Starting at the Jones trailhead allows a similar double loop with a touch more river and way less time on the rails to trails Flagler. It is entirely bicycle friendly which takes a bit of hiker solace out and adds in a big dose of twisty-turny especially on two bridges. The ditch is a must see and do especially for bikers but I find the river panoramas a more interesting hike.

not clearly marked and over grown since irma. access is from the riverside park across the open field.

It's still closed from the hurricane as of 1/28/18

Pretty walk. But very short and trail entrance is not clearly marked

Great walk with family.. beautiful river views!

Did this trail today. Trail itself was great. Moderate traffic, well kept. Bridge was closed for repair so didn't get to do the whole loop. Draw backs were no maps, facilities or information at trail head parking. I won't do it again for the biggest reason of absolutely no facilities not even a porta John.

Hiked it with all of my children at many different ages! Great trail for everyone. The payoff of the lookout tower makes it a great reward for the kids hard work walking!

When on a 10 miles hike through an area of the park. Some sections were close due to flood damaged. Bring drinking water since none is available. I went with a group of scouts from Troop 43 in Tavares who are working in their Hiking Merit Badge. Watch for bicyclists since you’re sharing the trails with them. That section of the park has three parking areas but the only on for free is the hikers one. The courtesy parking fee is $2.00 to be use in the maintenance of the trails. There is a coed bathroom in the bicycle parking area.

Recently walked a section of the Flagler Trail while completing the Kolokee Loop Trail for the Florida Trailwalker Program. the section I hiked was wide enough to drive a vehicle on, clear of debris, and easy walking.

Didn't make it all the way to the landing strip as much of the trail adjacent to the river was flooded from Hurricane Irma, but definitely going back when the water level recedes a bit. Very easy to navigate, and saw some deer at night while heading back.

nice place too go with the family take the kids they will love it. if you like hiking, birdwatching or scenic walking ya'll love it. there's lots of wildlife too see.

Awesome! Lots of little off trails. Technical and challenging! Quite a few nice surprises mixed in!

Pretty straightforward. The end had a nice little beach with a cute bridge, just wish the trail had a few more sights along the way.

The waterfall is small, maybe 5ft? Most people are expecting something huge, but it's really not.

The trail was very shady and kept clean. At the beginning trail is very narrow, but after about quarter it widen. Trail is kind of boring if you are just walking since it is litally a straight line, might be better riding a mountain bike.

Natural Florida in all its trail glory. Flat, wooded rails-to-trails foot/bike/equestrian path. Trail has a few small roots & sandy sections. An easy out-&-back to the Econ River.

uneventful beginning you have to take a trail thats between two raods just to even make to the loop of an actual trail. And its a 50 minute walk of hearing cars going by. again uneventful.

I gave this trail only 3 stars because most of the trail was flooded out(August rain) and I wasn't able to ride most of the trails. I can't wait to go back when it dries up.
Ok the beginning of the trail is flat/sandy and windy, I didn't see many climbs and no jumps... I will give a full review next time I go back. FYI this park has 3 entrances one for horse back riding, another for trail walkers and another for bikes. Good luck finding the right one. lol

This trail was really fun and challenging! Perfect for off road biking. Part of the trail was under water so we explored a different route. I loved splashing thru the mud puddles on my bike. I can't wait to go back! We ended up riding about 10 miles

Great trail with lots of tight technical areas. North stretch of Ditch of Doom was flooded.

Beautiful sample of Florida nature. There are ample trails that network through this system and pretty much all of the connect. Just make sure that if you cross the river you can find a way back cuz there are only a few bridges.

Nice hike. Watch out for the wild pigs cause there are many big boars. It also has cattle. I walk here once a week at least. Love the wild life
