great views.

Loop trail, water, woods

Short hike, but enough of a grade to get your heat beating. The waterfall is magnificent!

It’s frustrating that the hiking trails are closed. I am all for social distancing and preventing infections but eliminating safe, outdoor recreation is not the answer. I am trying to find a hiking trail open but all I can find is what trails are closed. Thanks FL, Atlanta, and non-residents for coming up here and forcing officials to shut down trails for everyone.

This trail is now closed for COVID, which ridiculous because I haven’t seen another soul on it in the three weeks I’ve been hiking it.

We did the trail loop counterclockwise. The trail was good to the spur. At that point the river crossings began and the trail was not marked. The crossings were marked, but you had to look closely. There were so many blowdowns we missed a turn and continue on the older route. We dropped our packs so we could make it to the falls. After visiting the falls we returned on the correct trail and retrieved our packs. Even the correct trail had many blowdowns. We made it a couple of miles past the spur and at least 8 river crossings (almost waist deep) to camp the second night in the middle of the trail, because of so many blowdowns. Sooo many blowdowns and a total of about 30 river crossings. ( springtime rains made all the crossings very tuff) If the trail and campsites were cleaned up, it would be a fantastic hike. It would be a lot of work to get this trail good again. March of 2020.

Shady nice nature hike.

This was a wonderful loop and really did not get difficult until the last 2 1/2 miles. The dogs really enjoyed all the little pitstops we took to enjoy the cold water running alongside the trail. Shaded enough to get out of the sun on a hot day. Beautiful weather!
