We diverged off trail due to some flooding we came across before reaching the end. We didn’t let that bring us down so we continued the hike to South Lido Nature Preserve and walked along the coast line. Very pretty. Just make sure to bring insect repellent!

Not many spots like this in Florida from what I gather. The trail isn’t that long, but you can turn it into an easy 2 - 3 mile loop by deciding to go down the little extra hill side paths. The incline up the hill is a little steep but I made it just fine and was only slightly winded once I got to the top. (FYI: I’m 41 and 280 lbs who takes BP medicine. So someone more fit than I will have no problems.). The hill provides a nice view all around. The shade here is hit or miss but I was never far from a spot to get out of the sun if I needed it. This is def worth a great visit and I think it would be a great spot for runners also.

This trail is gorgeous. There's a whole watch tower with a bridge connecting to another, beautiful to take pictures at. It's a huge park that includes tram and boat tours. $6 entrance fee!

A mostly shaded set of forest trails... it's short and was overgrown in spots during my visit but it's a decent place for a quick walk. (The trail was also underwater in one spot during my visit, which is why there's a small gap in the recorded path. Hopefully someone else can send a corrected path to AllTrails at some point.)

Much of the trail is underwater. Also the top half of the tower is closed off so that was disappointing.

A nice little walk that includes some shaded, wooded areas to go with a number of pretty views across the water. The views offer some nice looks at Sarasota and some of the fancier houses in the area. The trail wasn’t crowded either, despite there being a decent amount of people at the nearby beach. It was a good way to get some unexpected solitude.

Quick walk that eventually leads through some woods to a deck overlooking a popular paddling spot. I wouldn’t recommend going out of the way to do this trail but it has its moments.

There are other beaches and beach areas along the Suncoast I like better but this beach and the nearby town are certainly worth a visit. It’s crowded but spacious, with its famous pretty white sands.

Went hiking with 8 BoyScouts working on their Hiking Merit Badge and another adult leader. It was a beautiful trail. We hikes 11.74 miles according to our tracker. It rained for the last 2 hours of the hike. We had water at ankle level at some point, but it wasn’t anything too terrible. The kids were all smiling the entire time. We saw a lot of wild life, including a falcon! Thinking of going again but we’ll add camping. The campground looked very nice and well kept.

Very neat trail that travels through some diverse parts of the Park. There is a long exposed section between Mossy Oak and Bee Island campground so make sure you bring extra water and sun protection.

Lovely easy trail. Partially shaded, peaceful, esp. with few people using the main park. I still havent figured out the "loop" or numbered unattractive markers. But I haven't really tried. I can get in a nice 40 minute power walk with the dogs. I usually go in the morning so bugs not a problem. Have only been using the trail since March so don't what it's like in rainy season It sure is pretty
