nice trails and great campsite by the river. be sure to bring enough water as neither of the 2 pitcher pumps on the property work.

Awesome trail!

Easy ramp for kayaks, can explore around mangroves and continue paddling to Boca Ciega Bay. Hose to rinse down kayak when you pull it out of the water.
Kayak Nature Adventures is located close to the launch ramp and rents both single & tandem kayaks.

Great walking trail. This trail has several photogenic locations if you cross the lake and walk to the wooden bridge over the railroad tracks. I went during mid-spring and the lighting and greenery were simply amazing.

Just a long sidewalk but an amazing view

I LOVED this hike. I walked 5 miles and saw a total count of 38 gators. Unreal. Tons of birds to see including bald eagles, spoonbills and cranes. Saw a mother and baby deer by the back of the park as well. The hike itself is a relaxing walk but it got quite hot as the morning went on. Overall it was well worth it and was a great hike! Will definitely do it again.

I would go back. Make sure to take someone with you if your walking. (To remote).

Work in progress.....VK used to be so much fun but unfortunately after the hurricane the trail was wiped out!!! Volunteers are doing a great job recovering and adding more trails.
We still visit whenever we can.

Gorgeous run along Tampa’s Riverwalk. Beautiful views and beautiful people. There were also many military informational plaques and Memorial’s along the route that I thought were very impressive. If you do a run, enjoy it... but try and go back later for a leisurely stroll so you can see and read all of the history along the Riverwalk. I sacrificed some of my run just so I could stop numerous times and read the history.

Short but scenic

Small trail but great sites. I have cotton mouths and two white squirrels there.

Nice and quiet trail with some good sights. The trail loop could be marked a little more clearly since there are a few offshoots. But overall I really enjoyed it.

Trail is mostly paved and shaded. The bridge to the water was closed for repairs (3/24/18). Over all nice short hike with family.

Excellent mtb track

Great views! Lovely walk.

Nice place lots of wildlife

Dock extending out to river is closed due to hurricane damage. Nice quick walk but not a ton to see.

This trail is very rustic and beautiful and you are likely to see a lot of wildlife, especially if you go around dawn.

I was there early one morning and saw several deer, two large owls, and several wild turkeys.

I love how fresh and clean the air smells and the trail follows Shingle Creek for a while.

If you live anywhere near this trail, it's just a nice place to get away from all the busyness of orlando without having to drive too far.

1) Access is limited. You can only visit the trail certain hours, since parking is behind a middle school and the gate is closed at certain times. It's best to visit google maps, as they have the exact hours posted. Lookup: Shingle Creek Trailhead.

If you can't access the trail because the school gate is closed, there is a back entrance to the trail located in a neighborhood 10 min west of the school trailhead. Lookup "Millenium Waves" on google maps. The trail entrance is just east of it on Tarragona Drive. The only downside to this entrance is that you will have to walk about a mile to get to the wooded section of the trail behind the middle school. It's a scenic and peaceful walk though, and everyone I've met so far has been very friendly.

2) The trail is very secluded. If you at all don't feel safe by yourself, you'll definitely want to bring someone with you.

Gate was locked on the Bass Rd entry and there was no parking there. Find another entry point. Nice family trail and allows pets. Good amount of shade.

Such a pleasant surprise! Near the park ave area, there is another little set of trail systems accessible via fern trail. Fun adventure.

it's ok if you take a compass with you. got lost many times. where there are maps it should say YOU are here! ill never go back . too many nicer easier parks to enjoy

Definitely worth the drive for a nice weekend of kayaking. But call ahead to make sure water levels are high. When low, the scenic loop is inaccessible leaving only the larger parts of the creek full of alligators. Still fun if you aren't scared of a few bull gators

Short trail but well maintained.

If you go early in the morning, beware you will hit every spider web on the trail.

could not get to the trailhead from the middle school. The bus lane to the back of the school was gated and locked on a Sunday. Tried walking through the school but would have to walk through school gym and hallways. Did not feel comfortable doing that.
