Maintained nice and had a neat little learning facility for my little one.

family friendly fun. very well maintained. took my 6 and 16 year olds on a fathers day hike. both had a great time. saw 3 alligators and a lot of turtles, birds, and squirrels. definitely one of our favorite hikes in this area.

Close to home and a great place to come walk the dog or go for a stroll. They could renovate a few of the trails and the huts but other than that it's a great place to bring the family for a picnic or a walk.

Both loops and the spur are open now, with minimal water on the ground for all the rain we just had.

Only the preserve loop is open right now as of April 2018. So that is the loop on the right. It is marked on the map in the parking lot. Also the trail head is kind of hidden but it is also marked on the map. Did the whole loop today, it was about 2 miles starting from the parking lot and back. The trail is marked well. Didn’t run into any wildlife either. It was actually pretty peaceful. Nice little walk.

As other reviewers have noted, yes this is right next to the dump. Aside from the smells, there is trash littered throughout the unpaved trails, including a lot of broken glass and what appeared to be soiled tissues. This trail also is right near what I believe is a Tampa Police Department training area, I heard lots of sirens and rapid acceleration/deceleration. But there is an observation tower on the Southwest side of the peninsula.

extremely nice trail..

It’s next to a landfill worst park I have ever been too will not go back!

It’s a good little stroll combined with the other trails that are nearby in the same park. There was a bench overlooking the water. That was relaxing. Was able to sit down and read a little while. Very private. Bring bug spray!

Nice area but trails could be a little better marked. Saw an armadillo. Fun!

Very clean, nice boardwalk with lots of shade. Saw alligators, armadillos & a variety of birds.

Beautiful trail. Plenty of birds and wildlife. The blue loop is well marked but be careful on the yellow loop. You can easily go off trail like I did. The maps to the trail are kept in the black box on the trail information board in the parking. The yellow loop extends into other sections that are not marked on the map.

I would like to try this trail again, but with a good GPS. The trail is not marked well at all. As a matter of fact, I never did find the trailhead entrance. Then after I found the trail, there were 3 different unmarked path choices at one point, and discovered later that’s were I went off trail. It took me about an hour to backtrack. I would have enjoyed it so much more if it was clearly marked. The scenery is very pretty and it isn’t crowded at all, actually very isolated.

We came here for a short hike and wanted to see some wildlife. We were here on a Saturday afternoon in February and it was busy but didn't feel too crowded. It was a nice walk around the lake on a boardwalk and allowed for an interesting point of view. We did see an alligator, lots of birds, turtles, and some fish. We also heard two Barred owls calling to one another.
A nice introduction to Florida's wilder side.

Hard to find the trailhead from the parking lot, but once there the Hardwood Forest Loop and Cypress Spur were our favorites. Noah was a tree-climbing, vine-swinging fool out there.

Hidden gem in Pasco County

Fun, great place to take pictures.

It was amazing

Three short trails can be combined. There are also canoe rentals available next to the nature center. Nice saltwater aquariums in the center.

Its a good, short trail and you can see some wild life.

Nice park and at least it's open again. Some trails blocked off due to flooding. It doesn't have many miles of paths so only do when I have limited time to hike - gets too boring otherwise to do the same trails 2-3 times in one day.

Fantastic Trail for a run..

Been to Lettuce Lake many times. This is our "Go-To" hike for weekend mornings. We always take our camera because the wildlife is different every time. Never know what you will see there.

Lettuce Lake is a nice little stroll conveniently located near USF's campus. As others have mentioned, the main attraction here is not enjoying solitude in nature - the park tends to be very crowded, especially on weekends. We mainly enjoy coming here for the wide variety of wildlife that can easily be observed from the boardwalk: herons, wood storks, roseate spoonbills, egrets, woodpeckers, anhingas, gators, snakes, turtles, and fish are all typical sightings on any given day. Coming early in the morning is a good way to miss some of the crowds.

Nice easy walk with great wildlife and scenery.

The boardwalk through the lake and riverside is amazing. I was there on a Friday early morning hike and the waterfowl wer everywhere. Also saw two hawk. Was unprepared for pix but the serene atmosphere was enjoyable.
