Great little nature area...keep an eye out for alligators, bunnies, snakes, and a wide variety of water birds. It’s a short and easy trail but there are little workout stations along the main loop (pull-up bars, rings, dip bars, etc.) if you want to stop and do some exercises along the way. This lake is popular for kayaking and canoeing as well. As of June 16, 2020 there are still some features of the park (playgrounds, exercise areas, picnic areas, etc) closed off due to COVID-19, but the rest of the park is open for use. Day Use Fee: $2 Dogs are not allowed on the boardwalk section, but on-leash is ok for the rest of the trails. Accessibility: The trail surface has boardwalk, paved, and dirt sections and is typically at least four feet wide. It is flat with an estimated average grade of 1% and a max grade of 2%. Most wheelchair/mobility equipment and stroller users will find at least the paved and boardwalk sections of this trail navigable, although the nature trail through the sandhill habitat with the dirt surface may be too slippery or muddy.Show more
