dog friendly great trails

Didn’t see any birds (I was looking forward to that). The boardwalk is nice though :)

All boardwalk but very nice. Could be a great birding area during certain seasons.

This park is known as a habitat for endanged pitcher plants. Nice, easy out and back trail on a boardwalk. You'll see water about a mile in. There are longer trails to around Perdido Bay. The scenery is beautiful with low palms among tall yellow pines. We spotted several mushrooms. We look forward to visiting during the spring and fall for the wildflower displays.

The Bayou Marcus Birding Trail is a relaxing, easy in and out on a boardwalk with lots of benches along the way. We thought it was the perfect way to start 2020 with a walk here on a cool January day. We enjoyed listening to the birds and as a bonus we saw an armadillo rooting around..

great trail! lots of fun and peaceful

This was a beautiful walk on Dec. 5th. It was a warm day! I can't wait for spring when all the birds, flowers and butterflies are out. Several rest stops along the way. Peaceful place to sit. I can see where bug repellents would be needed in the Spring/Summer as it is through wetlands on a raised boardwalk. There are 2 sides from the parking area off of Alekia. To the left goes to a pond and to the right goes to a wooded area. They do not meet.

Beautiful day for walking and sight seeing love it

It gets a little confusing because there’s multiple trails and we got lost very easily. Other than that it was a great trail for the colder times of the year.

First time here and walked the boardwalk circle. started to go off into the longer trail and there were no trail indicators and battery was low on my GPS so I turned back.

Good trail for walking and running.

Nice relaxing hike. Saw a cottonmouth on the trail. Watch your dog(s).

Great trail with a lot of different options. A nice change of terrain, with a lot of ups and downs. Have a game plan of which trail you want to take when you go (there's a few to choose from varying in distance) and stick to the markings. I ran into a few other hikers and mountain bikers. I will be back to finish exploring the other trails!

I absolutely love this trail but I struggle trying to find someone to go with me. Women out there would yall trust doing this trail all by yourself??? Please feel free to leave a comment.

Great system of trails but a little out of sync with the AllTrails maps.

Great walk, easy terrain. well marked and maintained

Large Rattle Snake a mile in with my one year old son . Be very careful.

Nice and easy trail...lots to see along the way. Be sure to climb up the watch tower.

We only did the Big Lagoon loop since it was getting warm. The trail was well marked. We climbed the observation tower and got some great photos of birds in the lagoon. Very enjoyable walk.

This was a good trail and was marked very well. There were a lot of hairpin turns, which I didn’t like. Also, the map at the start of the trail said it was a 9.75 mile long run, not an 11 mile loop.

Awesome trail! It’s in the woods but not too far from the public. Nice greenery and trail is clearly laid out. Wouldn’t recommend in wet weather.

Not bad for an evening walk. It’s not a nature walk but more of a campus tour. It will go to some of the disc golf grassy area but is primarily a sidewalk health walk, meaning it will be likely lit up come dusk. I prefer a quiet dirt trail away from cars, but this one I’m sure you can safely walk at dusk.

Always love this one. Boardwalk needs some maintenance but it is perfectly walkable.

We greatly enjoyed this trail. Took our 6 year old and she loved it. Easily a family trail that everyone can enjoy. I definitely recommend

Quite very relaxing.

Nice hike through lots of low-growth palms. Nice water views for approx 1 mile or so. No mosquitos out around 11am today. $3 parking fee. Pit toilet at trailhead.

Whoever blazed the trail on here was obviously in a kayak, not walking. But i walked half on the beach and then the road back. Great workout!
