This trail is a little too rough for roller skating. There are a few bridges to go over. There are plenty of stops for restrooms and water. I suggest going early in the morning so that you have some shade. Overall a nice trail.

We decided to walk this trail in the opposite direction, but got lost at marker 10. Went two different ways only to find out we were on the wrong trails. Trying the third one was success but still wasn’t sure till marker 9. No maps were available and forgot phone in the car. Considerable hog damage on parts of the trail. Muddy in places, but enough side areas to not get wet. Lots of sun and shade. High weeds that need mowed in areas to find trail. Love bugs were horrendous in the sun.

Good trail but a lot of time in the sun. Well maintained and many options on length as there are many cut throughs.

Lots of roots and sharp turns. My favorite segment was the East half by far. And I was glad the red trail on the way back was easy and flat because I was exhausted.

The trail was clear. Did see one alligator in water about 8’ long. Beginning of trail you can hear traffic. But as you get deeper into the trail there is less noise. It is a rather short trail but we squeezed almost 5 miles out of it back tracking somewhat. Did not see a lot of wildlife. The trail did skirt along some waterways and a lake. The lake is quite large. The scenery did not vary a lot. Some of it is shaded, but mostly hot. There are picnic tables and benches here and there.

Nice lunch spot 6.5 in called Tucker's Camp. Trail isn't really marked. Supposed to be 12.6 miles or something but after Tucker's Camp the map looked deceiving so I took a house trail back and connected back into initial trail. Overall good hike.

Really nice trail offering a safe place to ride bikes. There are some water stations, bike tools and seats. Well done!

Pleasant easy walking path with nice views of the river. Steep banks to the water could be dangerous with little children. There are several shaded picnic tables for resting.

It was a lovely trail. Did not really see any animals except dogs and they were all very well behaved. We did take a side path that went down to the river. There was a lovely bench there. Only saw 3 sets of people on the trail. A lot of the trail is under trees but some of it is out in the open with no cover. Some of the trail does have hog damage but there was never difficulty walking. We did have to cross a couple muddy areas but there were side paths that made it easy to pass. If challenged, one could just use a Walking-stick to help with balance. With all the switchbacks you can decide to cut out early or go the whole circle as you will see on the map.

NOT AN OFFICIAL TRAIL (but likely navigable by kayak). Starting at the weir on the southern area of Upper Myakka Lake, the trail quickly narrows and is overgrown. The trail we took was that of wild boar and raccoons and was not easily traversed, but the walk paid off with a few private gator sitings. Hiked this in early March. Would likely be overgrown or flooded in the rainy season, but my friends and I enjoyed this trail for the adventure this off the beaten path “trail” provided.

We had some fun following the game trails that were still intact along this river, but I would not say this is a hiking trail and it is not easy to navigate.

The trail was through forest and open areas. It appears that the county has been ploughing up some of the hog damage on the trails. Trails are flat. The only wildlife was a raccoon, cat birds, warblers which were hard to see.

Pretty views of River and easy walking path. a good finish to the South trail.

nice walk, not overly interesting but easy and submerged in natural growth. a good nature fix.

Nice walk in the woods with a couple of views of the water. Three cars at the lot, but didn't pass anyone on the trail on a Wednesday morning. There was about a 10 foot section of trail that was flooded just past marker 8. I didn't see a way through without getting my feet wet, so turned around there.

Great trail for my parents old dog...nice river side trail....well taken care of...cool cut throughs to extend and make the trail seem different...
