What trail?

This is a good trail if you want to go out for a walk, but if you're trying to get "in nature," I would pass. Part of the trail has you basically walking through the backyards of homes in a subdivision. Otherwise, the lake at the end is gorgeous and there was cool wildlife out there.

This trail is ideal to run with dogs. Most of the trail is shaded with green canopy. There is parking and water available (for humans and dogs).

Great series of connected bikes trails running from Weems Road east past the lakes, up through the heavily wooded hills and even across lakes to Billy’s Trail and Alford Greenway. Very diverse topography, and lots to see. There is truly something for everyone on this trail system! It’s one of my “go to” bike trails for a good work out and beautiful scenery. Easy to moderate.

Great easy wooded trail in the heart of the city. Easy to get to and fun!

One of our favorite trails. A little difficult to find the best exit from the end of the outer loop. Easy to moderate.

Nice open trails with a lot to choose from. The West Loop is nice with a view of Lake Jackson. The East Loop is more in the woods. Easy to moderate trails. Good diversity.

Gorgeous trail!

Not a bad walk. I think I was the first one there since I got all the spider webs. A lot of roots so watch your step.

Such a pleasant surprise! Near the park ave area, there is another little set of trail systems accessible via fern trail. Fun adventure.

This trail is a true North Florida gem! Needs a little maintenance but still a great trail. Did the outer loop (4.5 miles) which started with the Sinks Trail and connected to the Gum Swamp Trail to get the maximum distance.

My favorite trail in Tallahassee. The dog loves it too. Usually not busy, great views of the lake.

Great moderate trail, few roots and marginal elevation rises. My wife and I love the open pine forest terrain!

Nice easy trail with just the right changes in terrain and scenery. The Tupelo Swamp was the highlight of hike.

Can’t believe it is right here in the middle of Tallahassee !

backpacking

A hidden gem close to Tallahassee. Very well blazed orange loop. Backpacking the outer loop will give you a moderate 4.5 miles in and 4.5 miles out., if you camp on the site on the center loop. The primitive camp sites are on Lake Talquin and do not have any facilities, but do have a fire ring and a bench. You can easily hike in after lunch and out by lunch the next day. The trail is a moderate or easy/rolling loop with lots of short bridge crossings over streams. Plenty of places to purify water if needed but the hike is short enough that you can carry enough water to get in and out.

Nice trails. Plenty of options as far as routes and difficulty

This is a pretty good trail, but I would not consider it to be moderate difficulty. It’s an easy stroll. We took our dog as well.

We love taking our dog to this park and we hike here often. I would not rate any of the trails as moderate, however.

This trail is very wide and open but some sections have a more narrow walking trail just to the side where you will be more in the woods. Views of the water throughout but you don't get very close to it. We went on a cold but sunny winter day and had a great time. This trail connects to others in the area - Tom Brown park and Lafayette Heritage Trail)

Great trail! Feels like you are way out in the woods even though you are in town.

Trail was quiet and easy to follow, with nice scenery. Was pleasantly surprised! Wasn’t quite sure where to park based on directions from All Trails, so picked up a map at the gate entrance which was incredibly helpful. Parked on the side of the road down past the equestrian field and entered the trail from there. Map was helpful on hike as well.

Based on previous reviews I was a bit nervous since I was hiking it alone. I found the maps at the trailhead helpful and comforting. There are clear distinctions between foot and equine with some crossover. Choosing the central loop for a day hike I took east entrance. Quiet and well marked that is until I approached the primitive campground sign. I lost the trail here and was definitely anxious over that. I have to assume the hurricane season has had some effect, three uprooted trees seen. Departing the primitive site, which was a quite lovely view of the lake with a fire ring and picnic table, I lost the trail again. Fortunately the equine trail crossing helped me pick it back up. Saw four white tailed deer frolicking. Equine trails were rather busy.
