We did the east loop which is a 5 mile hike. It is a lot of up and down terrain. We didn’t see any wildlife but was a beautiful hike.

Amazing trail! I hope to be back soon. Seen hawks, herons and snowy egrets. I hope heaven looks like this.

saw four deer, three wild boar, and a owl. trail was well marked. we did west than east. East is more difficult due to elevation changes.

I kept wanting to take a right on one of the “roads” but the no trespassing signs and not enough time deterred me. At least this trail has a few little bumps up and down!

Warmish and humid Went clockwise this time

Beautiful trail. Shade most of the way.

Easy terrain. I would not recommend on a hot day as the beginning leg of the trail is wide open terrain with no shade. We walked this trail at 58 degrees starting and ended at 62 degrees. It was very hot starting out at 58 degrees and sunny. The trails were very secluded and easy to navigate, not many tree roots or large rocks. It was a pleasant walk.

Beautiful. Did it with my 1.5 year old on my back. He loved it as much as I did. Varied terrain and views. We saw lots of birds and three deer. Will be back to do the west loop.

Really beautiful. Could be a great short trail if the bridge gets reopened. Not stroller friendly, despite me shoving ours on it. :) The Indian mounds are kinda cool, too.

Easy lunch time walk through pine forest and oaks.

Trail was a so nice, weather was great and I went with my girlfriend and her pup. Overall a great time and there’s a huge open field for all kinds of activities. Just wished the trail was a longer loop. All in all it was a fun and very easy trail that could be great for beginners who like running and biking.

Hey Karen - yes you are totally correct about reroutes done to the 3 loops just over a year ago. FFS rangers & volunteers worked on it for a week or so. An amazing experience and serious hard & dangerous work. Not sure if the reroutes were meant to be permanent .... FTA volunteers will be there 1-23-20 to reblaze and clear the small stuff. I’ll mention the missing mile markers but it’s probably a very low priority for FFS staff. Burn season is starting soon and they have lots to burn all thru Lake Talquin State Forest.

This was my first hike ever and I enjoyed it greatly, learned that I bug spray does matter after I found about 4 ticks on myself. The whole loop took me ~3-3.5hrs, but there is the option to cut it roughly in half by taking a shortcut through the outdoor gun range. It was overcast for me, but wouldn't want to be out here on a sunny day as there was no real covering shade almost the whole way.

Good location and close to the FSU campus. Shorter distance.

Popular shared use trail with a fair amount of hikers. A few areas with fairly long and steep uphill climbs. There is one confusing trail marker that points in the wrong direction. Nice views of the lake. Shorter distance.

With osprey pack

This was the first time I've been to this park and I must say the reviews do not disappoint. There is something for everyone whether you want to hike, bike, jog, play in the park with your children or even have a romantic walk or picnic near the lake or in a open field. 5/5!!

Great series of interconnected trails! The lower singletrack trails nearest the railroad tracks are steep, fast and lots of fun. The upper trail through the woods is a more level and slower paced but beautiful. This trail system provides single track and shared use trails. Lots of options depending on what type of ride you want to take. Fair amount of hikers and other bikers around. One of my “go to” trails!
