As other reviewers have noted, yes this is right next to the dump. Aside from the smells, there is trash littered throughout the unpaved trails, including a lot of broken glass and what appeared to be soiled tissues. This trail also is right near what I believe is a Tampa Police Department training area, I heard lots of sirens and rapid acceleration/deceleration. But there is an observation tower on the Southwest side of the peninsula.

extremely nice trail..

Very easy trail... started at Cypress Point Park.... to Clearwater and back... Total 22.21 miles. Good thing it was a cloudy day... no shade. Differently and early morning or an evening trail.

Another beautiful downtown path right on the water. Perfect for walking/ running/ biking/ roller blading

Beautiful walking/ running / bike path in downtown Tampa.

Perfect 7mi loop to run and bike on

Beautiful scenery and things to do along the way. Great for people of all ages and abilities, pet friendly. The trail could definitely use more trees for shade. It’s only April, but the sun was really hot by 11:00 am.

It’s next to a landfill worst park I have ever been too will not go back!

Just a long sidewalk but an amazing view

It’s a good little stroll combined with the other trails that are nearby in the same park. There was a bench overlooking the water. That was relaxing. Was able to sit down and read a little while. Very private. Bring bug spray!

Gorgeous run along Tampa’s Riverwalk. Beautiful views and beautiful people. There were also many military informational plaques and Memorial’s along the route that I thought were very impressive. If you do a run, enjoy it... but try and go back later for a leisurely stroll so you can see and read all of the history along the Riverwalk. I sacrificed some of my run just so I could stop numerous times and read the history.

Nice area but trails could be a little better marked. Saw an armadillo. Fun!

It was a good and well-taken-care-of trail, but it would be great for there to be a few toilets out on the trail in case of emergencies.

Very clean, nice boardwalk with lots of shade. Saw alligators, armadillos & a variety of birds.

Great views! Lovely walk.

Beautiful trail. Plenty of birds and wildlife. The blue loop is well marked but be careful on the yellow loop. You can easily go off trail like I did. The maps to the trail are kept in the black box on the trail information board in the parking. The yellow loop extends into other sections that are not marked on the map.

I would like to try this trail again, but with a good GPS. The trail is not marked well at all. As a matter of fact, I never did find the trailhead entrance. Then after I found the trail, there were 3 different unmarked path choices at one point, and discovered later that’s were I went off trail. It took me about an hour to backtrack. I would have enjoyed it so much more if it was clearly marked. The scenery is very pretty and it isn’t crowded at all, actually very isolated.

We came here for a short hike and wanted to see some wildlife. We were here on a Saturday afternoon in February and it was busy but didn't feel too crowded. It was a nice walk around the lake on a boardwalk and allowed for an interesting point of view. We did see an alligator, lots of birds, turtles, and some fish. We also heard two Barred owls calling to one another.
A nice introduction to Florida's wilder side.

Hard to find the trailhead from the parking lot, but once there the Hardwood Forest Loop and Cypress Spur were our favorites. Noah was a tree-climbing, vine-swinging fool out there.

Beautiful scenic trail. Lots of people jogging and walking dogs and enjoying life. I will do this again constantly!

Hidden gem in Pasco County

This is a great ride. Watch the wind.

Fantastic!

Fun, great place to take pictures.

we entered through the wilsky access point and traveled north on the trail. it was a nice walk. not lot of opportunity for unpaved hiking and what was available was a little questionable as when you get off the paved trail, there is some trash and liquor bottles. not really sure what you'd find if you went much further into the woods. on the trail was ok. wherever we go, we hope for very little traffic as we have a very nervous dog that is not able to enjoy the day with too much going on around him. Here, there was a LOT of bike riders that don't think twice about passing by as close as they can get even though they see us walk as far as we can off the trail to allow a wide berth. it was somewhat stressful at times for our pup. We are still on the lookout for a more secluded off road nature hiking experience.

It was amazing

Three short trails can be combined. There are also canoe rentals available next to the nature center. Nice saltwater aquariums in the center.

Try it, you’ll like it.....very much.

Its a good, short trail and you can see some wild life.
