Really sick of people running with their dogs off leash in a leash park. It’s one thing if your dog is trained to recall. It’s a whole other game if your dog chases after me and mine when we’re trying to get away from them.

An easy hike through many different plant communities and along the edge of one of the few coastal dune lakes found around the world. Some of it is through the sand dunes which is a rarity. We always take time to sit on the bench and read the prayer of the woods each time we go!

Many trails to hike here at Topsail. 15 miles of trails that have recently been renamed and there is an updated map available at the ranger station. View rare coastal dune lakes untouched by development, endangered carnivorous pitcher plants, old growth long leaf pine trees, remnants of the turpentine industry, a beautiful beach unlike any other, and much more!!

Great trail. Well maintained. The trail head is about 500 yards east of where the pin is in the app. There’s a nice parking lot, giving it easy access.

Enjoyable trail. Only downfall is the distance you cover on fire roads. Some standing water-had to leave the trail once to clear it.

It’s a good trail. When hiking it it was muddy. That made the experience overall better though and made it a little bit more fun. This spot is pretty good for photos you come into almost three different types of sceneries throughout hiking. It is a bit over 5 miles and the trail head is moved further down the road.

Despite recent heavy rains the trails is a little wet, but not flooded, I rode right through the water, up to inch. The greater challenge are sand and roots. The eastern portion has water up to 2-4 inches in 2 places. Trail is well marked with blue blazes. The only loop portion is the scenic lake loop marked with yellow markings. Then you have to back track or continue 2 miles on the blue trail to route 395. Instead of backtracking I rode on the paved separate bike paths along 395 and 30 A, cutting through the beautiful and bike friendly Watercolor community, following Western Lake Drive, back to the trailhead.

Route 30 A Bridge out between Grayton Beach and Blue Mountain Beach, both road and trail impassable. Long detour along routes 283, US 98 (heavy fast traffic and no separate bike path!), and 83, not recommended! Alternative route through Longleaf Pine State Forest ( unpaved moderate trail ) fun but more challenging.

Not great, but not bad either. I started at the western trailhead and rode 5 miles to Hwy 283 and back. First part of the trail flowed well and was fun, but it seemed every time I got my speed up I ran up on a lot of exposed roots. There’s a couple spots where it’s overgrown and dangerous as you can’t see the trail ahead. This is NOT a loop trail, so be careful for 2 way traffic. And there’s a section where there was a controlled burn that still smells bad. I found the trail too sandy to my liking, but that’s what you get on the FL coast.

Jan 1, 2020 was our first day hike it was awesome day

Beautiful walk along the sugar white sand beach.

Eastern Lake Yellow Trail, according to published trail maps, is a 3.5 mile loop which connects to the Red Trail (6 mile) and Orange Trail (11 miles). It's flat walking, some of which is on fire roads. Wet and muddy in some places due to recent rain but not impassable. Well marked. Will return to walk long sections of the loop. Many of the recordings shown here are actually the yellow and red loop combined.

4pm run out and back from west end to hwy 83. Saw 5 deer and not one single person - very peaceful. Right after a heavy rain, some water but not too bad. Glad to have this trial so close.

Nice trail along 30A. Minimal shade, so be sure to bring lots of water during hot months. Be careful along the areas where there are condos, rental houses, etc as there’s a lot of traffic.

great trails and great beach

The trail described is the yellow and red trails combined. The yellow trail is 3.5 miles . There are many sections that are very sandy, but this was a nice contrast to my normal North Georgia trails.

We went down to 30A for a beach vacation and this trail is basically the sidewalk that spans the length of 30A that goes through all the different beach towns...Rosemary, Alys, Seagrove, Watersound, Seaside, Watercolor, Grayton, Blue Mountain etc beaches. I took my road bike down and did some cycling on 30A itself and took a video, feel free to check it out: https://youtu.be/KOkOE7hJ3ME Lots of people go running, walking, cycling on the trail/sidewalk...just know it can get super oppressive out there heat-wise in the summer as there is minimal shade and is a complete cooker. Be sure to bring some water! The trail/sidewalk is in good repair in some spots...others could certainly use a resurfacing as there are numerous bumps and cracks along it's length. Keep your head on a swivel when crossing the road and driveways as 30A can get pretty busy. If you have a road bike, be sure to bring it with you to enjoy some scenic rides on a fairly flat road!
