Fun Trail. One big bridge to traverse but mostly level. Nicely Paved.

What a nice surprise! Take the trail spurs for some amazing views of the Myakka river!

Gorgeous, sunny, sandy, shady. Wildlife (armadillos and crock). Picnic benches and benches for relaxing by the water. Highly recommend! 4/5 as the sand paths make it a little extra dirty and difficult to walk. Overall excellent trail in the North Port area.

Trail is flooded just East of marker #8 as of 4/24/18.

A real great trail, you will have to walk through some water in the rainy season.
I recommend this trail.

beautiful trail like Old Florida first time on trail so was a little nervous about gators. But never did see one. wish they had some fresh water faucet to wet down the pups. but it was just a awesome place.

I stopped here on my way home from work. Found a beautiful lookout on the Myakka River and enjoyed a brisk walk under the tree canopies.

Nice day for a hike. We saw a pileated woodpecker and a wild pig.

Excellent trail surface well maintained. Improvements seem to be continuous. Enjoy the scenery and availability of cafe’s.

Dogs are allowed on 6’ lead (one review said they were NOT). Nice view of river (again, someone said there wasn’t). When you come across a marker there are 2-4 different directions you can go so it is confusing. Some trails were flooded and couldn’t go through (January).

great trail. saw armadill all over the place. Wet in some areas. lots of shade.

Awesome views of the Myakka without a soul around. Very peaceful. The trail had good footing. Trail markers could be clearer at certain points but easy to follow. Best part is it is close to home.

This is a shorter hike, if it has rained recently then there will likely be flooding. A lot of really cool wildlife running around. Saw some armadillos and a big eastern diamond back rattle snake. Had a great day, just wish there was more to explore and some better views of the Myakka. The lack of views could have also been because of recent heavy rains. The water level was very high.

Loved this trail. Great place to take your dog. Very clean and well maintained. Trails clearly marked. Shady, which is great for hot days. Plenty of places to sit and rest. Port-a-potty in the parking lot. Quiet and peaceful.
Thoroughly enjoyed my hike.

Saw the sign ducked in to investigate .. clean place wide trails doesn't seem like it's used much ... have to get my pack, boots and water and explore it a bit more.

We use our Hobie Kayaks in the summer rainy season and the Myaka river is a amazing ride, we have no problem peddling against the currents and enjoy traveling with the current downstream and the beautiful wildlife. The water is from 6" to 8" feet deep in most places and we have seen very few gators.

I did not go on this trail as pets are not permitted but wanted to share that info for others. Looks like a great bird watching trail.

Jerks Preserve is a beautiful natural park. The trail has a loop of just over 3 miles and is an easy walk. There are many side paths and extra things to explore and would be great for responsible children, the trail is mostly sugar sand so be prepared for a challenge if your running. Lots of animal sign including deer, rabbit, gopher, moles and a lot of wild pig sign. Be safe and have fun :)

The trail is relatively well marked with sign posts and clear of debris. The grass is tall so tall socks or long pants are recommended. There is a good mix of shade and sunshine.

The lake is very shallow. Only about 3 feet max. Lots of gators and sand hill cranes.
