Very short board walk but nice views! It was perfect to take my 4 year old. He loved walking on the "bridge." When we went they had people from the kids summer camp doing demonstrations of trap settings in the water.

I ride this about everyday to get from Evans to Downtown Augusta, fun and easy ride with beautiful scenery. On my days off I like to take advantage of the Mountain bike trails that are off the side at the Water Works station.

fun for a short walk, but worth the trip.

This is my favorite place to ride my bike!

This trail begins as a lovely stroll with the Canal on one side and the Savannah River on the other. The scenery is something to take in. Many reviews mentioned that the trail is heavily trafficked, especially on the weekends. I visited on a Monday (late morning) and there were more folks than I anticipated. Good news, the trail is only moderately trafficked for the first 1.5 mile and then the crowd thins out a little bit. Even though the trail gets a lot of foot traffic, it’s still quiet. Anyway, the trail itself is not that exciting (it’s flat and straightforward) BUT it’s so beautiful, so the scenery makes up for the lack of excitement.

if you want the feel of nature but don't want to go out in the woods this is the perfect place for you it mainly consists of a small Boardwalk couple short trails off the boardwalk it's the environment that makes this place you feel like you're in the middle of wetlands even though you're smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood

pretty area. great for pet lovers and families. bring old bread lots of geese to feed.

Heavily trafficked. Beautiful views. Easy hike/walk

My dog and I enjoy the Trail’s out here quite often, good walking, ok’ing Trail’s without having to leave town.

Great trail that skirts the river. Walk it, run it, kayak it, or bycicle- ride it all the way to downtown augusta for lunch. Dog friendly.

This is definitely my favorite leisurely trail. There are a good number of side trails as well that offer more of a challenge. Overall, it’s nearly perfect.

Just ran this tonight. It's nice and flat and mostly grass trails the whole way. A short boardwalk and some gravel but no biggie. There are a lot of different paths you can take so you have options depending on how many miles you want to run. I've heard there can be a lot of snakes here in the summer though. Will have to see later in the year.

Good trail with a mixture of hardball and unimproved walkways. Moderately trafficked with runners/walkers/cyclists. Easy to get to and there is always parking. Overall, there is minimal elevation change making it easy for all levels of fitness.

Nice long trail—most of it is dirt which is great. Very peaceful—Spanish moss hanging and beautiful Canal. There’s a spot by the river you can picnic which is lovely.

Extremely short—haha don’t this if you are wanting an actual hike! But it’s very pretty boardwalk.

One thing I hate about this app is that it does not have all the entrances to the canal there are multiple to include lake Olmstead and Eisenhower Park. Also along the trail you can find bike trails that lead to the Savannah for some nice fishing and/or relaxing. The main reason it gets 5 stars is because there’s a lot to do if you can find it. even a rope swing near Rae’s Aqua duct

Little to no shade.

The red trail markers took us down a path that was clearly just where the water drains. The black trail was not clearly marked. It was a joke. Great playground for the kids though.

As a active biologist and water quality professional. I found this Hike amazing. It offered a very short but explanatory wind around a low area with a wonderful interpretive center( building). They offer a Holloween tour for kids this time of year. I thought the descriptions of wildlife and layout was short an d pleasant. I went through a extension trail into the woods and had a hot meal prepeared with a msr trail water heater. Although short it was a good excursion from city life. I was glad to hear there were programs for children to see reptiles and wild life.

nice walk with plenty of birds, alligators and plant life. It's pretty open so wear sunscreen.

This is half swamp, half sewage treatment plant. So swamp is nice but is short then it's just views of the sewage treatment which is as glorious as it sounds

absolutely a beautiful walk. It is a great place to take a relaxing stroll and very easy for kids. the only downside is that it's pretty busy.

Just okay. It's really too easy to be called hiking. The views are okay. There are some parts of the boardwalk that were a little low and I found myself looking out for snakes rather than enjoying the scenery.

Love this park. Has a little bit of everything (water views, woods and open fields).

Smaller place than I was expecting but nice boardwalks. Nice for a place to get outside for a relaxing stroll, not for getting in miles though.

I love this trail, but it is a weekend hot spot, so expect crowds. During the week, it's less populated. I've never felt as though bicyclists were competing with walkers, but we always moved to the side to let them pass. I truly love the scenery along this area of the canal and river and appreciate the interpretive signs that have been placed since the area became a National Heritage Area. As noted from previous comments, this is not a hiking trail, and is very attainable for those just wanting to go for a nice, scenic walk with the family. If visiting, please take a moment to pause at Major Donahue's memorial.

This is a very easy boardwalk trail (with a couple of options to wander off the boardwalks). It's a great nature-viewing area located behind a Zaxby's on a four-lane, divided highway. This is a great place for nature viewing, and anyone who doesn't mind walking around in a small loop will be treated to some lovely views.

This is a great trail, though weekends see an uptick in traffic. It's amazingly quiet and peaceful, given how close it is to downtown (and how close it gets at one point to Riverwatch Parkway). Very picturesque with great river and canal views throughout the trail.
