Lutz, Florida Map

Good short run. Nice trails. Can get 6-7miles with interest by varying route

rollar blading your best bet is to go to the tampa bay trail to start. More down by tampa it gets a lot of hills.

Nice place boardwalk

Great trail a little noisy from freeway but all in all a good ride. very protected trails.

super pretty!! had to stop and take some pics. super short trail so had to ride it a few times but the view was worth it

Fun trail for families. Saw horses, tortoises, and lots of birds.

Live near by about 1,5 miles,
The only thing that I hate is that I did not know about this place until after I brought my house in Lutz.
If I id I would had brought a house within a block or two from it.
It is crowed during the weekend, do not go there.
it is nice during the week. usually one or two other cars..
I grew up on a farm, move to the city so I missed the woods
When I need to get away from the family.. I go there with a ice cooler with some sodas and something
to eat and just sit in the woods

Great easy trail with something new to see every day. Many side trails not listed on map that bring you easily back to the main path.

I hike here a lot. Bring the dogs whenever I can (always pick up after them). The park is a Godsend in that it provides a nice chunk of real Florida in the middle of civilization. The only action that regularly needs to be taken, besides of course regular trail clearing, is the cutting back of exotics and ornamentals that continuously creep in from the adjacent homes which abut the preserves north boundary. That section of the trail can often be obstructed, especially in summer, due to weeds/ brush, etc. I’ve never seen deer here, although there’s enough acreage for a few I would think. Lots of active Gopher Tortoise burrows throughout the preserve. Good birding site and the gorgeous lake really highlights this tract. Upland pine and mixed hardwoods are very nice. A nice place to get away to.

at first I was unimpressed, but I love it more everytime I go!

peaceful suburban hike minutes from the highway- makes a nice quiet walk around a lake. good for dogs and kids.

Easy to go off many paths too choose from glad we had this app. Plenty of nature here to see. If you like birds there are three areas that were crowded with all kinds of birds including woodpeckers of different varieties. We also happened upon a red tail hawk who allowed us to take pictures and videos before flying away. We would definitely come back here again someday.

Great biking trail. Minimal stops/crossroads.

Awesome trail for running I had my camelback so staying hydrated was no problem.

This place is great when there's nobody else there. Lots of men not in exercise clothing hang around the front entrance in their cars seemingly waiting for “something” and checking people out. Very annoying. I’m not the only person to notice this. Read the other reviews.

Another gem in Hillsborough County if you like natural paths surrounding water. There are smaller trails that are not well marked, but the preserve is bordered by streets so getting lost would be difficult. Waterfowl present and scenic spots overlooking the lake abound.

This is a small place, but lots of little trails. The map at the entrance says out and back, but ppl have made a narrow footpath so you can loop around the whole lake (Lake Flynn). No bathrooms or water, but it is a short hike so worries, just bring some water with you. It is mostly shady. I wish I had brought some bug spray, but this time of year we only had a few bites. A great place, can't wait to go back through out the year to see how it looks in the spring.

Part of park is still closed due to the sinkhole but still got in a couple of miles. Quiet and not crowded.

Wednesday, November 16, 2016

Due to a sink hole South of the cross road, the trail now ends at the cross road. Also the cross road is under water, so you can only do an out and back on the North side of the lake.

shaded no direct sunlight. quiet. not to many people.

over all this is great paved trail. 4.5 miles north of the Lutz Lake parking there is a 13 mile out and back, Starky Trail.

I would give this a 5 start rating but the lack of water stations being full is a big disappointment.

in the end, if you bring hydration, it is a great pave road bike trail.

It's a nice shady trail, but like Tim wrote 2 years ago, 10am 2 days ago, creepy guy hanging out at the entrance, eyeing up my mail friend as he waited for me to arrive. Was still there when we left an hour later, and 2 other creepy guys were waiting in 2 other vehicles for us to leave. Creepy guy was on a bike. He's about 6'2", wearing clothes for the mall, not the trail. I assumed it was a bunch of men looking for sex in the park. I don't intend to go back.

This trail is offline for now due to sinkhole issues in the park. The entire park is closed.

Great place, more signs need it !! Beautiful lake...fun for a short hiking

Great for young ones.

My track on this trail is is incorrect. I think my iPhone gave up on me after a few feet, but we did about 2 1/4 miles. This is a flat, well-maintained trail in very urban area. Traffic noise from nearby I-275 provides a steady, but not terribly loud background,. The lake that is traversed by the trail appears to be mostly shallow with lots of lily pads, many of which were in bloom (May 1, 2015) along with a variety of wild flowers. Much of the trail is well-shaded, but a few short segments are in direct sun. Not much wildlife today. I saw a single squirrel and a few birds. Nice, peaceful stroll in the woods, but if you are looking for a challenging hike, this is not the trail for you.

Have only just started cycling again. I'm recycling????? Began at Lutz Lake Fern Rd. went approximately 8-9 miles up and came back. I will keep coming to this trail starting at different way points.

Decent trail I would almost describe as urban due to its proximity to development on all sides. Quiet on the interior trails. Close proximity is a plus.
