A very nice walk to the beach and inlet jetties along a boardwalk with small pavilions. Please note there is a parking fee. Accessibility: The trail surface is boardwalk and typically at least five feet wide. The estimated grade is gentle (all 3% or less) so this trail will likely be navigable for most wheelchairs/mobility equipment or strollers.Show more

Deep Creek Preserve (more than 8,000 acres) was once home in part to a cattle ranch and a small grass landing strip that is now abandoned in the middle of the forest. Much of the area is low-lying so flooded trails are not uncommon in the summer months. The Yellow Trail is one of three listed at the preserve, which as of summer 2020 was undergoing an expansion of its trail system. Much of this trail is also unshaded, particularly on the southern and western portions of the loop. The eastern edge follows the creek through a pine and oak forest. A bridge over the creek in the southeastern corner is out as of summer 2020, forcing a short detour that has lengthened the Yellow Trail beyond its distance on printed materials.Show more
