Love this trail. One of my favorites when visiting Florida.

Has many flooded ruts that can be bypassed if you don't mind taking the sawgrass around them. lots of mosquitoes so bring spray. It go get to the north end at low tide you can walk through the sand of the mangroves that connect to the intercoastal water.

Dirty. Trash everywhere along the trail. Homeless people are everywhere at night. So much money to do this, and no upkeep or sense of security at all. Loud from the highway which runs right along side of it, which would be fine if it wasn’t so awful. We didn’t even walk to the end because we did not feel safe going further. Palmetto/Bradenton is not an area anyone should hike alone in, to be honest. Druggies and thieves everywhere. Make sure you lock your car doors if you go, they love to break in to unlocked cars over here.

Great day hike trail! Good mix of shell paths and boardwalks to keep you interested. Several loops you can take which is great if you have to cut your walk short for any reason. My only criticism would be to have better markings on the shorter loops on how to access the perimeter waterside trail. Also it isn't marked clearly on the map, but the middle boardwalk DOES connect with the back perimeter trail!

Nice trail; easy walk w/lots of wildlife to see. This place has an launch area for canoe or kayak to get out in the bay. Caught all kinds of fish every time I’ve made it out that way. Saw turtles, manatees, porpoise, dolphin, a zillion birds in the area.

Poorly kept up trash everywhere ☹️

Great Trail. Nice Shade. Easy hike with the wife and kids.

Easy trail with beautiful scenery. My kiddos especially enjoyed it.

FYI, there is no trail called Emerson Loop Trail. There are several named trails and if you combine them you can loop the park. Some are lacking in identification. But, as one local told me it is hard to get lost here, although I took a wrong turn and ended up walking an extra .5 mile. Typical FL trail; flat and sandy, or shell trails. Some boardwalks that will take you to the water where we witnessed manatees feeding near the mangroves.

nice little hike, kids like it

Kid friendly park, has covered picnic tables and a playground. A boardwalk with a Manatee River overlook pier. North parking is partly covered by Solar Panels.

Now for the bad >> Rt 301 is on the east side of Estuary so there is a LOT of road noise!!!!

Saw the butt end of a couple hogs. Trail is mostly in a dirt road path. Gets muddy in some spots. Bring mosquito spray.

fun and short hike. really enjoy the views.

As a Gulf Coast Floridian, it is often difficult finding interesting hikes along Florida's beautiful west coast. Emerson Point is one of the exceptions. Views of the Skyway Bridge & mouth of Tampa Bay from the heavily venerated north shore are terrific. Lightly used even "in season", it feels like being lost in a jungle wilderness.

Parked on the side of street (not a member, don't have key to gate). Easy walking trails, 1.6 miles total that interlace. NO map at kiosk or on Felts Audubon web site!!!!! Many birds and butterflies!!!!!! Would have gotten another Star if there was a trail map.

Update: Visited again 1/25/18 and 3/14/18 there were MAPS at Kiosk. Added the 4th STAR!!!!

First FL hike did the north part of the loop with the lookout tower first day did the south loop with the Indian mound the second day. FLOWERS were a blooming!!!

North part of loop along bay, was more primitive than the south part. Parking wasn't a problem at Indian Mound, pickup a map at info board.

My girlfriend and I spent the afternoon walking the trial it was so beautiful. Seen some wild animals there to. The only down side was that there was not enough of trash cans. So people are throwing there trash on the ground. Maybe add a couple more trash cans!!

Totally didn't expect to see so much beauty on this amazing historical trail! Clean restrooms, nice welcome center, beautiful views of the water, educational points along the way about the history of this amazing place and great for dog walking. I highly recommend visiting if you get the chance.

A perfect spot away from city life

Shaded, flat, and sandy. A nice quiet loop in a really nice state park.
