I was the only one on the trail that morning, no markings to keep you on the trail so that kept it interesting.. crossed a small dam and got to a water crossing but didn’t intend to get wet on my run so I turned back and ended up at 4.5mi - there are ATV trails that run parallel with the running path, being in south Florida I was generally surprised at the small elevation change I experienced here, I’ll be back with the intention of finishing the trail!

There are many trails but chose the drive. We will be back to do the trails. Plenty of wildlife to see; Alligators, water foul, blue herons, snow egrets, turtles, cardinals, woodpeckers, and turkeys.

The trail was very enjoyable going up and down the ravines. It's definitely one of Florida hilliest trail.

Great wildlife!

hiked this for the first time with North Florida Trail Blazers. Excellent trails with elevations that most trails in this area don't have. Great views await you on this trail.

I hiked this trail as part of the Florida Trail IDIDAHIKE 2018, always a great State Park to go hike and camp at.
The trails are marked and maintained well

Took a short hike towards old grist mill. Well marked trail. But found it confusing where to locate other trails, then it started to rain. Maybe more next visit
Nice playgrounds and camp sites

Gate was locked on the Bass Rd entry and there was no parking there. Find another entry point. Nice family trail and allows pets. Good amount of shade.

I enjoyed the local trail with the mixed terrain. It’s a great hike to do with friends or after work

Another nice hike on a Saturday morning.

Went in March and there weren’t any mosquitos. This trail is interesting. It’s an out and back with a loop in the middle. It crosses train tracks and has a couple of bridges. Mostly covered though a small portion is open. I would imagine this trail wouldn’t be good for trail running because majority of the trail ground has unearthed tree roots. Kid friendly. Brought my 3 and 4 year old and they did okay.

The UWF West Campus Trails offers a mostly canopied hike on the University of West Florida's nature preserve. While this trail is mostly caters towards the mountain bike crowd, this trail offers some a decent hike for hikers in Northwest Florida looking to add some elevation training to there hike. The 12 mile (gps clocked 11.2) offers more of the same when it comes to the "scenery" of NWFlorida. Due to the amount of PUDS (pointless ups and downs), i rate this trail a 4/5. I want to drop it to 3/5, but the PUDS would actually be quite fun if I was a biker. I would recommend this trail to anyone interested.

Small but excellent walkways and views.

family loved it

Beautiful trail. Plenty of birds and wildlife. The blue loop is well marked but be careful on the yellow loop. You can easily go off trail like I did. The maps to the trail are kept in the black box on the trail information board in the parking. The yellow loop extends into other sections that are not marked on the map.

Very well maintained. Trail is well marked.

The trails here are easy, soft, and sandy. Some parts are very pretty by the water. I ran in the afternoon and it was hot, I’d go in the morning next time.

Lots of different options and combinations for trails meaning that you could come back multiple times and have different experiences. Interesting. Would like to come back. Kid friendly too. I brought my 3 and 4 year old and they enjoyed it.

I don’t think it was a moderate hike it was pretty easy but it was gorgeous!

We took my 60+ parents and our 9, 6 year old. We had a great time and were impressed with the elevation level for Florida. The only down side was the trail was right by the road taking away some of the illusion of being off in nature.

Visiting near Jacksonville and Trail app directed me here. Met some hikers finishing up and recommended white/yellow trails. Nice trails meandering in woods/along creek. Easy hike with a mixture of sand and pine floors.
Evidence of horses, nice wide trails. Plenty of room for animals and man
These trails were tucked away and glad I found it on the Trails app

This park was a development project that was shut down by the government because of endangered habitat. The path was the road going in to the neighborhood. Looks like the road was intentionally torn up. Two loops. Long loop seems to always be closed. No park staff.

This is now one of my favorite trails.

Great trail although I got a little lost But would definitely visit again !!!

I stopped here on my way home from work. Found a beautiful lookout on the Myakka River and enjoyed a brisk walk under the tree canopies.

Great day hike out to the spring. Planning a weekend stay around the spring loop soon.

Trail bridges are closed on the paved portion and trees have fallen and blocked the path through the woods... very disappointing

Nice day for a hike. We saw a pileated woodpecker and a wild pig.
