2/16/19. This was a great hike. We were a little confused as to where the Trail head was. We parked in the equestrian parking and then followed the sign to dude lake. This park seems to have hundreds of trails that you can go on and follow and they are wide. There were a couple that were narrow and beautiful. They were all very clear. We saw two doe and a very large buck. We have walked the other trail that is outside of the park and that was awesome. But this was just as enjoyable and you could very easily make it as long or as short as you want. Just use the app and follow the app.

This trail is awesome. It is one of our two favorite trails in central Florida. There are ways to make this a 6.5 mile trail. It is shaded and has good river views as well as minor elevation changes. We highly recommend this trail.

Will do this again

I had a great great time it was beautiful and I encourage everyone to go out there we did the full loop of 6.2 miles

Not a hike trail. Not recommended for walking. Just bike only

We decided to try hiking all of the trails near us. This was our first one. It was ok, wanted more of a terrain. The walking trails are big and it has plenty of signs so you won’t get lost, just not much to see. There was also plenty of cover/shade.

We will definitely be back for mountain biking- because that looked like fun!

What a great hike! We took the 2.8 mile loop. It rained last week so there winsome areas of muck and water but we were easily able to navigate around these. Passed 3 different sets of hikers. Nice and windy trail with plenty of shade mixed in with some random open areas. We encountered a gator on the trail near the river, backed off for a bit then watched him continue on his path to the river.

My absolute favorite place to ride in Central Florida. Ridgeline trail is an absolute blast and worth the visit to this trail system on its own. The new parking lot is awesome too, and let's you get into the trails much quicker than the previous trailhead.

The green portion of the trail is mostly fire break trail with little shade. When it rains, large portions of the trail are under water. Though the red portion takes you into the shade of the woods, the water problem is prevalent here also. I tried hiking them in December when it's pretty dry, but one good rain, 2" of it, and I had to wade and retrack and wade some more, and three dry days later the water is still there.

A beautiful walk in the the woods!
Especially when the days have started to cool down in the fall. The ferns, pine trees and palmetto bushes take me back to my childhood of playing outside all day on our 5 acres off Cowley rd.
Which is all developed now.
Still I love to visit the woods as often as I can.
Take your kids and leave the electronics at home.

about a quarter mile walk from parking to where the trail starts go to the left first three miles is mostly shaded and along the river footing is solid but there are a lot of roots in the trail. the trail is a 6 Mile Loop that can be cut in half. the second 3 miles is little more sand but not too deep to run in. Trail is generally not crowded and as best run from November to the beginning of April or whenever rainy season starts once the rain starts I don't bother to go, there will be standing water that does not clear. when the trail is dry it is very enjoyable

Short loop, about 15 min walk. Well shaded with views of the river. Best oxbow view is from the pavilion.

Great scenic trails. However, I thought the beginner trails were a bit too narrow in parts. Additionally, the sandy path to get to the trails can be a hazard if you're not paying attention. Definitely enjoyed the paths toward the back more. Very well maintained and I highly recommend for riders of all skill levels. A good place to build confidence.

Nice trail and it offers some views of the river. It’s rather short, but well marked.

Did this while doing a larger trail and it was nice. Didn’t see anyone on this small trail and got to watch kayakers go by in the water. Has some old nature signs so kind of interesting to read.

Not muddy right now. (3/24/18). 1/2 trail is shaded, 1/2 trail is open to more sun. Boardwalks May have missing planks. Chicken wire added to grip for slippery areas is nice. Two fallen trees to go around. $5 per car fee. Cash into envelope put sticker in car window before hiking. Variety of scenery-woods, river, scrub etc.

Photogging. Walked total 12 miles today from 10:58AM to 3:00 PM. Left some of my knee blood and skin there through one of the trails I took. Overall awesome. Just need to mend before my next photogging event.

The trail off of 301 just north of the river is beautiful, lots of scenery and some ascents and desents that lead you by the river and ravine. Some of the trail is flooded due to storms.
The smaller trails by the park are nice for short walks. There are plenty of deer to watch.

This is a good place for trail running, etc., but Balm Boyette Park is best for mountain biking. The single-track trails are for bike use only. There are maps posted all over the place, so it's hard to get lost. Be sure to bring plenty of water!
