I did this along with the Baynard and Seminole trails and it was very worth it! Great scenery and good wildlife. The rapids view is very unique to the state and was extremely relaxing to be around. I highly recommend this trail.

This trail is great for bikers, hikers, rollerbladers, and runners who want miles of training on smooth paved road. There’s off the beaten paths too if you want to explore.

Trail bridges are closed on the paved portion and trees have fallen and blocked the path through the woods... very disappointing

was a nice walk until we found out the bridge was closed till further notice so turned around only got 2 miles in

We came here on a Saturday morning in February hoping to see some wildlife. The hike was nice but pretty boring after awhile. The path winds along the river giving you glimpses of the water and occasional kayakers. The scenery along the river was nice - dark water and jungle-like banks. We didn't see any wildlife but saw ample evidence of their presence - feral pigs had rooted through the whole area, churning up the sandy soil. We did hear that there is a 15 ft alligator named Moe in the area but we didn't see any signs unless the absence of wildlife attests to his predatory appetite!
We were not bothered by mosquitos. The road to the trailhead may make you think that you made a wrong turn!

Beautiful scenery as the hike runs right beside the river.

nice river for a kayak trip....up to Hillsborough state park or down to lettuce lake park. Trail is nice also for a short hike

Great place to ride. Deer, pigs, great place to see wildlife.

Kid friendly and stroller friendly.

Awesome little trail with a beautiful landscape and wildlife!

trail has some down trees in multiple areas would not go after rain has a lot of lower areas that hold water and pretty muddy

Beautiful and very peaceful! A little more traffic than the other trails and can get a little tight in certain areas, especially if you have dogs...but completely worth it!

Great trails. Well maintained and easily walk-able. Suggest weekday visitation to avoid the heavy crowds on Saturdays and Sundays. It rained lightly which removed almost all of the hikers from the trails this past weekend. being prepared with rain gear was beneficial as I had the trails virtually to myself!

Attempted to do Hillsborough River however the trail was too muddy.

Old Fort King still had a lot of trees down over the trail which required climbing over or under. Seen a few alligators and lots of birds, nice trail.

Very pretty, well maintained trail that lets you see some rare Florida rapids. This trail tends to be a bit more crowded than the other HRSP trails, but makes up for it with some beautiful scenery and interesting wildlife spotting opportunities.

I only had time for a 3.75 walk but all in all it was very nice. Only 0.5 miles are paved and there is a wide "shoulder" you can walk on. It's an equine trail so most is shaded which is great for the summers here. I want to do the next segment which looks almost all wooded.

My kids loved this park! It was easy to walk with an abundance of wildlife to see in, on, and around the river.

The water was low because of the drought, but the scenery was absolutely beautiful. Lots of wildlife in marsh birds and a variety of plant life. The river was very peaceful and therapeutic for gator phobia.

This is a nice trail mostly gently rolling, the portion overlooking the river rapids is scenic and soothing. Well marked and connects to other trails in the state park.

Great place for biking. Love the scenery.

I have completed this many times. It is a great canoe trip and excellent for photography... especially of birds and gators.

This trail was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We saw a huge gator. Lots of water and beautiful views. This is the prettiest trail I've ever been on! We are so glad we stayed at the park and got to experience all this beautiful nature. If you haven't been, it's a must go! It's truly amazing to escape from the hustle and bustle of reality and its not far either. We came from Saint Pete and it only took us 40 minutes to arrive at our getaway!

We did this trail at night with a lantern. It was sooooo awesome! Pretty scary but really awesome! There is an awesome suspension bridge in the beginning of the trail. We took an awesome picture of an alligator. ❤️

A very nice park. Visited here some years ago with a group to ride our TRIKKE's. The trail had plenty of width for riding and sharing with cyclists, joggers and families.
