Great trail however the fee is ridiculous. Don’t we pay enough taxes?

This is a fun and easy loop to ride just about any bike on because it’s pretty flat and paved. I don’t have a mountain bike-just a leisurely old thing with a basket and it’s just fine. My only complaints is that there isn’t a lot of shade on the trail at all, but hey, Florida.

If you’re on foot there are some little side trails that are a bit more woodsy and shady feeling.

We went about noon today and though it was very hot, it was a great bike ride. Most of the other local trails are flooded, but there was just one spot where about a half-inch of water covered the paved trail.

It’s an excellent way to see about a half-dozen Florida habitats, from swamp to pine scrub.

Don't be mislead. This is no hiking trail. This is a paddling adventure only.

Had a great hike with the kids there. Saw gators, turtles and a hawk. The rapids are beautiful, bathrooms & playground are nearby.

fun but don't go on this trail in the hot weather

Really shows you what a wild Florida looks like. The rapids make for some great photography and as you make your way through the trail you really do feel one with nature, especially to be so close to home.

Great trail with awesome views of the river and "Florida rapids!" I also did the Baynard trail. Great park!

My favorite area to hike around Tampa so far. Very few people typically. Definitely avoid the trails to your right as you enter the area after rains. Can get VERY muddy back in there. The palmetto field at the north end is beautiful on a cooler morning.

I did this along with the Baynard and Seminole trails and it was very worth it! Great scenery and good wildlife. The rapids view is very unique to the state and was extremely relaxing to be around. I highly recommend this trail.

This trail is great for bikers, hikers, rollerbladers, and runners who want miles of training on smooth paved road. There’s off the beaten paths too if you want to explore.

Trail bridges are closed on the paved portion and trees have fallen and blocked the path through the woods... very disappointing

was a nice walk until we found out the bridge was closed till further notice so turned around only got 2 miles in

We came here on a Saturday morning in February hoping to see some wildlife. The hike was nice but pretty boring after awhile. The path winds along the river giving you glimpses of the water and occasional kayakers. The scenery along the river was nice - dark water and jungle-like banks. We didn't see any wildlife but saw ample evidence of their presence - feral pigs had rooted through the whole area, churning up the sandy soil. We did hear that there is a 15 ft alligator named Moe in the area but we didn't see any signs unless the absence of wildlife attests to his predatory appetite!
We were not bothered by mosquitos. The road to the trailhead may make you think that you made a wrong turn!

Beautiful scenery as the hike runs right beside the river.

nice river for a kayak trip....up to Hillsborough state park or down to lettuce lake park. Trail is nice also for a short hike

Great place to ride. Deer, pigs, great place to see wildlife.

Kid friendly and stroller friendly.

Awesome little trail with a beautiful landscape and wildlife!

trail has some down trees in multiple areas would not go after rain has a lot of lower areas that hold water and pretty muddy

Beautiful and very peaceful! A little more traffic than the other trails and can get a little tight in certain areas, especially if you have dogs...but completely worth it!

Great trails. Well maintained and easily walk-able. Suggest weekday visitation to avoid the heavy crowds on Saturdays and Sundays. It rained lightly which removed almost all of the hikers from the trails this past weekend. being prepared with rain gear was beneficial as I had the trails virtually to myself!

Attempted to do Hillsborough River however the trail was too muddy.

Old Fort King still had a lot of trees down over the trail which required climbing over or under. Seen a few alligators and lots of birds, nice trail.
