Started at 9 AM and saw lots of baby alligators, about 4 miles in, in the small ponds at the edge of the paths. By Noon, most of the gators had submerged. Great pathway, easy to walk. Bring water. Also tons of birds. Deer, raccoons.

Walked this boardwalk when we visited my Mom in Naples. It was beautiful to walk and see the sights. Unfortunately, we didn’t see anything more than a lizard and otter prints on the deck! All the gators must have been hiding!

Once you pass the observation tower the trail becomes a gravel road with minimal views of the water. I wouldn’t waste my time walking beyond the observation tower again. The trail ends with a lackluster view of brush and a random park bench. The first 0.25 of the trail is very nice with lots of birds and great views.

One of my favourite hiking and road biking place. Was excited that it is now open due to covid 19 as long as hikers respected the social distancing. I went early in the morning and already the parking lot was full. Parked in the road with several other cars. There were a lot of people but most adhered to the rules of distancing, and then there were those who did not. At one point, There was a large group that walked by us with coolers and “boom boxes” taking up the entire trail, not allowing for 6 feet passing. Probably won’t walk there again for awhile.

Just amazing! Great people on the trail, amazing activity! Owls, hawks, kites, indigo buntings...yes plural! Tons of cardinals, warblers, wrens, gnatcatchers fighting a hawks, tons of all size gators, hogs of some sort, woodpeckers, night herons, green herons, white egrets, wood storks, otters, raccoons and so much more. Heavy traffic but everyone was friendly! Great day!

While AllTtrails indicates this is a moderate to heavily traveled trail, I only saw one bicyclist and two homeless folks. Trail is for easy walking. I walked from the Hampton Inn… Not quite 2 miles… To get to the park plus the walk back made for a good 6 miler on my first warm day hike (89°) for the year. I will probably do this trail again tomorrow…

Winding with some blind curves. Hard to keep up a decent pace. Walkers taking up more than half & walking on wrong side of path. Decking & pavement. Nice bridge over Gordon River with beautiful views & nice breeze.

Unfortunately it is closed until further notice.

It’s closed until further notice. The sign was placed there 4/4/20. Hope it opens soon.

Finally got around to doing the entire trail... back half of the loop (4-5,5-6) there were hundreds of gators but otherwise well kept

I rode my bike for the entirety of the trail. I only saw a few people once I was past the first mile. The scenery is of the everglades. Expect horseflies/bugs, lots of birds, fish, turtles and other strange things that reside in the water. There were tons of alligators along side the trail and crossing the trail. At one point I had to coerce one to move so that I could pass. It is a great place to ride a bike or walk with a camera. The trail is easy, occasional areas with sand and frequent tree roots make riding a little bit of a technical challenge, but it was fun.

Very accessible, boardwalks or pavement. Part borders the road so not super secluded and not a ton of shade. We didn’t see any alligators, but there must be some there in the waterways. Benches and tables for sitting/picnicking and Public bathrooms. Was open during pandemic 4/1/20.

1 place to relax about halfway through. Very little shade and a little over grown. Directions take you down a gravel/dirt road.

Gators. Gators everywhere. Fun loop, my longest yet!

Apple Maps will take you some weird way. The main entrance is off of US 41 near a Taco Bell. All paved, super easy with shade and lots of places to rest. Small little beach behind the amphitheater.

Nice, quiet, and easy trail. The 1st half had more shade and on some parts the path was rather narrow with tall grass on each side. The bugs weren’t too bad, but I’d recommend bringing bug spray.

Social distancing at the Rookery! 95 degrees, so only made it up to the main loop and back - but saw 3 gators, a hawk couple, egrets and cormorant. So great to be outside, feel healthy, and wave to other “distancers”...

Really mobility accessible boardwalk. $8 parking fee (which we ignored because it was almost sunset—you pay a meter in the parking lot). The end of the boardwalk is the beach and a restaurant, and the hotels offer a shuttle back to the parking lot that you can jump on if needed. Pretty but does not feel secluded.

This area is finally dry enough to walk the entire A and B loops. Some areas of the back of Loop B are a bit overgrown but still easily passable. Trails are well marked with signs and red blazes. Double red blazes mark turns. One of my favorite walks 3.5 miles.

Great Trail! Lots of gators! We hiked about 5 miles in and could not pass a very large gator. On return we did pass a few gators. Saw lots of wildlife. I will go back to hike the whole trail in the cooler months when the alligators are not so active.

I actually didn’t make it all the way to the trail. You have to pay to get into the state park to get to the “trail.” Then it’s about a mile walk but either through a road/parking lots or on the beach. From what I gather, the trail is just some random boardwalks (there are others before the official trail that are randomly and inconsistently places). I did not want to walk on the beach (which is beautiful, like all of southern Florida), so that (and the fee) meant this wasn’t for me.

Nice walk to the beach, ending at. Lovely cafe. It’s only .75 mile, but you can take a tram back if needed!

nice place to stretch the legs or ride a bike. heavily used but fun. take the connector to baker park for a nice picnic or to play at the play ground. visited 2-28-2020

This is a birding trail but no bird pictures are shown despite my having uploaded plenty as a volunteer interpreter fr the site. BTW the trail is actively maintained by volunteers.

Accessible and provides a beautiful view into the Florida swamp. Saw red-shouldered hawks, gators of various sizes, piliated woodpeckers, and a little raccoon.

Easy and enjoyable trail that is a great place for wildlife, particularly birds. The scenery is also pretty in spots. Bugs were only a slight problem during my visit but I can see how they could get bad on this trail, so be wary of that.

Loved this walk! Well maintained boardwalk, asphalt, and even a marsh side trail. Sweet Eagle Scout project identifies plant life.

Nice nature walk-in the middle of urban sprawl Naples.

Nice trail, hikes the end of February and my feet stayed dry. Found a geo cache along the way by accident, but didn’t have a pen...also some huge gators near the left side of the loop
